Portugal: It's the Gypsies Against the Africans

Hat tip Totalitarismo Universalista (Pt). Translation by Fousesquawk.

With all the turmoil in Western Europe dealing with refugees, asylum-seekers, and various migrants, you hear much about Portugal. Due to its colonial past in Africa and elsewhere, they do have African and Brazilian immigrant communities, united by the Portuguese language, which the Portuguese colonialists and seafarers spread widely. In fact, Portuguese is a much more important international language than commonly given credit for. In addition to Brazil, it is the official language of several former African Portuguese colonies, such as Mozambique, Cabo Verde, and Angola, just to name a few.

And like most European countries, Portugal also has Gypsies. All that is OK. What is not OK is that some of these communities are plagued by criminal gangs. The city of Braga has been hit with at least three gang-related shootings since last September, and residents of terrified. This war is between Gypsies and Africans. On Sunday, a Mozambican man was attacked by a group of unidentified suspects and shot in the leg close to the University of Minho. It appears to be in retaliation for previous shootings in March and last September.

The below link from the Portuguese blog, Totalitarismo Universalista has a video of a news report by the Portuguese channel, Jornal. We are furnishing English subtitles. The (translated) opening paragraph below is the comment of Totalitarismo Universalista.

Sunday, 30 May 2021

Another shootout a vibrant exchange of benefits between Africans and Gypsies!

Two points to highlight: (1) This did not happen in greater Lisbon, it was right in Braga, the capital of Minho; (2) The conflicts between the two "rival groups" began 6 months ago, and there doesn't seem to be any end. But continue to sleep, Portuguese. Nothing is happening....

Germany's Problem With Imported Anti-Semitism

Hat tip Gates of Vienna, RAIR Foundation, and Vlad Tepes. Translation by Miss Piggy.

In the below video, Alice Weidel and Alexander Gauland of the conservative party, Alternatif fuer Deutschland, make brief statements about Germany's problem of "imported anti-Semitism". These remarks come in the wake of the Hamas rocket attacks on Israel and resultant anti-Israel demonstrations in German cities by pro-Palestinian supporters, which featured raw Jew-hatred.

Sweden: Deadly Gang Warfare Breaks Out Near Gothenburg

Hat tip Samnytt. Translation by Fousesquawk.

In Sweden, people tell jokes about those who live in Gothenburg, much like jokes are told in America about West Virginia, or in Switzerland about people from Berne. This, however, is no joking matter, and it has nothing to do with native Gothenburgers. Today, a riot and shooting broke out between some 100 members of two rival immigrant gangs. One person is dead and 2-3 others wounded. The below article from Samnytt also has a video.

Klan Clan war in Gothenburg escalates. One executed with shot to head

On Saturday, Samnytt was able to show video clips from the "vulnerable area" of Hjällbo in Northeast Gothenburg where some 100 men took part in a violent riot with weapons in the middle of a residential area. Police responded by making contact with the gangs to mediate peace. But already on Sunday, shots broke out with new riots in the area. Two persons have been shot, one of whom with a deadly outcome. See the video from the scene below.

The ongoing conflict in the area is said to be between two clan families, including the Hjällbo Network with the infamous Ali Khan family at the helm, and has been going on since Friday. Christer Fuxberg is a police press spokesman in the region West and reports that authorities have been  working to make contact with the network "to see if there is something we can help with so there will be reconciliation again."

At 13:23, police were notified of a shooting in the area. According to information to Samnytt, two persons were reportedly wounded in the shooting, of whom, one was hit in the head and died. In total, three persons have been taken to the hospital.

Police have arrested one person at the scene suspected of murder. According to information from police sources, the shooting is an act of revenge in the ongoing conflict which is based on rivalry in the area.

Samnytt can show pictures from the scene.

Two Names on a Wall (Annual Re-Post)

Below is my annual Memorial Day re-post of an article I first wrote many years ago to commemorate two of my friends who died in Vietnam as well as the more than 58,000 other Americans who died in that war.

Dorian Jan Houser (1946-1967)
Michael G Vinassa (1946-1966)

The recent news that someone had defaced the Viet Nam War Memorial in Washington served to bring back my memories of two of my childhood friends whose names appear on that wall. Mike Vinassa and Dorian Houser were both from west Los Angeles, where I also grew up. We belonged to the same high school social club. All three of us entered military service after high school. I was assigned to Germany; they were sent to Viet Nam. I returned and went on with the rest of my life. They died in Viet Nam. Forty years later, with our country once again at war and American soldiers sacrificing their lives for America, we should also remember those that gave their lives in Viet Nam.

I first knew Dorian in the 1950s. He and his brother, Lee, played on my little league team. Their father was our coach. Later, my relationship with Dory continued in school. In high school, we both belonged to a club called the Chancellors of Venice. As was common in west LA, there were many (off-campus) clubs formed for social purposes. We all had our club jackets, with the name of the club and locale (Venice or WLA) embroidered on the back. The colors of the clubs varied (ours was green). As we ended our high school days, these clubs disbanded as we went our separate ways-off to college, work or military service. In Dory's case, he entered the Marines in 1966, and after training, was sent to Viet Nam. On May 10, 1967, one month before his 21st birthday, he was killed in Quang Tin. He was hit in the chest by shrapnel and killed instantly.

I happened to be home on leave from Germany when we got the news that Dory was dead. I was able to attend his funeral before returning back to Germany. I'm a little embarrassed to admit it after all these years, but I chose not to wear my uniform to the funeral, simply because I was afraid his family might react emotionally to it. I have always regretted that decision.

Dory was the kind of guy that no one could dislike. He was friendly and unassuming. Needless to say, his funeral was a sad and emotional event. In the last couple of years, I have visited his grave a couple of times since my mother-in-law is interred in the same cemetery. About a year ago, I came across a posting about Dory by his sister. She described her brother and was looking for anyone who knew Dory and remembered him. I answered her post, but the email is no longer valid. As yet, I have not been able to contact her.

Mike Vinassa was also a member of the Chancellors. He was a stout, barrel-chested kid with a big tattoo on his shoulder, something unusual at the time for someone so young (still in high school). Needless to say, he was tough and didn't mind a good fight. Most other kids knew not to mess with him, but among his friends, he was well-liked. I remember one night we were at a party and he wanted to (playfully) roughhouse with me. We started slap-fighting and wrestling on the front yard of the house, and (somehow) I was able to throw him to the ground and fall on top of him. As you may know, innocent roughhousing among teenagers can easily turn into a real fight, and I remember thinking that Mike might suddenly get mad, so I rolled over and let him get on top, thus letting him win the match.

After high school, I went on to complete 2 years of college before I entered the Army. I basically lost touch with Mike and Dory at that time.

I had recently arrived at my post of duty in Germany when I came across Mike's name while reading the Viet Nam obituaries in the Army Times. It wasn't until several months ago that I learned the circumstances of Mike's death, which occurred on May 22, 1966.

Mike was a member of C Co, Ist Bn, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cav Division (US Army). Ironically, Mike was a short-timer, soon to return to the US, and, on that day, assigned to non-combat duties. Yet he insisted on accompanying his unit on a final combat mission in the Vinh Thanh Valley. It was on that final mission, that Mike lost his life-under heroic conditions. He personally led a group of his comrades in charging and taking out a machine gun nest that was pinning down his unit, but was fatally shot in the process. For his actions, Mike was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. His sole survivor was his mother.

In subsequent years, I have been able to find both their names on the Viet Nam Memorial. (I was living in the Washington area at the time.) As stated, I have visited Dory's grave, but as yet, have not identified Mike's cemetery. When I look back at my life after the Army, I contemplate how I finished college, began my career, got married, had children, retired, and now find myself in my 60s. But as I looked down on Dory's grave, I realized that he and Mike are frozen in time-forever 20 years old. I wonder what became of their parents, the rest of the families.

In a sense, today's soldiers are more fortunate than those who went to Viet Nam. The overwhelming majority of the American people greatly respect them (with the notable exception of the usual mindless idiots who are not worth further mention in this essay). Soldiers returning from Viet Nam were often subject to dispicable treatment from those of their own generation who did everything they could to avoid military service. Once the Viet Nam War ended, the country wanted to forget about it as quickly as possible-after all, it was just a tragic period in our history. We also forgot about our Viet Nam veterans who came back alive-in so many cases, as walking wounded. They deserved so much better from us. They are still among us, and in many cases, still wounded.

All of us who lost friends or family members in Viet Nam should try to keep their memories alive and honor them. God rest their souls.

Dorian Jan Houser- Panel 19E, line 082

My original post was discovered on the internet by Dory's sister, who was naturally shocked and deeply touched. She currently lives in central California. We exchanged a couple of e-mails. I learned that Dory's dad had passed on, but that his brother was still around and doing fine.

I finally discovered that Mike was interred at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills. As yet, I have not gotten up there to visit his grave, but I will. I learned from a mutual childhood friend that Mike's father had been killed in the Korean war. Mike was all his Mom had.

Last year, I was finally able to pay my respects at Mike's grave at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills. Even though I was able to obtain the grave marker and a map from the office, finding graves at Forest Lawn proved to be tricky since the little stone markers they use to give row and plot numbers are worn. (I was also looking for my aunt's grave, but never could find it.) In addition, there was a driving rainstorm. It took over 30 minutes, but I finally find Mike's grave. His Mom, who lost Mike's father in Korea, now lies next to him.  Because of the weather, I wasn't able to linger long. The next time I am in LA, I will try and return.

Last year, I was also contacted by a high school friend of Dory's (whom I had not known). He also served in Viet Nam, was living in Florida, and was trying to find where Dory was buried. I was able to give him the information he needed, plus put him in contact with Dory's sister. He is determined to come to California and pay his respects to Dory in the near future.

One way or another and to one extent or another, our generation was marked by Viet Nam, whether we served there or not. For Dory, Mike, 58,000+ other Americans and millions of
Vietnamese, the scar was total. In addition, we still have survivors among us from World War II, the Korean War, and the wars since Vietnam, not to mention that still on-going in Afghanistan. This is why Memorial Day is an important day for us all. If we ever forget their sacrifices, then we will have lost our greatness.

Rutgers: Fecklessness (and Deceit?) in Motion

Rutgers University has been plagued with a series of anti-Semitic incidents in recent years, some of which have been reported on this site. It is clear that the university administration is unable or unwilling to protect Jewish students on campus from the pro-Palestinian activists like the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter.

So in the recent spate of anti-Semitic violence sweeping the nation during the last round of fighting between Israel and the Hamas terrorists in Gaza, the chancellor and provost of the New Brunswick campus, Christopher Molloy and Francine Conway respectively, issued one of those vague statements condemning anti-Semitism without actually naming the principal perpetrators. That appeared on May 26.

But even that was unacceptable to the SJP, who protested the statement.  And guess what.  Molloy and Conway apologized to the poor offended SJP Brown Shirts on May 27.

That prompted a response from Jewish on Campus, a  Jewish advocacy group at Rutgers.

I have checked a number of sources for this story. This article from Volokh Conspiracy ( May 28) includes the full texts of the relevant statements. That is important.

In an interesting twist, on May 29, the president of Rutgers, Jonathan Holloway, issued a statement that Rutgers had not apologized, nor ever would, apologize for standing against anti-Semitism.

May 29, 2021

"Rutgers deplores hatred and bigotry in all forms.  We have not, nor would we ever, apologize for standing against anti-Semitism.

Neither hatred nor bigotry has a place at Rutgers, nor should they have a place anywhere in the world. At Rutgers we believe that anti-Semitism, anti-Hinduism, Islamophobia and all forms of racism, intolerance and xenophobia are unacceptable wherever and whenever they occur."

Jonathan Holloway
President and University Professor

Here is today's (May 29) Daily Targum (Rutgers campus newspaper) reporting that statement.

Yesterday (May 28), Daily Targum published this story on the matter.

Note there are links to the original statement condemning anti-Semitism as well as the university apology to SJP and Palestinians. Both of those links, however, go back to today's disclaimer by Rutgers. Not only are the links inaccurate as to advertised content, but they are dated one day after the article first appeared.

Now I am cross-posting articles on this story from other sources.

Algemeiner  (May 28) Note that in this article too, the original condemnation and the apology links are replaced by the May 29 disclaimer.

Jewish Journal (May 28) Same thing with both links. They both open up with the March 29 disclaimer.

Daily Caller (May 27). Same issue with both links.

New York Daily Post  (May 28) Same issue with both links.

And Fox News.

There may be an innocent explanation for all this, perhaps someone just made an error with the links. That error could not have been on the part of all the above sources reporting the story. God knows how many others have that same issue. The error must have happened within the Rutgers administration and multiple other outlets just cut and pasted it.

It just seems odd that all links reporting the initial May 26 condemnation of anti-Semitism and the subsequent apology on May 27, are routed to the May 29 disclaimer by Rutgers President Holloway.

Italy: Bangali Woman Stabbed to Death by Husband

Yesterday in Rome, a 40-year-old Bangladeshi Bengali* woman was stabbed to death by her husband in the middle of the street. The below article from Il Tempo is translated by Fousesquawk.

Horror in Rome: Stabs his wife to death. Stopped by passers-by

29 May

He stabbed her more than ten times until he killed her. It happened yesterday in Rome in front of a bar on Via Greppi (Street) in the Portuense quarter. The couple had reportedly started to argue in the middle of the street when the man reportedly drew a knife striking her two times in the chest. She, a Bangladeshi of 40 years of age, was immediately aided by some passersby who stopped the killer, 49, and he himself from Sri Lanka. The intervention of the police was immediate, and the man was arrested with the knife still in his hand. The trip to San Camillo  Hospital was in vain.  The victim died shortly after of her serious wounds.

*Note: Other Italian sources are identifying both victim and killer as Sri Lankan citizens.

Germany: AFD Condemns Anti-Semitism in Germany and Names Names

Hat tip Gates of Vienna, Vlad Tepes, and RAIR Foundation. Translation by Oz-Rita.

I am cross-posting an article from Gates of Vienna that features Beatrix von Storch, deputy leader of the conservative Alternatif fuer Deutschland party in the Bundestag. It seems the AfD is the only German party willing to really take a stand on the surge of anti-Semitism in Germany while the others merely condemn it while siding with the very forces that carry it out, mainly Muslim immigrants. ("Imported anti-Semitism"). Somehow, it is the AfD, which opposes Muslim migration into Germany, that has been accused of stoking riots by the CSU's representative in Brussels, Manfred Weber. I guess their sin is naming the perpetrators.

Fousesquawk comment: Who were those hecklers in the background? Maybe the ghost of Hermann Goering (noted former president of the Reichstag) is still wandering the hallways.

"You're out of order."

Who? Me or Ms. Von Storch?

France: More on the Attack Near Nantes

-France Bleu

Earlier today, we reported on the attack at a French police station in which a policewoman was stabbed. A subsequent hunt and shootout with the attacker resulted in wounds to two cops and the attacker being shot dead.

Below is a translation by Fousesquawk of today's article from Le Figaro

A municipal policewoman attacked with knife, her assailant neutralized

This 39-year-old man, known for his Islamism and severe schizophrenia, had been in prison for armed robbery. He was shot dead after the end of a three-hour hunt in the suburb of Nantes.

-By Jean Chichizola. posted ten hours ago, updated one hour ago

Photo caption: Gendarmes and members of GIGN hunt for the attacker of the municipal policewoman at La Chapelle-sur-Erdre/LOIC VENANCE/Agence  Presse France

-Le Figaro

On Friday, an ex-detainee, mentally ill and radicalized, targeting a municipal policewoman and then gendarmes with extreme violence..... The attack perpetrated at La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, not far from Nantes, by Ndiaga Dieye, 39, poses more than the terrorist qualification or the rule of law, finally restored, again the problem of these crazies of God, a hybrid profile, between hate and psychiatry, here, from Villeurbanne to Romans-sur-Isere, bloodying the country for years.  Yet the already heavy toll of the attack on Friday could have been more terrible.

It all began around ten in the morning in the offices of the municipal police of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, a peaceful town of some 20,000 inhabitants situated a few kilometers from the capital of Ducs de Bretagne. A man attacked a policewoman with a knife and seriously injured her in the legs. Described in a state of absolute emergency after the attack, the policewoman is expected to survive her wounds, according to Minister of Interior Gerald Darmanin, who came to the scene.

Hunt for the man

After having stabbed the official, the assailant grabbed her service weapon and fled in a car before having an accident. The vehicle was found abandoned in the middle of the hunt. The individual then fled on foot. And a veritable manhunt was conducted with the mobilization of 180 departmental gendarmes, 60 mobile gendarmes, an emergency unit of GIGN from Nantes, three dog teams, and two helicopters. The extreme danger of an armed and determined assailant led to the securing of school establishments and the confinement of schools and colleges of the town. Surrounding schools were secured, according to the Gendarmerie. A few hours later, the suspect was intercepted not far from the Gendarmerie post of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre. According to Gerald Darmanin, it is clear that he, "wanted to attack gendarmes."

In the exchange of gunfire, the individual managed to wound one gendarme in the hand and another in the arm. Gravely wounded, the assailant succumbed to his wounds. Friday evening, the investigative section of the Nantes Gendarmerie and the prosecutor's office took over the case. The National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor (Office) continued to monitor the situation to determine if it should take over the case. A judicial source explained Friday that, as always with these (cross-jurisdictional) cases, everything would depend in the coming hours on the result of searches and interviews, both of the municipal police, but also other persons present at the scenes.

The profile of the assailant of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre is, in any case, edifying. Born in November 1981 at Saint-Nazaire, Ndiaga Dieye had a heavy past of common law delinquency (violence, violence against police....) beginning in his adolescence. He lived in La Chapelle-sur-Erdre since his exit from prison in March 2021. Arrested in 2013 in a case of armed robbery, he had been sentenced in 2015 to 8 years in prison.

During his detention, he was found guilty of several attacks against officials of the penitentiary administration and fellow prisoners. In 2016, a double rupture. He is diagnosed with severe schizophrenia. He says he is particularly possessed by evil, hears voices, talks and laughs to himself, and seems to address apparitions. At the same time, he begins to practice an assiduous and rigorous form of Islam. A source close to the case explains that this radicalization seemed to correspond to episodes of psychiatric breakdown. His condition led to his placement in an individual cell.

In any case, the man is reported in penitentiary information registered with FSPRT. Freed in March 2021, at the end of his sentence, he is monitored by the Departmental Radicalization Assessment group. He also submits to the requirements of reinsertion and care in taking his treatment and meeting with the penitentiary service of insertion and probation. Before deciding Friday to try to kill police and gendarmes.

France: Jihadist Stabs Cop and Shoots Two Others in Nantes

Gunman reported dead

Today in the area of Nantes, France, a radicalized jihadist, reportedly released from prison months earlier, stabbed a policewoman, stole her service weapon, and wounded two other cops in an exchange of gunfire in which he was killed (There are conflicting reports on this last point, but it appears the most recent is that he was killed.) The suspect is identified as Ndiaga Dieye, who was known to police as a radicalized Muslim (born in France). The three officers are reportedly out of danger.

The below article by Le Figaro is in the process of being translated.

"Dear Zoom": Leftist Academic Group Protest Take Down of Rabab Abdulhadi's Webinar

"Therefore, we demand that Zoom stop targeting Palestine-focused scholarship and teaching events: in particular, cease your repeated targeting of programming by AMED studies and collaborating institutions, individuals and organizations. We further demand that you follow through on your word to not suppress Academic Freedom on this and all issues related to social justice, decolonization, and struggles for freedom."

The California Scholars for Academic Freedom (CSFA) is one of those dime-a-dozen groups of leftwing professors that infest academics today. A few weeks ago, they wrote a letter to Zoom Video Communications to protest Zoom's decision not to be associated with a virtual seminar hosted by radical San Francisco State University professor Rabab Abdulhadi, which was to feature Leila Khaled, a convicted and unrepentant skyjacker from decades ago, who now lives in Jordan.

Not only did Abdulhadi throw one of her trademark, self-pitying hissy-fits, but the CSAF also came rushing to her side with a scholarly-worded letter that began, "Dear Zoom".

You can read the indignant letter here from the CSAF website.

And guess whose name is at the very top of the list of scholarly signees: Why none other than our old  friend and Campus Watch legend, Mark LeVine of UC Irvine. (That capital V is not a typo.)

LeVine has won more Campus Watch "Howler of the Month" awards than tennis legend, Rafael Nadal, has won French Opens.

But I digress.

The only other name I recognize as a signer of this silly letter is Professor David Klein of California State University at Northridge. Last we heard from him, he was using the CSUN official campus server to urge his students to boycott Israel or some such nonsense. That was back in 2012, so I see he is still fighting the good battle.

It's great to see that CSAF is defending the right of Abdulhadi and her gang to bring in a convicted and unrepentant terrorist to speak for SFSU, but where is this bunch when pro-Israel or pro-America-conservative speakers are shouted down on American campuses? Are they rushing to defend academic freedom? Where are they when conservative professors are being hounded on campus with demands they be fired because they don't support BLM, BDS, Antifa, or the Democrat party?

These people miss the point entirely. It's not because Leila Khaled is a critic of Israel that she should not have been given a forum in the US. It is because she is an unrepentant skyjacker-an unrepentant terrorist.

Sweden: How Convicted Foreign Criminals Escape Deportation

Hat tip Pettersson's Blogg. Translation by Fousesquawk.

You would think that any civilized, intelligent country would know what to do with convicted rapists, murderers, or drug dealers of foreign origin who finish serving their prison sentences, right? You know, deport them?

Think again.

In Sweden, they have figured out a way to avoid being sent back to their native countries, like Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Iraq, etc. They refuse to take a Covid test.

The below report from the Swedish blog, Pettersson's Blogg, also expresses outrage that the nation's justice minister, Morgan Johansson, refuses to forcibly test these miscreants. Translation by Fousesquawk.

Nine out of ten criminals will not be deported, they refuse to be Covid-tested

Crime. Border police now report that nine out of ten criminals who are sentenced to deportation after serving their prison sentence remain in the country by refusing to take the Covid test. According to the police National Operative Section, NOA, about 90% of those sentenced to deportation refuse, and thus, cannot be deported, instead, being placed in custody, Sweden Radio reports.

The Moderates (party) is now suggesting that the Parliament should demand that the law be changed so that it will be possible to forcibly test persons in order to carry out the rejection and deportation decision, but Justice Minister Morgan Johansson (S) said recently that forced testing is not something that he is ready to consider.

Pettersson says that criminals are sentenced to deportation, and we have a justice minister who refuses to follow the decision of the court. Why is Morgan Johansson (S) still in his post?

Fousesquawk comment: In the below link from Expresson, there is a video on the issue which we are in the process of translating.

Jew Hatred in Orange County, California (Cont)

Hat tip Investigative Project on Terrorism, Algemeiner, and Deb

As a resident of Orange County, I am cross-posting the below article by Steven Emerson with concern. As we watched the latest round of fighting between Israel and Hamas, we have witnessed alarming outbreaks of Jew-hatred, both in our country and Europe.

Now we have an imam from a local mosque in Orange County literally calling for blood in a despicable sermon.  His name is Tarik Ata, of the Orange County Islamic Foundation in Mission Viejo, and he is another Muslim leader who masquerades as a responsible figure.

While Ata had never come to my attention previously, the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California has often been featured on this site. This is the so-called happy face of Muslim leadership in Southern California, posing as moderates while consistently carrying water for the enemies of the US and Israel.

In 2017, Ata gave a sermon in which he condemned a recent attack in New York, as well as Al Qaeda and ISIS. Yet, at the same time, he said that Islam forbids such acts. This is the tact that so many Muslim religious leaders in America take. They condemn terrorism while assuring us it has nothing to do with Islam when all the evidence says otherwise. They are lulling us to sleep.

Another thing that distresses me about Ata is that he is American-born. Once I had hoped naively that there was hope in seeing more American-born imams in US mosques as opposed to the steady stream of imported Middle East imams who brought with them the medieval thinking of that region and a complete lack of knowledge or understanding of Western democracy and thought.  Ata himself, while being born in the Chicago area, studied in Jordan. He obviously learned a lot there.

I can only hope that Jewish and Christian leaders here in Southern California who are so invested in inter-faith relations will learn their lesson, and at the very least, cease their association with individuals and organizations who engage in this kind of rhetoric. There is no way you can put a happy face on this.

Italy: Egyptian Man Arrested for Rape of German Woman in Italy.

Hat tip HeHa, Vlad Tepes, Gates of Vienna, Toscana  TG, and Secolo d'Italia

"Hey Angela, Did you hear what happened in Carrara last night?"

This past Sunday night in the Italian coastal town of Carrara, a German tourist was allegedly raped on the beach. After seeking help from a security guard and being taken to the hospital, a medical examination showed evidence of violence. The below Toscana TG news video is translated by Fousesquawk.

Subsequently, police arrested a 25-year-old Egyptian man and charged him with the crime. The headline and opening sentence of the article in Secolo d'Italia is translated by Fousesquawk. The article also identifies the victim as a German from Berlin.

Carrara, tourist raped on beach. the turn: Egyptian 25, arrested

"Carrara, the case of the tourist raped at the beach and a turn: The alleged guilty (party), a 25-year-old Egyptian, arrested.

(Carrara, il caso della turista stuprata in spiaggia è a una svolta: fermato il presunto colpevole, un egiziano 25enne.)

At the risk of injecting inappropriate humor into this story, it brings to mind that infamous 2019 video of former Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a bar in Davos, Switzerland during a European summit, in which we turned into a spoof. In reality, Conte was reassuring Merkel that he was in agreement with her immigration policies but that they needed to get around (former Interior Minister) Matteo Salvini, who was standing in their way.

But this is the result of the initiative of Merkel and the fecklessness of the Italian government. Two years after that meeting, the invasion continues, particularly into Italy. And here is the result: A German woman gets raped on a beach in Italy by (allegedly) an Egyptian. How ironic.

This is a genuine case of celebrating diversity, right?

Portugal to Pay 3 Million Euros for New Mosque in Lisbon

Hat tip Amigo de Israel. Translation by Fousesquawk.

The government of  Portugal is spending 3 million euros of the taxpayers' money toward the construction of a new mosque in downtown Lisbon. A lot of people are unhappy about it. What's worse, the defenders of the project including the government and those ubiquitous fact-checkers are refuting charges that the government is spending 3 million euros for the construction of a mosque. Part of the 3 million euros is for expropriating the land from residents who live in buildings which are to be demolished.

Oh, those fact-checkers.

The below article from the Portuguese blog, Amigo de Israel, is translated by Fousesquawk. There is a video in this article, and we are working on English subtitles.

*Update: Here it is:

Note: In paragraph 4 of the written article below; ......"One of the ways to feed fanaticism, aside from being in the same space, is the construction of religious symbols and temples......that are already being demolished in various countries of Europe."  This must refer to Christian churches that are being demolished in Europe. I am assuming that the ...... space contains some information that makes this clear. The countries cited are hardly demolishing mosques.

Spending manias of the PS (Socialist Party) and Costa exemplified here, always above the law and national interest.

(Prime Minister) Antonio Costa, still in the Lisbon Chamber, donated 3 million (Euros) to construct a mosque at Mouraria, but the dictatorship of lies and of the fact-checkers say that is false because the 3 million were not just for the mosque, but also to expropriate (the property) from the people who live on the land which the Chamber wants to offer to the Muslim community.

Lying fact-checkers, at the service of the corrupt. The Portuguese are indignant and frightened by the news around the world outside the Islamic ghettoes, where, people-fanatics of the same religion and anti-Christian, anti-Western spirit- are often united together.

Portugal pretends that it wants to integrate them and spends millions on this, but then finances this form of segregation. Around the world, there are countries that stopped this type of ghettoes which began to get out of control of the police and became dominated by residents like a micro-country within a country.

One of the ways to feed fanaticism, aside from being in the same space, is the construction of religious symbols and temples......that are already being demolished in various countries of Europe. The case of France, England, Germany, Sweden, and others. In Portugal, not only do they not stop it, they feed these ghettoes, and worse still, with our money, they support the symbols and temples.

Antonio Costa is very generous in distributing the people's money for mosques and other monuments where they pray to Allah for the death of the infidels?

Lisbon is preparing for the construction of space for the Islamic religion, in the center of the city.  South of the Tagus (River) and the port, one dreams of having their own building. What is lacking is the land. project is done, the space is adjudicated; what is missing is to free up the land and demolish the buildings so that the Mouraria Square is born, between the streets Palma and Bem Formoso.

"You can say that the street is ours," says the president of the Islamic Community of Bangladesh and vice president of the European  Association of Bangladesh. This is because door to door, there is a shop for immigrants from Asia: telecommunications, grocery stores, butchers, restaurants, clothing, souvenirs, oriental articles, newspapers, and magazines.

"The Central Mosque is on Spain Square. We are on Martim Moniz (Square). It is very long, and you need to have a (bus?) pass. There are many Muslims here, we live here, and we work here. We pray 5 times a day, we cannot go to Spain Square." Reasons for Mohd Mohabub, 44, merchant (clothing and souvenirs), who arrived in Portugal two years ago.

The new communities of immigrants have changed the sociology of Muslims residing in Portugal, estimated at 50,000 and who were between 60-70,000.  But the majority continue to be from Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau, who have energized the religion in Portugal. And with the financial support of governments and businessmen in wealthier Arab countries. And in Palmela, there is a school that trains imams.

DN Camara (Chamber of Deputies) is giving three million. A project of the Municipal Chamber of Lisbon (CML) was approved in 2012 and, according to an official municipality source, is supposed to move forward soon. "Freeing up the land is in progress," An official source of the office of councilman  Manuel Salgado assured SOL that "the process of freeing up the land in order to begin the completion of the project is in progress".

"In the framework of upgrade intervention of the public space of Mouraria, the need for better road and pedestrian accessibility of Benformoso Street was identified. For its viability, the creation of a square, between Benformoso Street and Palma Street was envisioned- Mouraria Square," explains the same source.

And he adds, "The Mouraria Square project foresees the creation of a public space and construction of three blocks for the installation of activities that permit public enjoyment, with multi-purpose functions, and the transfer of a religious space-mosque- already existing in Mouraria".

It is, adds the office of Manuel Salgado, "the relocation of installations already in existence where other aspects are added for the respective social integration of this community in a zone whose history goes back to the maintenance of the Islamic presence in the city after the Christian Reconquest."

To construct the new mosque, at a time when Lisbon is pointed out as an example of religious tolerance, a protocol was signed between the municipality and the Islamic Center of Bangladesh, Baitul Mukarram Mosque, on 31 January 2013, to agree on the terms in which it will be installed.  The preliminary architectural study of  Mouraria Square, done by architect Ines Lobo, was approved unanimously in a Chamber meeting on 25 January 2012. The leftist elite needs the Islamic vote, needs the Islamic shock troops, and it is so easy to buy petroleum from the Islamic potentates, who also send us Mohammadan settlers in hijra-as we have demonstrated here countless times. Then comes the demographic war, terrorism, our lost territories, and finally, Islamic conquest. Talk to any Muslim: they are unanimous in that Portugal and Spain (as well as Israel) belong to them because they invaded and subjugated us in the 7th century.

Naperville and Irvine: A Tale of Two Cities

 Hat tip Arutz Sheva

Yesterday,  along with a couple of hundred other people, I attended a pro-Israel rally in Irvine, California. As pro-Israel rallies always are, this was peaceful. There were plenty of Israeli and American flags, people of all ages, music, and support for the Jewish state of Israel against the terrorists and Jew-hatred of Hamas.

This is the poster that I brought:

The reaction from passing motorists was overwhelmingly supportive as they honked their horns, waved, and gave us the thumbs-up sign. Of course, there were a handful of pro-Palestinians who gave us the finger and shouted obscenities. There was no response from the rally-goers who just continued to have a good time. As the event started, we were each given a flyer that asked us not to engage with counter-demonstrators, rather to act in a peaceful, responsible manner in expressing our support for Israel and condemnation of anti-Semitism.

At the end, the Israeli and American national anthems were played.

But in Naperville, a community outside Chicago, the scene on Sunday was different. As pro-Israel demonstrators peacefully expressed their point of view, the pro-Palestinian thugs showed up in force to violently disrupt the rally, attack Jews, and call for their deaths as police apparently failed to enforce the law. It seems the pro-Israel folks had to cut short their rally and go home so as to prevent any further violence by the Palestinian side.

Par for the course, wouldn't you say?

Compare and contrast this rally in Irvine with what the other side does. Watch the loud, hateful and violent pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the US (and Europe). How many American flags do you see together with Palestinian flags? Rarely if ever.

It should tell you which side of this conflict is the right side and which is the wrong side.

Germany: Politicians Threaten Jew-Hating Asylum-Seekers With Deportation

Hat tip Politikstube. Translation by Fousesquawk.

Berlin (The Guardian)

Arguably no other Western country has seen uglier outbreaks of anti-Semitism during the last Israel-Palestinian go-around than Germany. Again, it must be pointed out that the calls for violence against Jews, the slurs shouted at synagogues are not really coming from Germans. They are Muslim immigrants and asylum-seekers.

More than any other European nation, Germany has a moral obligation to stop this in its tracks. Instead, Angela Merkel's government has continued to bring in young, unaccompanied males, of whom they know nothing about, from Muslim countries. The results have been catastrophic. Now Germany's Jews, who deserve every protection possible, are being attacked with what is becoming known in Europe as "imported anti-Semitism."

The conservative German blog, Politikstube, has an interesting piece on the recent calls of some German politicians to deport these recently-arrived Jew-haters. Politikstube is, understanbaly,  sceptimistic. The below article is translated by Fousesquawk.

Just hot air! Anti-Israel Demonstrations. Politicians threaten asylum-seekers with deportation

After anti-Israel demonstrations, politicians are demanding the deportation of asylum-seekers for Jew-hatred. These demands can be placed in the category of empty phrases, pure political symbolism. In the past, there has repeatedly been a crossing of the line in Jew Hate demonstrations without consequences, and the straight talk about the recent riots will die out as will the demand for deportation

For several years, politics has tolerated Mulsim anti-Semitism, actually looked the other way, on top of that, in tow with the system media, forced through the refugee policy with countless refugee fairy tales from 1001, but also the NGO and "better people", who greeted the imported Jew-hatred and the train stations with teddy bears.

Politics has not even been able to deport serious criminal asylum-seekers, but now deportation for participation in anti-Israel demonstrations with anti-Jewish words should be examined. Laughingly, this State (Nation) is "unwilling" to take action.

CSU (Christian Social Union Bavaria) regional group leader Alexander Dobrindt has demanded deportation for asylum-seekers who take part in hate demonstrations against Israel. "Whoever denies Israel the right to exist, chants anti-Semitic words, spreads hate against Jews and calls for violence, has forfeited his/her right of refuge and must leave our country," Dobrindt told  Bild am Sonntag.

According to the newspaper, in Nordrhein-Westfalen, several asylum-seekers participated in violent anti-Israel demonstrations. Among the suspects are "some asylum-seekers", the newspaper quoted a spokesperson for the NRW Interior Ministry. "No matter who demonstrates and equally, no matter which culture he/she grew up in, in Nordrhein-Westfalen, we do not accept any kind of hate against our Jewish citizens," NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul  told Bild am Sonntag (Source: Deutsche

Sweden: Car Fires in Eskilstuna

Hat tip Nyheter Idag and Vlad Tepes.

"There will be more cars set on fire"

On the evening of May 16, about 20 fires were set in the Swedish town of Eskilstuna. Most of the fires involved cars and are believed to be the work of gang(s) in retaliation for the recent arrest of a major criminal.

If that wasn't outrageous enough, when a Swedish TV crew (TV3) was interviewing the owner of one of the burned-out cars, an elderly woman in a wheelchair, two thugs walked by, gave the finger to the TV crew, and promised more fires were on the way. This was captured on video and is in the below article from Nyheter Idag. Translation of the written article is by Fousesquawk. We are in the process of preparing English sub-titles for the video.

*Update: Here it is. Translation by Fousesquawk.

Wheelchair-bound woman's car burned-out in Eskilstuna

Eskilstuna- In the middle of an "Efterlyst" (Wanted) interview with a wheelchair-bound woman who got her car burned in Eskilstuna, two young men come and threaten new fires.

"That will happen to more cars soon," says one of them in the clip which has been posted by "Efterlyst's" Facebook site.

On Sunday evening, about 20 fires were started around Eskilstuna, and burning objects were thrown against the police station in the city.

Police suspect that it was a coordinated attack by criminals in retaliation for the arrest of a major criminal some weeks earlier.

The program, "Efterlyst", spoke with wheelchair-bound Leila, who had her handicapped-customized car destroyed in the fires.

"People think she got the car free because she is handicapped. No, she buys the car just like you and me, and she will now buy another with her pension," says Leila's daughter.

During the interview, two masked young men show up and act threateningly.

"F--- TV3, Man. That will happen to more cars soon," says one of them giving the finger to the camera before walking on.

"What have we done to them? We have done nothing to them. Why do we deserve this here?" Leila's daughter asks herself.

See the entire clip below.

Fousesquawk comment: Since nobody has been identified publicly yet, the Swedish media cannot be more specific about the identity of the perps. Make no mistake: These are not indigenous Swedes. These are immigrant gangs from the Middle East and other places like Afghanistan. Everybody knows it, but all you get from the police, politicians, and media in Sweden is that they were "youths". Nyheter Idag is a conservative site; at least they were able to bring in the gang aspect of it.

Belgian Politician (Again) Charged With Anti-Semitism

Hat tip Joods Actueel

The Jewish Flemish-language (Dutch) news outlet, Joods Actueel, has a report on an anti-Semitic Facebook posting by Belgian MP, Hassan Aarab (Doesn't FB censor this stuff?) Translation by Fousesquawk.

CD&V (Christian Democrat and Flemish Party) council member Hassan Aarab again on the anti-Semitic tour

Hassan Aarab posting: "I love your flag just as much as you love this flag".

Post from Soso Aarab: "Awesome"

Caption: The (FB posting) from Hassan Aarab with a reaction from Soso Aarab, probably a family member

On Facebook, Aarab posted a photo with a Nazi flag which he compares with a photo of the Israeli flag, "I am no anti-Semite," reacts Aarab.

This is not the man's (first example), however. In 2014, he was discredited after he wrote to understand why Hitler wanted to exterminate the Jews. After the CD&V immediately kicked him out of the party, he put on the sackcloth and gave his apologies.

The Forum of Jewish Organizations accepted his apologies and then released a press report, "We don't file complaints no matter the cost in order to get a judgment." In a conversation with the Forum, Aarab then said that he himself would speak to young people to raise the problem of anti-Semitism.

Afterward, Aarab went to eat at Hoffy's with our then-editor-in chief, Michael Freilich, and made a visit to the Dossin Caserne, where he was informed in depth over the horrors the Nazi regime brought upon Jewish countrymen. Aarab attended a memorial in Antwerp to the victims of Nazi violence.

Hans Knoop of the FJO says you can never estimate whether someone has revised their attitude. But now it is clear to Knoop that Hassan Aarab didn't mean a bit of it.

"We will see what the CD&V does, but I cannot imagine that the party can keep somebody in its ranks who has taken anti-Semitic positions twice," says Terry Davids, director of Joods Actueel.

Former editor-in-chief, Michael Freilich feels personally hurt; in response to the GVA, the member of Parliament for the N-VA: "He sets an example, and you can be angry over what is happening in the Middle East but enunciate it in a respectful manner, not using such reprehensible statements that don't help us get one step closer to peace and just further stir emotions. CD&V must consider whether they want to have someone like this in the party."

Jan Braeckmans, chairman of the Antwerp branch of CD&V, will soon have a conversation with Aarab, who remains firm that he is no anti-Semite.

Meanwhile, the FB page of Hassan Aarab is a textbook example of how this kind of hateful message can generate hate.

Germany: Syrian Gets Life in Prison for Deadly Knife Attack

Last October 4, a then-20-year-old Syrian refugee went on a stabbing spree in Dresden. One man died and his partner was seriously wounded. The victims were apparently singled out because they were a homosexual pair.

Now the perpetrator, who has been identified only as Abdullah al-H.H., has been sentenced to life in prison. The below article from Deutsche Welle is translated by Fousesquawk.

Life imprisonment for Syrian after knife attack in Dresden

Out of Islamist and homophobic sentiment, the 21-year-old attacked a gay pair. One man died, his partner survived severe injuries.

Caption beneath photo: The defendant is led into the courtroom

In the trial over the deadly knife attack of a gay pair in Dresden, the 21-year-old defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment. According to the (conclusion) of the court, the Syrian was guilty of murder, attempted murder, and serious bodily injury, said the head judge of the Dresden Higher Regional Court, Hans  Schlüter-Staats. The State Security Senate also sees a special seriousness of the guilt.

Preventative detention included

In addition,  preventative detention under conditions is ordered for the Islamist threat known to police-that means, it must be examined in due time. With the sentence, the Senate of the Higher Regional Court of Dresden followed the demand of the federal prosecutor. The defense had not asked for a specific sentence but asked for the application of Juvenile Sentencing Law for the 21-year-old.

Memorial event for the victims of the knife attack beginning of October in the Old Town (section) of Dresden

The Syrian had stabbed a homosexual pair from Nordrhein-Westfalen in the Dresden inner city on October 4, 2020. One of the men (55) died, his 53-year-old partner survived severely injured. According to the judgment, the defendant acted out of a radical-Islamist and homophobic sentiment.  He described the course of events to a psychiatrist in prison. The trial began in mid-April.

Youth sentencing for ISIS propaganda

A. (Defendant) came to Germany in 2015 as a minor refugee. Due to propaganda for the terror network, "Islamic State" (IS) he was sentenced under youth sentencing by the Higher Regional Court in 2018, which, after an attack against law enforcement officers, was increased. He was released in September 2020 under strict conditions.

After the bloody act, he managed to escape undetected for 5 days. Almost three weeks later, he was identified by a DNA trace and arrested in the Dresden inner city-in his backpack a ham (butcher) knife was found.

New York City Attack on Jews

As I watch videos from Los Angeles and New York City this week, I feel like I'm watching re-runs of old Nazi Germany. The scenes from Europe in the past two weeks (let alone the past decade or so) have been gut-wrenching enough, but to see it in our own cities makes me furious. Jews being attacked and beaten in our own cities by savages waving those obscene flags that represent a country that never was and hopefully, never will be.

I am talking about Palestinians and their supporters.

Here is what just occurred in Midtown Manhattan. (Hat tip Robertrand77)

Let me state this clearly: I have been watching these animals in action since about 2006 when I noticed their hateful ideology sprouting on our university campuses. These are not civilized human beings. They are Jew-haters. They are latter-day Nazis.

*Update: Videos from John Paul Pagano and Vlad Tepes.

In the above reader thread, one commenter made a very poignant point: If these mopes (my word) are going to the Diamond District of New York to look for targets, this is not about Zionism.

Biden Steals Credit for Mid East Peace Deal

Has Joe Biden no shame? This man actually has the gall to stand up publicly and basically claim credit for ending the fighting between Israel and Hamas.

"Oh and I want to give a shout out to Egypt for all their help"

Full disclosure: Rather than a cease-fire, I would have preferred to see Israel wipe out every last Hamas leader and fighter in Gaza. As things stand now, we will simply await the next round of fighting 4-5 years down the road. It's as sure as the next earthquake in California.

But let's be clear: It was Egypt that brokered this deal, and if it was a good thing, they should take credit.

Instead, we have this old fool trying to take all the credit because he made a bunch of phone calls. Of course, we know that his calls were mostly to Netanyahu putting pressure on him to stop it. It wasn't Israel who launched the first rockets; it was Hamas in Gaza. Biden initially stated his support for Israel's right to defend itself, but in the end, he bowed to pressure from the radicals in his party, like Rashida Tlaib.

This is not the first time that Biden has tried to steal the stage. He actually had one past presidential campaign destroyed because it was revealed that he had plagiarized part of a speech from a British public figure. His standard line is, "I'm the guy who....".

While Fox News sees through Biden's shameful credit grab, CNN does not.

As a retired DEA agent, I am reminded of an old DEA joke about the FBI, the latter organization noted for their obsession to be front and center in every case in which they work with other law enforcement agencies. I have to clean it up, but it goes something like this:

An FBI agent and a DEA agent have a bet on who has the best detector dog.

The DEA agent sends his dog into an apartment where cocaine is hidden. After 5 minutes, the DEA dog comes out of the apartment with a kilo of cocaine in its mouth.

The FBI agent then sends his dog into another apartment where cocaine is hidden. After half an hour, the FBI dog comes out with nothing. It then grabs the cocaine from the DEA dog, %$#& the DEA dog in *^%$#, and calls a press conference.

As I progressed in my DEA career, I learned that other federal agencies had the same joke only substituting the facts according to what they enforced. For example, the Secret Service dog would come out with counterfeit cash in its mouth, the ATF dog would come out with a bomb etc.

That's Joe Biden.

It is good that he has promised to resupply the Israelis with Iron Dome defenses. It is not good that the American taxpayer has to foot the bill to rebuild the terror state of Gaza even if it is done through the Palestinian Authority, which controls the West Bank-not Gaza. What obligation do we have to rebuild Gaza?

If he wants to make himself useful, he can get his Justice Department to start prosecuting these pro-Palestinian savages who are beating up Jews on the streets of our cities. I believe it's called federal hate crimes.

What a shameless and feckless president we have in Joe Biden.

More Portuguese Reaction to the Public Prayer in Lisbon

Hat tip Totalitarismo Universalista. Translation by Fousesquawk.

Yesterday, we cross-posted a story on the recent takeover by praying Muslims of a square in Lisbon named in honor of a Crusader martyr, Martim Moniz. It included a brief translation from a Portuguese blog protesting the prayer.

Today, we are translating another article from a different Portuguese blog, Totalitarismo Universalista. The writer pulls no punches. I have chosen to delete one word from the translation.

On the celebration of the end of Ramadan on Martim Moniz (Sq) 2021

Few things are more symptomatic of the state in which Portugal finds itself than to look at Martim Moniz Square in Lisbon during Ramadan. This photo was taken May 12.

I would guess that the majority of readers of this blog must know that Martim Moniz is a martyr of the Portuguese Reconquest

"According to legend, it was a noble knight who fought with heroism during the siege of Lisbon, on the side of Christian forces under the command of King D. Afonso Henriques (1112-1185). On seeing the opening of a door of the Moorish castle, he attacked it by himself, sacrificing his life by crossing his own body in the opening as a way of preventing its closure by the defenders. This heroic gesture allowed the gaining of time necessary for the arrival of his fellow-fighters, who thus, succeeded in penetrating the castle. In his honor, this entry became known as "The door of Martim Moniz". With this gesture, he became a glorious Christian knight."

Now, it is so insulting that the Muslims fill precisely this square, which has the name of this martyr, to celebrate the end of their sacred month, Ramadan. Why? Because this square represents the greatest exponent of the Portuguese sacrifice against the followers of the  (deleted) "prophet". To fill it with Muslims is a deliberate affront to the Portuguese, and to spit on our history and defecate on the blood shed by our ancestors, not to mention being sadly symptomatic that a majority of our compatriots don't seem to consider this situation important.

To begin with, nobody should pray on the street, or even in the pedestrian zones of a square. The street is public, it belongs to all Portuguese, so no religious group should be able to take it over.  A procession that courses along the streets is one thing, another thing is for a group of persons who belong to a religious group to deliberately and consciously block a street/square for long periods of time, in the clear attempt to impose or intimidate non-believers.

These types shouldn't even be in Portugal, but once they are, they should opt for Avenida Alvara Cinhal, or for Avenida Mario Soares, or for a street/square of some other stateless scoundrel of that genre. In no circumstance should Muslims be able to take over Martim Moniz Square for religious purposes. To accept their presence on that space is not to be tolerated, much less virtuous....and simply to be defeated.
