"Dear Zoom": Leftist Academic Group Protest Take Down of Rabab Abdulhadi's Webinar

"Therefore, we demand that Zoom stop targeting Palestine-focused scholarship and teaching events: in particular, cease your repeated targeting of programming by AMED studies and collaborating institutions, individuals and organizations. We further demand that you follow through on your word to not suppress Academic Freedom on this and all issues related to social justice, decolonization, and struggles for freedom."

The California Scholars for Academic Freedom (CSFA) is one of those dime-a-dozen groups of leftwing professors that infest academics today. A few weeks ago, they wrote a letter to Zoom Video Communications to protest Zoom's decision not to be associated with a virtual seminar hosted by radical San Francisco State University professor Rabab Abdulhadi, which was to feature Leila Khaled, a convicted and unrepentant skyjacker from decades ago, who now lives in Jordan.

Not only did Abdulhadi throw one of her trademark, self-pitying hissy-fits, but the CSAF also came rushing to her side with a scholarly-worded letter that began, "Dear Zoom".

You can read the indignant letter here from the CSAF website.

And guess whose name is at the very top of the list of scholarly signees: Why none other than our old  friend and Campus Watch legend, Mark LeVine of UC Irvine. (That capital V is not a typo.)

LeVine has won more Campus Watch "Howler of the Month" awards than tennis legend, Rafael Nadal, has won French Opens.

But I digress.

The only other name I recognize as a signer of this silly letter is Professor David Klein of California State University at Northridge. Last we heard from him, he was using the CSUN official campus server to urge his students to boycott Israel or some such nonsense. That was back in 2012, so I see he is still fighting the good battle.

It's great to see that CSAF is defending the right of Abdulhadi and her gang to bring in a convicted and unrepentant terrorist to speak for SFSU, but where is this bunch when pro-Israel or pro-America-conservative speakers are shouted down on American campuses? Are they rushing to defend academic freedom? Where are they when conservative professors are being hounded on campus with demands they be fired because they don't support BLM, BDS, Antifa, or the Democrat party?

These people miss the point entirely. It's not because Leila Khaled is a critic of Israel that she should not have been given a forum in the US. It is because she is an unrepentant skyjacker-an unrepentant terrorist.
