Orange County: Amy Phan West Leading Republican Contenders for California's 47th District

Amy Phan West

A few weeks ago, I posted a piece about Amy Phan West, who is running for the Republican nomination to challenge Katie Porter for California's 47th District in the House of Representatives. Initially, her candidacy was for the 45th District, but due to redistricting, it will now be the 47th.

I was contacted by Amy today who informs me that a new poll is showing her in the lead among Republican candidates.

I think this is a positive development. Not only is Amy a bright contrast to Katie Porter's tired old liberal policies, I think she represents fresh, new blood for the Republicans, a party that badly needs fresh new faces, especially in California.

I will be having more to say about Amy Phan West as the campaign progresses. If you live in this district, please consider her candidacy.

(Almost) April in Portugal

"I found my April dream in Portugal with you...."

# 9: Get naked and attack people on the street

It would have been more fitting if the protagonist in this story had waited one more day to walk around naked in Lisbon attacking people. I guess he thought it was April 1, but it was actually March 31. Turns out our hero was in Portugal illegally, having reportedly arrived from Morocco. Not sure if he was dressed or naked when he passed through Customs and Immigration checks.

For the benefit of all you non-informed readers out there, the song, April in Portugal, is best known for.....uh, naked guys walking around Lisbon beating and threatening people.

At any rate, here is the story from today's Correio da Manhã  (CM), translated by Fousesquawk. A XXX video of the incident is also available for viewing.

GNR* soldier beaten by man with mental problems in Lisbon

Guard intervened when the man threatened other people

by Miguel Curado and João Carlos Rodrigues-15:49

A soldier with the GNR, who, CM has learned, works as a courier with the Security and State Honors Unit of this security force, was savagely attacked by a man with mental problems on Thursday morning in Lisbon.

A source in the PSP** told CM that the attack occurred around 11:35  next to the Earthquake Steps, in the Campo do Ourique zone in Lisbon.

The attacker is a foreign man (reportedly Moroccan) who showed signs of mental problems while wandering around public space.

The GNR soldier intervened as the man was threatening others and causing damage.

It was then that the guard was savagely punched and kicked by the man, who moments after attacking the soldier, completely undressed.

The immigrant, who was found to be undocumented, then tried to forcibly enter a Carris bus.

The PSP intervened and, faced with obvious mental problems on the part of the attacker, took him to the San Francisco Xavier hospital. The above-mentioned source of the PSP told CM that the man is being held at the psychiatric ward of this hospital. He is not yet under arrest pending the medical evaluation.

The guard who was attacked did not need hospital treatment. Since it was a public offense, there was no need for the victim to file a complaint.

Oscar Madness and Academic Madness

Hat tip The College Fix and Forbes

"Some argue that this is not about Will Smith and Chris Rock being Black or Will Smith “setting Black people back.” This is about a much larger systemic issue rooted in white supremacist culture designed to police the behavior of Blacks amongst the who’s who in Hollywood and beyond. Respectability politics suggest that equity and fair treatment require that Black people — both inside and outside of Hollywood — conduct ourselves in a manner deemed acceptable to whites. Furthermore, expressing any emotion other than complacence, apathy, or agreeance directly violates those norms, disqualifying Black people from receiving the same equitable treatment that whites enjoy as a birthright. And sadly, there is a large group of Blacks who have internalized this toxic messaging."

-Maia Hoskin

Loyola Marymount University

I have very little to say about the Will Smith-Chrtis Rock incident at the Oscars Sunday night. I don't watch the Oscars. It is a freak show and has been for several decades. Every year, at least one person makes an idiot of  him or herself.

Everybody is commenting on the incident, so I'm sure nobody cares what I think about it. To me, it's not a big deal. I do care, however, when somebody who has a voice tries to turn it into a racial matter (both Rock and Smith are black). Now we have a professor at Loyola Marymount University (of Los Angeles) named Maia Hoskin, who writes in Forbes that the incident was just another example of white supremacy in action. The College Fix has a link to her Forbes article.

Lunacy at the Oscar's is no big deal. Lunacy in academia is a big deal because it affects our children who are university students. It is this type of thinking, that sees a dustup between two black guys as having anything to do with the concept of white supremacy. What happened Sunday night was unfortunate and unacceptable-not just according to white standards of behavior as Haskins seems to think, but for everybody. I would remind Professor Haskin that Smith has apologized for his action.

I would also point out that any punishment to Smith has yet to be decided or handed out. (There has yet to be any policing of Smith in Hoskin's words) I have watched the re-runs of the incident, and I didn't see any white people in the audience berating Smith after his act. Did anybody, white or otherwise, take the microfone and condemn Smith's action? (Maybe, I wasn't watching the show.) Yes, plenty of people in Hollywood, black and white, have commented afterward, but it seems that, at the time, the show simply went on.

What Haskins is doing is what so many activists in academia do, both white and black, when it comes to race. They are dividing people by race. They don't want to see Americans come together. They want to see us in separate and competing tribes. To do that, they stretch the truth and turn it on its head. Rather than discuss actual incidents of racism, they turn everything into questions of racism and white supremacy. Thus, an incident that involved no white person becomes an example of white supremacy. We have heard some people make the claim that attacks upon Asians or Jews, when committed by blacks or other minorities, are also examples of white supremacy. This is not coming from drunks in bars. It is coming chiefly out of our universities. It represents the dominant thinking in our universities these days, the ultimate example of "wokeness".

To sum it up, let Smith and Rock iron out their differences. I don't care how Hollywood handles it. Next year, somebody else will "steal the show" at the Oscars. I do care how issues like this are being handled on our university campuses, however. Haskin's article is just another example of the twisted thinking that our children are being subjected to in academia.

Another Barbaric Attack in Israel

Arabs handing out candy in Gaza to celebrate the murder of five people in Israel by a Palestinian terrorist

I am cross-posting a news article from the Times of Israel reporting that yet another Arab terrorist attack has taken place in Israel, this time in the town of Bnei Brak. It appears that a lone gunman shot and killed 5 Israelis including a police officer before another officer shot and killed the terrorist.

Naturally, terror organizations in the region, like Hamas and Islamic Jihad, praised the attack. In Gaza, people handed out candy in the streets in celebration of the murders.

Is this the start of another intifada? Eleven people have been killed in the past week in Israel. If so, you can bet that here in the US, Palestinian supporters in our cities and our campuses will be chanting, "Long live the intifada". It is sickening. It is revolting. It is the chant of Nazis.

But with every new slaughter that takes place at the hands of these animals, you can bet that the American people will stand ever more solidly with the Jewish state of Israel. That's because Americans stand with decency, not with barbarism.

France: The November 13 Terror Trial Continues

Mohamed Abrini

Today in Paris, the November 13, 2015 terror attack trial resumed with the testimony of Mohamed Abrini, a Belgian citizen of Moroccan origin. He is suspected of helping to plan the November 13 attacks in Paris and Saint-Denis, as well as the 2016 bombing attacks in Brussels. On Tuesday, he testified that he had refused to carry out the Paris attacks and that the chief remaining defendant, Salah Abdeslam, the only surviving member of the November 13 commandos, "took his place".

The below article from Le Figaro is translated by Fousesquawk.

November 13 trial: Abrini states that Abdeslam "took his place" for the attacks

Caption beneath image: The (testimony) of Mohamed Abrini continued on Tuesday, 29 March. That of Salah Abdeslam is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

Mohamed Abrini states that Salah Abdeslam, the only surviving member still alive among the commandos, had not been included in the initial plan.

The Belgian Mohamed Abrini stated on Tuesday, March 29 at the 13 November trial that he had been "included" in the attacks at Paris and Saint-Denis, contrary to Salah Abdeslam, who finally "took his place" when he declined to participate.

The "man in the hat", known for having abandoned his cart full of explosives during the attacks in Brussels in March 2016, confirmed before the special criminal court in Paris that he would have been part of the jihadist commandos who caused 130 deaths in Paris and Saint-Denis in 2015. Two months earlier, in September, he explains to the court, in Belgium, he meets with Abdelhamid Abaaoud, future terrace shooter, who (would) be killed 5 days after November 13 by police. "He tells me, 'you're going to be part of a project." At that time, "I don't know that it's the Bataclan, I don't know that it is France," Mohamed Abrini states. "I don't say yes, I don't say no, I say nothing," and "I take back my life, " he continues.

"Salah Abdeslam, he would never do it"

Later- the court fails to establish when, in spite of its repeated questions, he warned Brahim Abdeslam, older brother of Salah Abdeslam, who (Brahim) would blow himself up in a Parisian bar, that he (Abrini) would not participate in the attack: "I can't go and kill ordinary people like that in the street," he repeats from the dock. So, since there is an "additional explosive vest, an additional Kalashnikov, Brahim Abdeslam turned to his brother," states Mohamed Abrini.

He states that Salah Abdeslam, the only member of the commandos still alive, was not included in the initial plan. "Me, I knew that Salah Abdeslam would never do it. I saw determined people...", says Mohamed Abrini again. "I don't say this to defend him, I don't care." His testimony continued in the afternoon. That of Salah Abdeslam is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

SUNY Brockport Update

Recently, we posted a story about the State University of New York at Brockport, where a convicted cop-killer was invited to speak. In the announcement of the appearance of ex-con Anthony Bottom, he was described as a "political prisoner". That (and the invitation to speak itself) led to many objections.

Here is an update on the matter from Campus Reform. It is noted that the president of the university has changed this event to a virtual event (online).

All I can add at this point is to say shame on this university. This is so emblematic of the moral and intellectual rot that has infected American universities for decades. It is reaching critical mass.

The Lessons from the Latest Attacks in Israel

This article first appeared in the Times of Israel Blogs.

It's been a busy month in Israel as far as Palestinian terror arracks are concerned. On March 22, in the city of Beersheba, a lone attacker went on a car-ramming and stabbing rampage that killed four people (three women and one man) before he was shot to death by an armed civilian who was at the scene. The suspect is believed to be linked to ISIS, and his act was praised by Hamas, the terror organization that rules Gaza.

That incident was preceded the previous weekend by two separate stabbing incidents by lone attackers, one of whom was arrested and the other shot and wounded by police.

Then, Sunday night, two gunmen attacked police in the city of Hadera, killing two and wounding several before they were shot and killed by two Border Patrol officers who were having dinner in a nearby restaurant. Both of the dead terrorists are believed to have been linked to ISIS. Their act was praised as a "heroic operation" by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The victims were two young officers, both 19, one male and one female.

What lesson should we learn about these incidents? It is the same lesson we should have learned decades ago. It is the lesson we should have learned after the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre. It is the same lesson we should have learned after the Achille Lauro incident in the 1980s. It is the same lesson we should have learned after all the sky-jackings, the suicide bombings of buses and pizza parlors in Israel. I could go on and on.

One lesson is for those in the US who want to disarm society and leave people defenseless in the face of all the violent crime that plagues us. Israel has proven that an armed and properly trained public is vital to public safety. In one case, it was a nearby bus driver who ended the rampage in Beersheba. In the other case, it was two officers having dinner in a nearby restaurant and fortunately armed, who ended the attack in Hadera.

Even more important, however, the incidents this month, just like the thousands of previous incidents should illustrate clearly to us who the good guys are and who the bad guys are. Note that the attackers identify with ISIS. Note that Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad praised the attacks as "heroic".

As if attacking innocent civilians, including women, is an act of heroism. It is an act of barbarism. There is something dreadfully wrong with a mentality and a culture that salutes the killing of innocent men, women, and children. Oh yes. They kill children too.

And this is what you have on the Palestinian side. Don't think that this is just Israel's problem. These barbarians go after civilians from other countries too. In the Achille Lauro incident, they threw an elderly Jewish American man named Leon Klinghoffer overboard in his wheelchair. An act of true heroism, indeed. I could go on and on.

And this is the cause that is championed in universities all over the US, Canada, and Europe. The Palestinian cause. It has infected our campuses with Jew-hatred for years now, much of it personally witnessed by this writer. From there, it has metastasized into society at large, spurred on by people in Congress like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, both anti-Semites.

Former President Donald Trump, to his credit, cut off Palestinian funding. President Biden, regrettably, has restored it. It would be nice to think that Biden would reconsider his decision, but I won't be holding my breath.

Spain: Police Take Down Gang of N African Thieves Victimizing Foreign Travelers-Including Ukrainian Refugees

Another case of Ukrainian refugees being victimized after they arrive in Europe. Previously, we have reported on sexual assaults against Ukrainian refugee women in Germany and Sweden at the hands of immigrants/refugees from other parts of the world.

Now comes this news out of Spain, where are a gang of North Africans preying on foreign tourists have been arrested. Among their victims was a Ukrainian family fleeing from the war.

The below article from La Razon (Spain) is translated from Spanish by Fousesquawk.

Civil Guard dismantles a group of Maghrebians (N. Africans) who robbed Ukrainian families fleeing the war on the highway

They took advantage of the victims' situation, their lack of knowledge of the language and of the area they found themselves

J.M. Zuloaga

Madrid, posted 3-27-22 10:47

Last update: 3-27-22 11:42

The Civil Guard has arrested R.M.J. (47) and identified another person as the alleged perpetrators of 8 crimes of random theft- one of them attempted and another three for damages to the interior of cars parked in service areas. They form part of a group of Maghrebians (N. Africans) who are involved in this type of criminal activity. The total of possessions and money taken amounts to more than 10,250 euros. Among their victims were Ukrainian families who were fleeing the war.

It involved a very active criminal group, specializing in thefts in service areas, and who selected the victims among older couples and always in vehicles of foreign origin (plates), taking advantage of their trips to services or establishments in areas not covered by security cameras.

After the choice of their target, one of the perpetrators would distract the victims, asking for information of some type, or flattening one of the rear tires, while the other would move unseen toward the vehicle; stealing bags, backpacks, wallets, or valuable electronic devices.

Information obtained by the Civil Guard led to the arrest of the leader of the group in a service area of Alfajarin (Zaragoza), and the identification of another of the members of this itinerant gang operating in service areas of highways A-1, A-62, and AP7, which gives an example of their mobility and versatility.

Among the victims of this stands out a family of Ukrainian nationality who were fleeing the war to settle in our country, and from whom was stolen the money and what few articles of value they had managed to leave Ukraine with, further aggravating their helpless situation. This family reported that, on March 3, when they were traveling in their car from Ukraine with the intention of residing in Spain, while making a bathroom and rest stop in an area of the AP-7 highway in the province of Castellon, a group of 5 individuals approached them to tell them they had a flat tire and offer them help.

While one of them kept them busy, the others took advantage of the fact that the vehicle was open to take some 7,000 euros, jewels, plane tickets, keys to the apartment where they lived in Ukraine, and a mobile phone among other possessions from the interior.

The selection of foreign national victims was not by chance, rather they always chose foreigners in transit to take advantage of the language barriers they had when filing a complaint, as well as the subsequent difficulties encountered. in the judicial process, both attending hearings and identifying the perpetrators, thus providing much criminal impunity.

In addition, when they felt that they had already devastated a certain area or when the police presence increased considerably, they changed the area of operations. The perpetrators are repeat offenders and have a long previous history of similar offenses. They specialize in this type of theft due to its low penal distinction in dealing with less serious crimes.

Palestinian Wedding Song: "Here Comes Putin...."

Hat tip MemriTV

The Middle East Media Research Insitute has published the video of a Palestinian wedding party song which gives you an indication of where their sympathies lie in terms of the Ukrainian war, China, Taiwan, and the US. MemriTV has added English sub-titles since the song is in Arabic.

It should be remembered that President Trump cut off Palestinian funding and President Biden has restored it.

I wonder if they also played the Palestinian National Anthem (PNA) at the reception. I think I should dust off my old posting of the PNA, as performed by Ace Frehley and his suicide guitar. Music Maestro......

Middle East Studies Association Vote to Endorse Academic Boycott of Israel

There is a lot wrong in our universities today. One of the worst is MESA, the Middle East Studies Association, made up of professors in Middle East studies, which has been completely taken over by pan-Arab, anti-West, anti-Israel, and anti-Jewish figures dedicated to the demonization of the Jewish state of Israel and the furtherance of the Palestinian victim narrative. There is little to no diversity of thought with this bunch.

So it is that for what seems like the 100th time, MESA has come out with a vote to call for the academic boycott of Israel. In and of itself, this is an attack on academic freedom-as though supporters of Israel or representatives of Israel should have no voice in academia. What a vicious lie.

My friends at the AMCHA Initiative, an organization founded to fight anti-Semitism in our universities, has condemned the vote and is circulating a petition to the University of California Academic Council for stakeholders in California universities and/or California residents to sign opposing the boycott. I have signed.

You can view AMCHA's report on this matter at the below link. It is written by Tammi Rossman Benjamin.

Joe Biden: An American Joke They Tell in Poland

As expected, President Biden embarrassed himself in Poland. As I write, the White House is still "clarifying" Biden's comment in a speech in Warsaw that "For God's sake, this man cannot remain in power". Just referring to what he is doing in Ukraine-not calling for regime change, the WH spin doctors insisted, all dutifully parroted by Jim Acosta and his correspondents on CNN, who spent an inordinate number of airtime minutes on the issue today stressing the WH talking points. While most people would agree with the sentiment- as do I-it is not something that a US president should casually ad-lib because it has huge diplomatic significance. The situation in Europe is hot enough as it is without Biden putting his foot in his big mouth as he is wont to do.

He also did it while speaking to American troops in Poland, implying in his now-standard rambling manner, that his 82nd Airborne audience would be going into Ukraine shortly. The spin doctors at the White House were busy cleaning that one up as well all as Old Joe was winging his way home across the Atlantic in Air Force One.

Biden likes to interject off-hand remarks into his prepared speeches to add a homey touch to his Lunch Pail Joe persona. With his declining cognitive skills, the results are just plain ugly-scary if you consider that he is now president with a war raging in Europe. But Old Joe likes to sound tough.

If Joe wants to look tough in the face of Putin, he could allow our Polish allies to transfer those MIGS to Ukraine. He could open up the US for oil drilling again and make us energy self-sufficient, as we were under President Trump. He could help Europe wean itself off Russian natural gas by filling the void with ours. And by all means, increase the US/NATO presence in Eastern Europe as a warning to Putin that he cannot invade a NATO country.

But there is a silver lining. After so many years of being the butt of American Polish jokes, our friends in Poland now have a rich stock of American jokes to tell-thanks to Joe Biden.

Sweden: Police Shootout in Stockholm (Rinkeby)

Hat tip Vlad Tepes and Gates of Vienna. Translation by Fousesquawk.

Just another Friday afternoon in Rinkeby, the mostly Muslim quarter of Stockholm, an area beset by violent crime and periodic riots. Police were called to the scene of a reported shootout and were met by gunfire upon arrival. Two suspects are in custody.

The Scorpions (mentioned in the video), aka Black Scorpions, is a gang that is related to the Black Cobras, an immigrant gang in Denmark that has spread to Sweden.

Is Hezbollah Poised to Send Fighters to Help Russia?

The Italian newspaper, Il Giornale, is running a story today that reports rumors of possible use of Lebanese Hezbollah fighters to assist the Russian forces in Ukraine. According to this story, members of the Wagner Group, a Russian paramilitary organization, met with Hezbollah leaders in Beirut this week, and as a result of their agreement, some 800 Hezbollah fighters may be on their way to Belarus, and then to Ukraine. The story has not been officially confirmed.

The below article is translated by Fousesquawk.

800 Hezbollah militiamen in Ukraine: The czar's extreme move

26 March 2022-12:12

Rumors out of Russia and Ukraine speak of almost 800 militiamen of the Lebanese Shiite movement ready to depart to the war

Mauro Indelicato

The Russians are reportedly thinking of enlisting almost 800 Hezbollah militiamen into their ranks. The new rumor about the war in Ukraine has come directly from Russia, specifically, the newspaper, Novaya Gazeta. This is one of the voices of the opposition, always having declared themselves as being autonomous and independent from the Kremlin line.

The czar's extreme move

The news was also picked up and reprinted by the media in Kiev. According to details reported, contractors of the private group, Wagner, reportedly went to Lebanon convincing Hezbollah leaders to give assistance to the Russian action in Ukraine.

Those from the Lebanese Shiite movement who take part in the conflict in Donbass could receive at least 1,500 dollars a month. The negotiation reportedly finished in the past few hours, and the first 200 Hezbollah militiamen could already arrive in Belarus by the end of March, from where they would be taken to Ukraine.

The news has not been met with comments from other parties. At the moment, no statements from official sources in Kiev have been recorded in this sense. It is not the first time there has been talk of combatants coming from the Middle East to help Russia.

In the past few days, there had been talk of at least 16,000 Syrians close to being placed along Russian lines. A rumor that came out after the words pronounced by Putin on 11 March, in which (he said), " is good to help those from the Middle East who want to help our armed forces in the Donbass". According to intelligence from Kiev, those words concealed the desire of the Kremlin to take fighters from the Syrian theatre, where Moscow is the absolute protagonist being the principal ally of the government of Bashar Al-Assad.

But the pro-Russian "Syrian legion" has never become reality. A few days ago, the Pentagon itself denied the presence of Syrian fighters in Ukraine. Perhaps, the Russian president wanted to postpone the arrival of the Syrians or the information relayed from Kiev was not accurate.

Previous relations between Russia and Hezbollah

Hezbollah is a Lebanese Shiite movement well-rooted in the south of the country, that is along the border with Israel. In 2006, a war broke out between the Shiites and the Jewish state which caused hundreds of victims in a few days.

Between the movement (present within Beirut institutions as a party but also having paramilitary forces at its disposal) and Russia, the convergence is shown by the Syrian scenario. Both the Russians and Hezbollah are active in Syria supporting Assad. It is estimated that dozens of militant Shiites have died in these past few years at the side of Syrian forces.

Any presence of Shiites on the Ukrainian chessboard would not be welcomed by Israel. The movement is, in fact, financed in large part by Iran and is strongly tied to Teheran, considered by the Jewish state as the principal enemy to its own security.

Italy: Saman Abbas' Cousin Extradited-Refuses to Answer Questions

Saman Abbas

Last year, Italy was shocked by the apparent "honor killing" of Saman Abbas, an 18-year-old Pakistani girl who disappeared after refusing to be married to a cousin in Pakistan. Suspects in the case include two cousins, an uncle, and even her two parents. Following the extradition from Spain this week of one of the cousins, Italy now has three of the above in custody. Saman's parents are still free in Pakistan.

The below article from Il Giornale reports that Nomanhulaq Nomanhulaq, the cousin extradited from Spain, has refused to answer questions during his initial interrogation. Translation of the article by Fousesquawk.

Saman's cousin doesn't answer the magistrates

25 March 2022-16:35

Nomanhulaq Nomanhulaq, the cousin of Saman Abbas, did not respond to the questions of the prosecutor. "My client maintains he is unrelated to the facts," the lawyer says.

Rosa Scognamiglio

Nomanhulaq Nomanhulaq, the cousin of Saman Abbas, under investigation for murder and concealing the body of the young girl who disappeared on April 30, 2021, from Novellara, Reggio Emiliano, invoked the right of not answering. "My client claims he is unrelated to the facts," stated the attorney for the 35-year-old Pakistani, Luigi Scarcella, at the conclusion of the interrogation.

The interrogation

The interrogation began at 12 this morning. Nomanhulaq Nomanhulaq preferred not to answer the questions of prosecutor  Laura Galli and investigating judge Luca Ramponi, chief of the investigation into the homicide of the 18-year-old Pakistani girl.  The 35-year-old, in video hookup from the jail at Reggio Emilia where he has been held since last Tuesday, invoked the right of not answering, using, in fact, the same defensive strategy of Ikram Ijaz (the other cousin of Saman) and of the uncle, Danish Hasnain, considered by investigators to be the "material perpetrator of the crime". There are still fugitives in Pakistan, however, the parents of the girl, Shabbar Abbas and Nazia Shaheen, for whom there is an international arrest warrant outstanding. According to the investigators, they are alleged to have planned the homicide of their first child because she was reportedly opposed to the forced marriage to a cousin in her homeland.

"Unrelated to the facts"

"My client contested all the charges against him and maintained he was unrelated to the facts," attorney Luigi Scarcella, lawyer for Nomanhulaq Nomanhulaq, noted at the conclusion of today's hearing. The 35-year-old, a fugitive for more than 9 months, was captured in Barcelona on February 14 following intense activity by the Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri of Reggio Emilia, assisted by the Police International Cooperation Service  (SCIP) of the Department of Public Security. The extradition was concluded Tuesday morning when the Pakistani landed at the "Marconi" airport of Bologna. Escorted by Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Reggio Emilia, he was then taken to the Reggio jail awaiting interrogation.

The video

In support of the alleged involvement of Saman's relatives in the criminal plan, there is reportedly a video that records a group of three persons heading for the fields near the residence of Saman in Novellara. The recording is time-stamped 29 April 2021. The three individuals are carrying two shovels and a bucket, as well as a blue bag and a crowbar. In other video segments, the same persons are seen returning after about 2 and a half hours. The subsequent investigative developments have confirmed they were Nomanhulaq Nomanhulaq, Ikram Ijaz, and Danish Hasnain.

Biden's Curious Response to the Question of Running for Re-Election

During President Biden's news conference today, one of the reporters asked him about the possibility of Donald Trump running against him for the presidency in 2024. His answer (and I am paraphrasing) was that he had committed when he ran (in 2016) that he would not run for re-election. What changed his mind was what he had seen in Virginia when people were demonstrating with swastikas etc. Though he didn't mention Charlottesville by name, it was clear he was referring to the Charlottesville events in August 2017 when white nationalists demonstrated in the university town and were confronted by counter-protesters. By the time it was over, one woman counter-protester was struck intentionally by a car and killed. It was not a proud day in the history of a historic town.

My point here is not to defend any of the above events, but to question the timing of Biden's statement. Was he running for president prior to August 11-12, 2017? It seems highly unlikely that prior to the above date (less than a year into Trump's term), Biden would be talking about his own RE-ELECTION to the White House when there was no presidential campaign underway, primary or otherwise.

Here is a video of the press conference. The referenced remarks by Biden come after the 18-minute mark.

School Indoctrination: If It's Wrong, It's Wrong

Norco is a small community near Riverside in Southern California. This week, a private Christian school in Norco made nationwide news when it was revealed that one of its teachers was leading her 4-5-year-old  pupils in chants against President Biden. The Daily Caller, a conservative news outlet, to its credit, has put up a post on the story.

Full disclosure: I am not a member of Joe Biden's fan club. I think he is the worst president in US history. That said, there is no way I can defend what this teacher did.  At the same time that we are decrying liberal indoctrination of our kids from K-university, we cannot defend or make excuses for what happened in Norco. While I objected to teachers leading their kids on chants glorifying then-President Barack Obama, and I object to our kids being taught Critical Race Theory, and I object to our kids being taught that gender is a fluid concept, I also object to our kids being taught in school that Joe Biden is a lousy president who should be kicked out of office-however much I may believe it.

As conservatives, we have to be consistent in our philosophy and not allow it to hang on which ideological side of the fence we are on. Every time we see a Supreme Court nomination come before the Senate for consideration and vote, we are reminded of the hypocrisy and double standards of those in the US Senate.

When I was a 10-year-old kid, my parents pulled me out of public school and stuck me in a private military school for 4 years. The reason was I was a brat who was not doing well in my grades and behavior, and they wanted a school that would instill some discipline and respect in me. They didn't send me to military school to be politically indoctrinated. By the same token, I'm sure the parents whose children are in Turning Point Christian School want their kids to get a quality education as well as religious instruction. They were not paying their money to have some teacher bash the sitting president-be it Trump or Biden.

It is true that we are in a battle for the minds of our children, but if we are to retain any degree of credibility with young people, we have to be consistent and unafraid to call out our own side when it screws up.

Belgium: Six Years Later, Molenbeek Is Still a "Hellhole"

Today, Belgium observed the 6th anniversary of the Islamist terror attacks that struck Brussels. In the below article in the Dutch-language alternative news site, Pal Nws, Wannes Neukermans says that not much has changed in the Brussels neighborhood of Molenbeek, where some of the terrorists lived. Nor have the victims yet received the compensation they were supposed to receive from the government.

The below article is translated by Fousesquawk.

Six years after attacks in Brussels: Molenbeek is still a "hellhole", victims still awaiting compensation

Caption below photo: Emergency services on Wetstraat at the Maalbeek metro station right after the attack.

The attacks at Zavendam Airport and the Maalbeek metro station were exactly 6 years ago today. In total, there were 32 fatalities and more than 300 people injured. The perpetrators were returned  (mostly Belgian) Syria-fighters, who, in the name of the Islamic State, blew themselves up. In the Molenbeek community, a ceremony was held to commemorate the victims.

Molenbeek's mayor, Catherine Moureaux (PS) was also present at the ceremony. "The tribute we pay today to the victims of this barbaric attack is a testament of our will to celebrate life," said Moureaux. "To achieve that, we must, more than ever, avoid the segregation and ghettoization that lay behind  the drama that played out." Several perpetrators grew up in Molenbeek, where they fell prey to radicalization. And what happened? Six years after, little has changed, and the Brussels community is still teeming with Muslim extremists.

It seems the promises to drive out radicalism from Molenbeek have not been kept. The situation is so serious that non-Muslims completely avoid the worst areas. Molenbeek is often called by the nickname,  "Brussels Caliphate", (and) people even speak of "the ideal Islamist ecosystem".

Failed to do homework

The federal government issued a document last week that was supposed to show to what extent the recommendations from the investigative commission into the attacks have been followed. The N-VA Parliamentary faction first requested that document a year and a half ago. "To our great regret, we have to conclude that this government has not done its homework," reacted faction leader Peter de Roover. "They have lost sight of the fight against terrorism."

The Michel 1 government took an initial series of anti-terror measures. "But unfortunately, the drive within the federal government disapp[eared some time ago, by which, a lot of necessary recommendations were left behind," according to the N-VA. So it is still unclear what the status of the Crossroad Security Bank is, one of the spearheads of the POC, which would make information sharing easier. In addition, after six years, there is still no victim fund set up for compensation.

Still no relief for victims

Federal Parliament Member Koen Metsu (N-VA) also finds it unacceptable how the federal government treats the victims of Islamist attacks. "Victims are still not getting relief. They still have to look for help and support," he explains. "They are sent from here to there. Maybe it would be better if the government would take the millions of euros for the repatriation of ISIS supporters and (give it) to the victims."

The Vlaams Belang (party) has also denounced the government on this issue. "People who live often abroad receive lower compensation than what was agreed to, and some victims receive no compensation at all. Some were often not aware or insufficiently aware of their rights and were intimidated by some insurance experts," Parliament member Barbara Pas complains.

Meanwhile, there is a bill on the table to compensate terror victims the full 100%, even if they are not insured. "Much too little and much too late," Pas thinks. Victims of ISIS attacks meanwhile are still waiting for financial compensation.

Germany: Another Somali "Success Story"

Today in the German city of Mainz, a Somali guy attacked and stabbed several people with a knife, one critically. A nearby cop rushed to the scene and shot the perp, who is now in the hospital.

Just chalk it up to another Somali success story.

The below article from the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung is translated by Fousesquawk.

Knife attack in Mainz

Police officer shoots 32-year-old

Updated March 22, 2022-20:46

A 32-year-old man attacked and injured several people with a knife in front of a Mainz driving school. Investigators currently believe it was a personal dispute.

In the Mainz central city, a 32-year-old man attacked and injured several people with a knife in front of a driving school. A 48-year-old was critically injured Tuesday afternoon. At least two other men ages 28 and 48 suffered light injuries, the prosecutor and police report.

A police officer handling a traffic accident nearby immediately rushed to the scene. "He was able to stop the attack only by the use of his firearm and fired several shots," the investigators' report says. A 32-year-old Somali was wounded. By how many shots and how seriously was initially not clear. He is being guarded in the hospital.

The background of the attack is believed to be a personal dispute. There is no evidence of a rampage or a terrorist background. The police are investigating it as an attempted homicide.

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 15:10 at Alice Square. There is no connection with a fatal traffic accident a few hours earlier in the vicinity. A 3-year-old child was fatally injured, struck by a car while crossing a traffic light.

Sweden: School Attack Leaves Two Dead

At about 1700 hours on Monday Sweden time, police responded to a high school in the southern city of Malmo. They were called by a suspect, an 18-year-old student, who stated that he had killed two people. When police arrived, they found two women employees of the school in their 50s both dead. They had been killed by a knife, ax, or combination. The 18-year-old student was arrested and is charged with murder.

At this point, we do not know the identity of the attacker or the motive. We will follow the details as they become known.

The below headline from Expressen (see above link)  is translated by Fousesquawk.

A student arrested suspected of murder

Two women in their 50s have died after an attack at a high school in Malmo on Monday. The women were employed at the school, according to police.

*Update: The Swedish alternative media site, Fria Tider, is reporting that the suspect's name is Fabian Cederholm. The article goes on to state that Cederholm's behavior had started to change over the winter, and that he had become prone to outbursts of anger. His motive remains unknown at this point.

Sweden: Ukrainian Female Refugees Meet Other Male Refugees in Hostel

Just days ago, we were reporting a story out of Dusseldorf, Germany, where a Ukrainian female refugee was allegedly raped by two refugees from Nigeria and Iraq aboard a hotel/ship.

Now we have a somewhat similar story from Örebro, Sweden, where Ukrainian female refugees and their children were being housed in a hostel and had to contend with groups of men, believed to be Somalis and Arabs, who attempted to get into the hostel, no doubt with bad intentions.

The below article from today's Samnytt is translated by Fousesquawk.

Ukrainian women's night of terror-Somalis enter in residence: "I am so afraid that I want to go home"

Thousands of Ukrainian women and children have fled to Sweden in the past weeks. Now Samnytt can be the first media to report that some of them, who moved to Örebro, want to return to the war in Ukraine. The reason is that, after an incident during the week, when foreign men entered in their accommodation, they no longer feel safe.

" When the bombs fall, I know that, in every case, I can go down in the cellars and hide there," one of the women says.

Busloads with Ukrainian refugee women with children have arrived in Örebro in the past few weeks. A number of them have been offered bed places in the Örebro city hostel.

But the Ukrainians do not feel safe in the hostel. The background is some incidents on Sunday night-Monday morning when a number of unidentified men tried on several occasions to get to the women.

Volunteer says

Samnytt has spoken to one of the Ukrainian women at the hostel. We have also spoken to a female volunteer in Örebro who works with the women. Neither of them wants us to write their names.

By talking with both women, Samnytt has been able to put out a description of what happened Sunday night-Monday morning.

First Somalis

The first incident occurred around three am. At that time, two Somali men began to pound on the front door of the hostel. Without opening the door, the Ukrainian women attempted to talk to the men outside.

"They looked like African-Americans, if I am expressing myself correctly. They were black people. Tall and slender with black skin color," she tells Samnytt.

She explained to the men that there were only Ukrainian women and children living at the hostel, but they claimed they had a friend living there. After asking the name of the friend, she could confirm that no such person was living in the hostel.

But the men didn't give up. After a while, a third Somali man showed up outside the hostel. The women felt the situation was becoming unpleasant and went back and locked themselves in the room.

Pounded on door

In some way, one or more of the Somali men then managed to get into the hostel.

"They began to bang on the door of a woman living (there) with her two small children, ages 2 and 4. They were very scared. The 4-year-old was quiet, but the 2-year-old screamed," the volunteer says.

"They tried to get to her. The men were speaking in a foreign language. The (women)  in the room did not speak English, but knows (the sound) of English and understood that the men were speaking another language."

Then came Arabs

Around 5 in the morning, a group of Arab men came and tried to enter the hostel.

"They were not able to get into the hostel," says the volunteer.

"I spoke with the women. They are scared. In Germany, a Ukrainian female refugee was gang-raped."

Confirmed by the hostel

That a group of men tried to enter the hostel was confirmed by an employee to whom Samnytt spoke.  From the hostel's side, however, they tried to tone down what happened.

"Someone knocked on the door and wanted to find someplace to stay overnight. They were trying to find accommodation," the employee says.

In the middle of the night?

"I have not spoken to those who knocked on the door."

The hostel has now hired security to keep watch. They have also informed the Ukrainian refugees that they can either contact hostel personnel or call the police at telephone number 112 if they feel unsafe.

Police unaware of incident

Ola Olsson is duty officer with the Örebro.police. He tells Samnytt that he is unaware of the incident at the hostel on Sunday night-Monday morning.

According to the volunteer Samnytt spoke to, there is an explanation for this. The Ukrainian women did not dare call the police since they were afraid of getting into trouble.

"The interpreter told them they could not call the police since they are not registered with the Migration agency," says the volunteer.

According to Samnytt's information, a police report should have subsequently been made via the police website.

Want to go home

According to the volunteer, many of the women are so shaken by the event Sunday night-Monday morning that they regret moving to Sweden. Some even wish they had stayed in war(torn) Ukraine.

" I am so afraid that I want to go home," says one of them.

"When the bombs fall, I know that, in every case, I can go down in the cellars and hide there."

Why Is SUNY Brockport Inviting a Convicted Cop Killer to Speak?

Hat tip Algemeiner

Anthony Bottom

"History of Black Resistance, U.S. Political Prisoners & Genocide: A Conversation with Jalil Muntaqim"

- "Join Jalil Muntaqim for an intellectual conversation on his time with the Black Panthers and serving nearly 50 years as a political prisoner."

"Editors Note: SUNY Brockport does not endorse the characterization of this event."

-From SUNY Brockport website

I am cross-posting an article in the New York-based Jewish news outlet, Algemeiner, written by Patrick Dunleavy. It concerns the scheduled speaking appearance of convicted cop-killer, Anthony Bottom, aka Jalil Muntaqim, at the State University of New York at Brockport. Bottom was invited by a faculty member.

Here is more on the matter from Westside News. NY. Much of this article concerns the reaction of retired Brockport police chief Daniel Varrenti, who resigned his position as an adjunct professor at SUNY Brockport over the issue.

Fousesquawk comment: Dunleavy's article pretty much covers the issue. What I would add is that the president of the university, Heidi Macpherson, has it only half-right when she gives the go-ahead for this speaking event to take place. It appears from the above article that while the university does not endorse the speaker, the event, or whatever he has to say, she is pointing out the right to free speech.

"They're about gaining a new perspective."

I agree that Bottom has the right to say whatever he wants to say and those who sponsored him and those who want to hear him speak have the right under our law to hear his words. But shame on them.

The question is whether the university has the obligation to provide him with a platform to indoctrinate our students to his "perspective". There are always public parks in which to spout your beliefs.

I note that Bottom has spent some 50 years in prison, and the argument can be made that he has served his time. (Personally, I would prefer he got the death penalty.) If he were to tell his audience that he is deeply sorry for the lives he has taken and encourage the young people in the audience to be law-abiding citizens, I might even sponsor his speech. It appears, however, that this is not what he plans to say.

I have no previous information on SUNY Brockport, but I assume it is a typical leftist-run university that actually welcomes the likes of Bottom as their preferred speakers.

Belgium: Six Dead, Over 20 Injured as Car Plows Into Carnival Parade

Today in the town of Strépy-Bracquegnies, south of Brussels, a car with two occupants, described as two young men, plowed at high speed into a crowd celebrating Carnival. Six people are dead and more than 20 inured. The two occupants of the car are under arrest. They reportedly have no criminal record, and authorities are saying at this point there is no indication of terrorism. Police deny that a high-speed police car chase was involved in the incident.

We are checking local Belgian news sources for more information.

*Update: The incident apparently happened around 5 am, Sunday morning as people were preparing for a Carnival parade. One of the deceased is a 5-year-old child.

*Update: From Euronews.

*Update: Suspects are identified as cousins, Paolo F. and Nino F. They are both in early 30s.

* Update:(3-22-22): At this stage, it appears not to be a deliberate or terrorist act. It initially appears to be a case of drunk and/or negligent driving (speed). The driver, Paolo F., is still in custody while his cousin has been released from custody.

Canada: Mass Shooting in Edmonton

There was a mass shooting in the early morning hours of Saturday in Edmonton, Canada. One victim has died. Two of the three suspects are in custody, and a third is being sought. At this time, it would appear that the motive is more gang-related than terrorism. (All of the suspects have Muslim names).

The below article is from CTV News of Canada.

UCLA Daily Bruin: "Raising Out-of-State Tuition Hurts LGBTQ+ Community"

About 15 years ago when I was teaching part-time at UC Irvine, it was announced by the UC system that they would increase out-of-state admissions in the name of "revenue enhancement" since out-of-state tuitions were much higher than in-state. The losers? California tax-payers who would have liked to send their kids to UC rather than pay out-of-state tuition in some other state.

Now California lawmakers, in a rare act of doing the right thing, have taken action to reduce out-of-state admissions in favor of California residents, who, after all, support the state's public universities with their taxes.

But that has not been well received by UCLA's campus newspaper, the Daily Bruin. According to the below op-ed, this will have tragic consequences for the LGBTQ+ community in the other 49 states, who look to the Golden State as a refuge from all the hate directed their way.

Only a campus newspaper could make this connection.

Not that I am insensitive to gay people being mistreated. Quite the opposite. But is the "enlightened" state of California their only hope? I can just picture all the refugees trying to cross into California from Arizona and Nevada, kinda like scenes from the Ukrainian-Polish border, right?

This is the kind of fare you read on college campus newspapers. It's really more the fault of the faculty and administrators because they are all instilling in their students the idea that everybody is a victim. A common thread I see in college papers is that the university must do more for this group and that group.

Sorry, LGBTQ+ community: On this one, I am not with you, but that does not make me a homophobe. So all you anonymous wise guys save your cards and letters.

Period Equity at UC Santa Cruz (America's Wackiest University)

"Period equity, or menstrual equity, refers to having equal access to free period products regardless of one’s gender, and, in turn, dispelling existing stigmas around menstruation."
-City on a Hill Press (UCSC)

In these dark times, it's time for some laughs, and what better source of humor is there than the University of California at Santa Cruz, America's Wackiest University and home of the Banana Slugs?

UCSC has once again become a trailblazer when it comes to recognizing marginalized groups-like women during that time of month. So now, in the name of period equity, the school has introduced tampon machines in its bathrooms-at least those designated as "all-gender" bathrooms in a particular building on campus. (Don't they mean "both gender"? Just askin'.

"Earlier this quarter, the first free menstrual supply dispensers were installed in all-gender restrooms on the third floor of the Bay Tree Bookstore and in the Redwood Building."

But Dear Readers, Let's don't be too harsh on the young lady pushing this idea. After all, she is just a young college student who is having all these ideas planted into her mind by the so-called adults who are responsible for educating her. Where else could a young person get the idea that a (publicly-funded) university should be giving out free condoms when those fortunate enough to attend the University of California at any campus can clearly pay for them? And if you think this is an equity issue, I say men can buy their own condoms as well.

Spain: Two Weeks After the Massive Border Assault at Melilla

Melilla in 2021. Where are the women and children?

Two weeks ago, we reported on the latest mass border assault by illegal migrants at the Spanish border fence at Melilla. The final figures over two days amounted to some 4,000 attempts with some 800 successfully crossing the fence, landing on Spanish soil, and thus, having to be accepted into the local migrant reception center.

So what has happened to these 800 people who crossed the border illegally injuring several border guards in the process? Those border guards are now busy processing 800+ asylum requests.

The below article from today's Gaceta de la Iberosfera is translated by Fousesquawk.

Asylum Express in Melilla: The government processes more than 800 requests since the massive assault at the fence

Caption beneath photo:  Immigrants with hooks assault the fence at Melilla. Twitter

The recent violent assaults at the Melilla border fence, which occurred at the beginning of March, not only turned the forces and security agencies of the State (FCSE) on their heads; once on Spanish territory, dozens of agents have had to process the more than 800 asylum requests ordered by the current  Executive (branch).

"They have not even respected the quarantine," point out the agents to La Gaceta de la Iberosfera. The Temporary Stay Centers (CETI) are overwhelmed: With a capacity of 782 spaces, according to a report on the health situation of the center published in the Official Bulletin of the Autonomous City of Melilla (BOME) on 25 August 2020, the occupancy of the Melilla CETI has passed 900 illegal immigrants. This circumstance has motivated the current Executive (branch) to decide to have the agents carry out an "asylum express".

The Ministry of the Interior could have opted for the "hot return" endorsed by the Constitutional Tribune, as it already did after the invasion of Ceuta in May of last year, but on this occasion, the Executive (branch) has decided to change the so-called "hot returns" for an "asylum express", a measure that is intended to leave the Melilla CETI free of occupancy.

The majority of the illegal immigrants who assaulted the Spanish border-armed with hooks and clubs- come from Sudan, followed by Malians and other origins, such as Burkina Faso, Guinea Conakry, Chad, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Libya, according to sources of FCSE. The fact that most of them are of Sudanese origin confirms that a change of the migratory flows has occurred: The immigrants who principally ended up in Libya in order to get to Europe across the central Mediterranean are now opting for the Autonomous City of Melilla, given the laxness of the current government in migrant matters.

The inaction of the Interior Ministry is causing the mafias that operate in the entire Maghreb (N Africa) to decide to mobilize more and more immigrants with the aim of establishing Spain as one of the principal avenues of entry into Europe. That is what the latest figures from the High Commissioner of the United Nations show for the refugees (ACNUR) who, at the statistical level, place our country as the objective of more than 50% of all illegal immigration arriving on European territory. More than the 5,889 illegal immigrants who entered Italy and even more than the 1,037 entries recorded in Greece. Spain has received about 56% of all illegal immigrants who arrived in Europe.

Furthermore, the FCSE agents stationed in Melilla also warn that the government decision can lead to an effective encouragement since, far from acting as a wall against illegal immigration, a message is being sent which is being understood by the thousands of sub-Saharans who are waiting on the other side of the border that, once in Spain, they will be accepted instead of being sent back to Morocco. "In less than one month, there will be spaces free, and they will know this on the other side since they are in communication at all times," police sources conclude.
