Happy Birthday, Dear Mahmoud.........

The big news this week is that our vaunted State Department has sent a birthday greeting to none other than.....

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad!!

I can hardly wait until next April 20.

"Good news, mein Fuehrer. The State Department has sent a birthday greeting.

FBI Press Release on the Attempted Bombings

My friend and colleague, Debra Glazer, has sent a letter to the editor of the Orange County Register in reaction to the FBI press release regarding the attempted shipments of explosives from Yemen to two Chicago area synagogues.
To the Editor
Orange County Register

"Today we learned that at east two suspicious parcels, originating in Yemen, were

addressed to synagogues or other Jewish institutions in the Chicago area.

And here is the resulting advice reportedly coming from the FBI’s Special Agent

Ross Rice: “ Since two of the suspicious packages that were intercepted were

addressed to religious institutions in Chicago, all churches, synagogues and

mosques in the Chicago area should be vigilant for any unsolicited or unexpected

packages, especially those originating from overseas locations.”

Once again, the FBI shows that it cannot distinguish between the perpetrator and

the victim. No news reports have stated that any mosque was targeted by these

suspicious parcels. Yet the FBI, in its mission to be politically correct,

sensitive and inclusive above all else, is leaving the erroneous impression that

the Yemeni terrorists may be targeting mosques. No, Mr. Ross, they were

targeting synagogues and Jewish institutions, not mosques. Why can’t you

publicly acknowledge that these Islamic terrorists obviously have a particular

hatred for Jews, so much so that they are trying to deliver bombs to synagogues

and other places where Jews gather?

And, since Pres.Obama plans to be in Chicago tomorrow, on the Jewish Sabbath,

why doesn’t he make a quick visit to one of the targeted Jewish institutions to

show solidarity? That is what a great leader would do. That is what many good

people did when black churches were firebombed in the South."

Debra Glazer
Excellent point, Debra. The problem is that political correctness suppresses any discussion of perpetrators unless said perpetrators are white, Christian, Anglo-Saxon conservatives.  If you read that announcement, you might conclude that any and all religious buildings were being threatened from "overseas", for example, Norway, Tahiti, Bolivia or South Korea.

And Yet They Call Israelis "Nazis"

One of the major tactics of the anti-Israel crowd is that they constantly refer to Israelis as "the new Nazis". It is a tactic designed to de-legitimize the Jewish state in the eyes of the world. It is not only a false charge, it is utterly hypocritical. Let me give you some examples.

Did you know that to this day, Mein Kampf is a best-seller in the Arab world? The word "kampf" is  translated into Arabic as, "jihad". Another book that still sells is the (forged) "Protocols of the Elders of Zion".

And yet, they call the Israelis "Nazis".

During WW II, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, a virulent anti-Semite, wound up in Berlin, where he was a guest of Hitler.

While living in Berlin, he made a series of broadcasts to the Middle East, calling on Arabs to rise up and drive out the Jews. He also helped organized a Bosnian SS division, which participated in the killing of Jews.

And yet, the call the Israelis "Nazis".

After the creation of Israel in 1948, hundreds of thousands of Jews were driven from their homes in the Middle East, where they and their families had lived for centuries.

And yet they call the Israelis "Nazis".

During the fighting in Gaza, pro-Palestinian demonstrations were held all over North America. In Ft Lauderdale, there were calls for Jews to" go back to the ovens". In Los Angeles, there were shouts of "Heil Hitler", "Hitler rest in peace" and "F the Jews."

And yet they call the Israelis "Nazis".

The Hamas charter, which rejects any negotiations and calls for the destruction of the Jewish state, also includes a reference to the hadith which talks of the Day of Judgement when Jews will hide behind trees and the trees will call out to the Muslims to "come and kill the Jew hiding behind me."

And yet they call the Israelis "Nazis".

The leader of Hizbollah in Lebanon has called for the Jews of the world to gather in Israel so it won't be so hard to hunt them all down.

And yet they call the Israelis "Nazis".

During the terrorist attack in Mumbai, the local Chabat House was also targeted. The rabbi and his wife were tortured, brutally killed, and mutilated in front of their toddler child.

And yet  they call the Israelis "Nazis".

Today in most European countries, Jews are afraid to appear in public in Jewish garb lest they be insulted, spit at or physically attacked by young Muslim immigrants. The Jews of Malmo, Sweden are leaving in droves due to the persecution. Jewish Cemeteries and synagogues have routinely been attacked and/or defaced.

And yet they call the Israelis "Nazis".

Today in the Middle East including the Palestinian Territory in the West Bank, Jews are portrayed in the mainstream press as pigs, monkeys and blood suckers.

And yet, they call the Israelis Nazis.

Here is a cartoon posted on the "mock Israeli Wall" by  the Muslim Student Union at UC-Irvine during the annual Israeli Apartheid Week a couple of years back. It portrays Ariel Sharon.

And yet, they call Israelis Nazis.

A few years ago at UC-Irvine, an imam said that, "You can take a Jew out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the Jew."

And yet, they call the Israelis "Nazis".

I ask you...........

who are the real Nazis?

Democrats Continue to Cover Up the New Black Panther Party DOJ Voting Scandal

Here's another chapter to the on-going New Black Panther Party voting scandal and the DOJ cover-up from the Wahington Post.

Even the liberal Wahington Post sees this for what it is. Why couldn't the Democrat member of the commission simply cast his vote? How frustrating it must be to be a member of this commission and deal with the stonewalling and the cover up by the DOJ under Eric Holder-aided by the Democrats.

Democratocracy in Action in Florida

The Democratic apparatus is at it again. Just days after we learned that early voters in Nevada found their ballots pre-programmed for Harry Reid, we learn that the party's cloak and dagger guy, former President Bill Clinton, was dispatched to Florida to convince Democratic candidate Kendrick Meek to drop out of the race in favor of independent candidate Charlie Crist, who is governor.

This is the second time we know of that Clinton has secretly tried to get a Democratic candidate to drop out of a senate race. The first was Joe Sestak.

Last night on Fox's Greta Van Susteren show, Crist was interviewed and openly admitted to the effort to convince Meek to drop out. (Meek is far back in the polls and the intent is to defeat Republican conservative Marco Rubio, who is leading.) Crist also admitted to discussing the matter with White House officials-whom he refused to name.

Meek, meanwhile, is denying word that he twice promised Clinton he would drop out in favor of Crist. And what is Clinton saying? Has anybody seen him lately?

This is also reminiscient of the time a few years ago when Bob Toricelli dropped out of the New Jersey Senata race very late under Democratic pressure due to the fact that he was mired in scandal and way down in the polls. Frank Lautenberg replaced him and subsequently won.

I wonder how Florida voters feel about this sleazy move. Furthermore, I thought the Democrats were the party of the minorities (Meek is African-American). Why are the Democrats stooping so low in order to defeat Rubio? Is it because they cannot stand to see a successful, conservative Republican Hispanic sitting in Congress?

British "Journalist" Ben White at UC-Irvine

Ben White, "journalist", activist, propagandist

Last night, a guy named Ben White became the third British propagandist brought to speak at UC-Irvine by the campus  Muslim Student Union, er, Alkalima-Muslim Students at UCI (their temporary name). The first two speakers who came were Yvonne Ridley and George Galloway (Two dopes). Now comes this kid Ben White to push his book, "Israeli Apartheid-A Beginner's Guide. (indeed).  Also sponsoring the event was the newly-formed campus chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. And just who are the Students for Justice Palestine, you ask?

You don't wanna know.

White is an anti-Israel activist who makes the university rounds giving a totally one-sided account of the  Israel-Palestine conflict. This young man (he looks about 19) brought his power-point presentation to UCI in front of a crowd that was about 90% pro-Palestinian. He is a boring, pedantic speaker, who relies on his power points as an outline for his speech. With his boyish appearance, it looked like a high school valedictorian speech. After the first 4-5 minutes, I became so bored, I reached for my copy of Mad Magazine, which I had conveniently brought with me.

To summarize White's speech, it was a litany of all of Israel's "crimes" against the Palestinian people from the establishment of the state of Israel, to the settlements, to the arrests, to the blah blah blah, woof woof woof, quack quack quack. He quoted the exalted opinions of the UN, the EU, the world community, and everyone except the Sons of the Desert.
"At their annual convention today in Chicago, the Sons of the Desert condemned Israel's "illegal settlements."

Here is what he didn't talk about. Not one word about Palestinian terrorism. Not one word about the Arab wars launched against Israel. Not one word about suicide bombings. Not one word about rockets launched
into Israel by Hamas or Hizbollah.

And this guy calls himself a journalist?

Well, anyway, when the Q and A arrived, I jumped up to the microphone and asked him about an article he had written in February of 2009, which was entitled; "What about the Palestinians right of self-defense?" I read the following excerpt, which he had written. (You might want to read this sitting down.)

Your humble skunk at the garden party

“In fact, the Palestinians have indeed long been practitioners of civil disobedience, from the Revolt in 1936, to the First Intifada in the late 1980s, and right up to the present day. Palestinians are, in fact, proud of their tradition of nonviolent resistance." (White)

 (Can't make this up, folks.)

I then recounted a series of events which I had dusted off from my life's memory bank. I began with the sky-jackings of the late 1960s-70s. I mentioned the Munich Olympic massacre of 1972. I mentioned the terror attacks in Europe, such as the massacres at Vienna and Rome airports in the 1980s.  I mentioned the Achille Lauro attack, in which an elderly Jewish American named Leon Klinghofer was thrown overboard in his wheelchair. I mentioned the suicide bombings, the blowing up of buses and pizza parlors and the rocket attacks into Israel. I also brought up the inconvenient fact that one of the main figures in the "non-violent" 1936 (-1939) Revolt in Palestine was none other than the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Amin-al Husseini, who fled Jerusalem in 1937 and wound up in Berlin during WW II as a guest of Hitler, from where he made radio broadcasts to the Middle East urging his listeners to drive out the Jews. He also made his own contribution to the war effort by helping organize a Bosnian SS division, which participated in the Holocaust. I concluded by asking him to explain all that in the face of his claims of Palestinian non-violence. (I will be posting a video of this exchange shortly.)

White replied by stating that this was a typical (Alan) Dershowitz tactic. He then went on to vaguely imply that some people had fabricated the famous photos of the Grand Mufti (meeting Hitler in Berlin and reviewing Bosnian SS troops during WW II). At that point, he returned to his original  talking points without even coming close to addressing the question about his claims of Palestinian non-violence as opposed to documented terror incidents. He could not challenge the facts of those incidents.

(For you UC Santa Cruz Community Studies majors, the Grand Mufti is the one on the left.)

Grand Mufti reviewing Bosnian Waffen SS troops 1941

Yet,  the audience applauded his response. They applauded every response he made as he skirted hostile questions. He could have said the moon was made of Limburger cheese and the audience would have applauded.

About 9-10 people came up to ask questions. A few were Jewish defenders of Israel. I think a few members of  the Jewish campus group, Anteaters for Israel, were there.  I had hoped maybe the Orange County Jewish Federation or Hillel might come to make their "voices" heard, but I guess they still figure they have "won the war" with the MSU "suspension".  They don't want to hear the bad news that nothing has changed at UCI. Interestingly, with one final questioner waiting to ask a question, the moderator brought the Q and A and the event to a close-as the final questioner stood there dumb-founded. He happened to be the president of  Anteaters for Israel. Coincidence? We don't think so.

This was a typical anti-Israel event, so commonly held on university campuses. Only a handful of audience members were pro-Israel and the speaker gave a totally one-sided presentation with no mention of the 800 pound  elephants standing in the back of the room-Palestinian terrorism and the right of Israel to defend herself. This is what passes for journalism-and education on university campuses.  All in all, White is.......what's the word?
An arrogant little twit.

More Confusion at UC Beserkley

You know, I've always suspected that those folks up at UC Berkeley were on hard drugs. (Just joking. Save your cards, letters and official complaints) This latest only reinforces it.
(Daily Californian)

"The significance of the public hearing would be that it's a way to bring to light all the procedural abuses and violations of students' rights that students have experienced for almost an entire year now, and this is the first time that the public has been able to see it," said Sean Graham, a law student and member of the Campus Rights Project. "

"According to Christina Gonzales, associate dean of students, the panel chair of each hearing has the right to decide whether to grant a student's request to make the hearing open or to keep it private, which it is by default."

"At the beginning of the hearing, Zelko asked the panel of five not to proceed, calling it "unfair" 11 months after the incident. Although the chair of the panel, math professor Paul Vojta, said "it sucks" that delays had pushed back the hearing date this far, the hearing proceeded."

"Though the code states hearings are to be held 45 days after initial charges, this policy was suspended last year in response to campus-wide budget cuts and furloughs which reduced the office's ability to process cases, according to campus officials. Gonzales said the 45-day timeline is back in place for new conduct violation cases this year."

"Graham said the charges should be dropped because of the timeline's suspension, adding that he thinks the Office of Student Conduct is "using the student disciplinary process as a means of repressing student activism."

"Vojta said Zelko could write her objection to the hearing in a letter to Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Harry Le Grande if she chooses to appeal later. "

"No detailed plans have been made for the future hearings of other students involved in the demonstrations last November, which Gonzales said is "hard to do" because of difficulties with scheduling members of the panel."

"As of press time, the hearing had not ended and no conclusion had been reached on Zelko's case. "

So now they are holding hearings on what to do with the little rascals who trashed and occupied the school last November over budget cuts, tuitions or some silly thing like that. Have they never heard of Fousesquawk University?

That's right. No hearings, no appeals, no law school students arguing. Trash the university and occupy buildings? Bye-bye.

The Wilders Trial in Holland- A Farce

Europe News (DK) has an update on the on-going farce of a trial in Holland against Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, for hate speech and incitement-or whatever they are calling it. The European legal system, based on the Napoleanic Code,(highly favorable to the prosecution) is confusing to us Americans. Recently, prosecutors requested that Wilders be acquitted. The Judge refused, and from there, everything apparently went to Hell in a Dutch wooden shoe. Now a judge has been removed for improperly trying to influence a defense witness at a dinner party and it looks like a retrial is in order.

It does seem, however, that everday Europeans (unlike their spineless political leaders) are waking up and speaking out. On October 30, a rally against shariah encroachment will be held in Amsterdam's Museumplein (square).

(Europe News-DK)

By the way, you Americans who value free speech should be very interested in this trial. If you don't know who Wilders is, you should do some research. The outcome of this trial will say a lot about future freedom in Holland-and probably in Europe as well. You may not agree with Wilders or like him, but if he goes to prison, you should be very troubled.

Follow Up to Riots in Lyon, France

Hat tip to Gallia Watch and Novopress, Lyon for the video

The recent riots in Lyon have sparked yet another debate about immigration in France. According to Novo Press (Lyon), French media have attempted to carefully avoid pointing out that most of the perpetrators were young North African immigrants between 14-18 years of age. The below report is from Gallia Watch and contains links to French-language articles.

The below video shows a counter-demonstration by French nationals in reaction to the violence.

(Another) Absurd Alan Grayson TV Ad

Not only is Alan Grayson a colossal jerk (he is the reigning Fousesquawk 2009 Jerk of the Year), he also makes the worst TV campaign ads imaginable. Here is Alan again. (hat tip Daily Caller)

If you want to align yourself with the biggest jokes in the media, what better way to do so than putting out a TV ad with Krazy Keith Olbermann and MSNBC butter & egg man, Ed Schultz?

So what is Alan's message- he doesn't like businesses? OK, we get it.

Alan Grayson, Ladies and Gentlemen,

2009 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year Golden Penguin award winner!

And possible repeat champ.

Desperation Time at MSNBC

How pathetic is it to watch the five slugs at MSNBC desperately trying to head off the tsunami that appears to be coming  Tuesday. Last night, I caught the final minutes of Keith Olbermann's "Special Comment", in which he read off a list of "tea party" candidates and told us all the things they intended to abolish if they get to Congress. The theme, "If the Tea Party Takes Over" was a true dooms-day scenario.

"Jake Snake, tea party candidate from Bulls Nuts, Wyoming, wants to abolish the World Series."

Well, here; take a look:

"Did I leave anybody out"?

Which one was it that wanted to abolish Mom and  apple pie, Keith?

I'm still betting that Keith will one day take hostages and go down fighting on the roof of the NBC building.

Speaking of Las Vegas ........

MSNBC hostess, and Tim Geithner look-a-like Rachel Maddow went Keith one step further. She actually flew out to Nevada to be on the scene. There she was making a public show of trying to find and interview Sharron Angle then interviewing The Great Man" himself, Dingy Harry, as Rush Limbaugh (my hero) calls him. What followed was a "memorable interview" as she and Reid commiserated what a horrible woman Angle was and what a disaster it will be for the country if Reid is not re-elected to "continue his great service to the nation." I wonder if Rachel also voted early for Reid. Oops, she's not a Nevada resident, so that's impossible, right?

The Juan Williams Firing-NPR's Response to a Citizen

Cybersqid, one of my contributors, has sent me an e-mail exchange he had this week with NPR over the firing of Juan Williams. See how lame this response from NPR is.

 Original Message:

"Please find the enclosed letter sent to my Senators and House Representative:

After Juan Williams was fired from “npr” for expressing his “worry” about Muslims on an airliner, the “npr” organization should no longer get my tax dollars to support their violation of First amendment rights of a U.S. Citizen. You must introduce legislation in the Senate to de-fund this organization. In addition, “npr” no longer has any Black journalists in its organization, as Mr Williams was the only Black journalist. What would President Obama’s Communications Czar think about this! Last, you must look into the influence that George Soros has on “npr” with his 1.6 Million dollar donation a day earlier. A reply from you and not an aide is requested.Respectfully

Fousesquawk comment:

The person who should be fired is NPR's CEO, Vivian Schiller. First, she made a reference to Williams' "psychiatrist", then she compounded it by telling a Fox News reporter that Williams had made a "series of ethical violations". First she questions his sanity; then she attacks his ethics and integrity. It is shameful.

Then we need to fire NPR from the government assistence rolls.

Is UC Berkeley Putting its Imprimatur on an Anti-Israel Event?

Hat tip to OC Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism and Tammi Benjamin

Yesterday, another one of those anti-Israel bashes went on at UC Beserkley. One of the sponsors was Students for Justice in Palestine. Most troublesome, however, is the participation of a university department, the Muslim Identities and Cultures Working Group, under Prof. Anthony Cascardi, director of the Townsend Center for Humanities.  The title of the event was, "What can American academia do to realize justice for Palestinians? Gee, I wonder whose side they favor. I imagine Prof. Anthony Gutiererz was probably there unless he was busy heckling Jewish students who protest against swastikas on UCB bathroom walls.

So let me get this straight; If a university department puts on a forum, seminar or whatever you want to call it, and everything and everyone involved takes only one position, is that stating that UC Berserkley's official position is against Israel in this conflict? That's the way I look at it. I thought a university was supposed to excpose students to all points of view. Well, apparently not if you have a pro-Israel point of view.

This reminds me of that Whtiher the Levant farce that was put on at UC-Irvine back in January of 2009. Every speaker, every professor involved was against Israel. When I spoke up in Israel's defense, I was jeered by the audience. That seminar had partial sponsorship of the UCI Middle East Studies Initiative.

And what a lame response from the university to the protest letter. This is not education; it is indoctrination.

* I am working on getting Prof. Cascardi's letter posted here.

DOE Adds Anti-Semitism to Title VI Enforcement

Hat tip to the OC Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism

In an act that is long overdue, Education Secretary Arne Duncan has added complaints of anti-Semitism to Title VI protection in US schools. This is the result of years of effort principally by the Zionist organization of America. Kudos also go to Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) and Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter for their efforts in this matter.

Where the Candidates Stand on UC-Irvine

With election day just around the corner, I thought it might be useful for our local voters in Irvine to compare and contrast the public positions that  candidates John Campbell (incumbant congressman) and his challenger, former Irvine mayor Beth Krom, have on the UC-Irvine controversy involving the UCI Muslim Student Union.

Campbell's position has been set out in a letter he wrote to UCI Chancellor Michael Drake after the February 8, 2010 disruption of the speech by Israeli Amabassador to the US Michael Oren. I previously reported it below via the LA Jewish Journal:

"............ Campbell (R-Calif.) urged full disciplinary action be taken against those students responsible for the incident, describing their behavior as “egregious” and “intolerable.” He also called for an investigation into the conduct and membership of the MSU.

“This is not the first time the MSU has been involved in violations of free speech, intimidation, and, at the very least, threats of violence on campus. Sadly, this is becoming a pattern, and one which is especially troubling, as the chosen rhetoric of this group incites hate and violence against both this country and Jewish-American students on campus,” Campbell wrote.

Beth Krom answered my query to her regarding her position yesterday. It is repeated below:

Thank you for your e-mail. I attended the event at which Ambassador Oren spoke. I will not reference any of the communications I had with community leaders or UCI administration following the event. What I will tell you is that I have great respect for Ambassador Oren and was deeply disappointed that he was not afforded a respectful platform in which to speak. So much of the conflict in the world today is driven by a strategic intention on the part of one party or another to compromise civil discourse in order to control who gets to be part of the conversation.

One of the privileges of representing a district with a great university and a culturally diverse population, is the opportunity it affords me to engage with a multitude of people who respect and value education. It is truly one of most compelling features of this district. As a former teacher and someone who has served in leadership at both the community and municipal level, I look forward to building upon the strong relationships I have built with the university and other significant institutions as well as the community at large.

Thanks again for your e-mail, Gary. I hope we will have an opportunity to meet at some point in the future.

Obama on Piolin por la Manana

On Friday, President Obama appeared for a radio interview on Spanish language radio's "Piolin por la Manana". The show is hosted by an LA radio host named Eddie Sotelo, who goes by the name of "Piolin" (Tweety Bird). Sotelo originally came to this country illegally and was pending deportation when he eventually arranged to legitimize his status. He is a popular radio host in the LA Spanish-speaking community and is an activist pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens.

In the interview, Obama made some interesting statements about Republicans and about those Americans who are clamoring for a secure border and crackdown on illegal immigration. He referred to them as "enemies of Latinos."

This is downright disgusting for a president of the United States to tell a particular ethnic group that a particular party are their enemies. It is also disgusting for him to refer to those Americans who demand that the government enforce the law as enemies of Latinos. We (including myself, who is married to a Mexican) are not enemies of Latinos, and for the president to use that kind of language is nothing less than race-baiting and unworthy of a president. He came to office on the promise that he would bring us all together. Instead, he has divided us as few if any presidents have done-this time along ethnic lines.

It is disgraceful.

Beth Krom Responds

In a recent post, I asked questions of Beth Krom, who is running for Congress representing Irvine. Yesterday, I sent the text to her campaign website e-mail. The communication requested her position on the on-going controversy at UC-Irvine regarding Israel and the Palestinian question.

Today, I received a prompt response from Ms Krom. Here it is along with my own response.

Thank you for your e-mail. I attended the event at which Ambassador Oren spoke. I will not reference any of the communications I had with community leaders or UCI administration following the event. Beth Krom

Dear Ms Krom,

Thank you for your prompt response. I was, however, very disappointed with what

I consider a non-committal position. As I previously stated, I am not interested

in any private communications you have had with UCI. I was more interested in

seeing if you have laid out your personal position on the on-going issue at UCI.

I have been teaching part-time at UCI for 12 years, the last 5 of which, I have

been attending MSU-sponsored events. I was also present at the Oren event.

My purpose for being involved in this controversy is not to bash Muslim students

at UCI. I don't consider them all radicals or anti-Semites. Yet, there is a

central debate over whether anti-Semitism exists on the UCI campus as well as

other university campuses. I believe that many of the speakers who have come to

UCI over the years have made anti-Semitic statements, which are well-documented

on my blog as well as elsewhere. I also feel that responsible figures within the

UC system have not responded adequately to hate speech on campus; that includes

responsible figures within the Jewish community itself. In my view (as a

Christian), I see a world-wide resurgence in anti-Semitism, and in North

America, the focal point is on our university campuses.

It is also undeniable that many of these speakers have railed not only against

Israel, but America as well. I recognize their free speech rights, but the

public has a right to know and express their reactions as well.

You are running to represent the Irvine community in Congress. Within Irvine,

there is a controversy that has damaged the reputation of our university

nationally and internationally,. I think that any person running for Congress

has to take a firm position-one way or the other on this controversy.

Please excuse any typos: I am trying to type with an eye patch.

Harry Reid Off to an Early Lead in Nevada Election

"I'm not dead. I'm just sleeping."

Hat tip to Drudge Report

It looks as if Harry Reid is off to an early lead in the Nevada Senate race. Here is a report of Nevada voters going to vote early and seeing Harry's name already checked off on the ballot.

Fousesquawk exclusiive!!  Nevada voters going early to vote for Harry

You see, this is why everybody needs to turn out and vote. If the numbers are close, the Democrats are geared up to steal the election a'la Al Franken.

It's all elementary my dear Watson. You take SEIU, ACORN, friendly Democratic poll officials (Florida 2000), prisoners in jail, dead people (a'la Chicago), last-minute rushes at the polling place (St Louis in the  Missouri Senate race 2000) and illegal aliens (ask Loretta Sanchez) and voila! A narrow defeat turns into a narrow victory.

And don't forget that New Black Panther Party in Philadelphia. They even have the Dept. of Justice Seal of Approval.

Are you proud of this, all you liberal Democrats?

Guess Who is the Muslim Advisor to Homeland Security

"Who's that guy?"

"Oh, that's Janet's new advisor on women's issues."

His name is Mohamed Elibiary (not the one pictured), and he is Janet Napolitano's advisor on Muslim issues at Homeland Security. So you figure he is a "moderate", right? Read on. Below is a piece on Andrew Breitbart's Big Peace blog. (If you don't like Breitbart, you can choose from many other blogs.) The facts are the facts.

And this guy is an advisor to Janet Napolitano?

Well, after all, Rasputin was a close advisor to the Russian tsarina Alexandra.

Sayyid Qutb, if you don't know, is sort of the founding father of the Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood, which is the parent umbrella organization of every bad Islamic organization you can name including Al-Qaida. Qutb lived for awhile in the US and became embittered by what he considered the decadence of Western life. He became a radical activist, espoused jihad and was eventually hanged by the Egyptian government.

I assume you all know who the Ayatollah Khomeni was (another one of Elibiary's heroes).

And this guy Elibiary is also hanging out with Mohamed Al-Asi??? Of course, al-Asi is the pro-Iranian radical imam who comes to speak at UC-Irvine and talks about "how you can take the Jew out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the Jew." What a short chain from al-Asi to Janet Napolitano.

It is absolutely dumbfounding the unsavory characters that this government has brought into its tent.

Harry Reid Press Spokeswoman Involved in Marriage Fraud With Terror Suspect

Fox News is reporting that Harry Reid's Press Spokeswoman for the Hispanic Community has been linked to a case of marriage fraud involving a Lebanese national later suspected in a terror probe.

"Ah wunnerful, ah wunnerful, ah"

Yes, I'll bet Harry is just thrilled to hear this bit of news.

A word about these marriage fraud cases. I previously wrote about a time in Thailand when our DEA office stumbled upon such a scheme in Bangkok involving 10 Chinese-Thai nationals who were marrying American women in order to get US visas. It is called marriage fraud and it is a crime against our immigration laws. It appears according to this story that not only did Diana Tejada engage in a sham marriage but lied to investigators about it.

I can tell you one thing; if she did engage in this action, she was paid more than just expenses. In the Thai case I mentioned, each man involved paid the "broker" $10,000 for the marriage connection. That was in the late 1970s.

This is just one more glaring example of the type of people who work for the Barack Obamas and the Harry Reids. There is a definite trend in this government of people being brought into positions of power who are, for lack of a better word, lax when it comes to matters of immigration control, crime and national security.

So I wonder what bonehead statement Reid will make now when reporters ask him about this tawdry story.

They will ask him, won't they?

Won't they?

Obama Comes to Los Angeles-Again

During President Obama's recent trip to LA, he caused a massive gridlock while driving from one fundraiser to another. This past Friday, he returned to attend a fund raiser at USC for good old Barbara Boxer, and the gridlock was limited to a few square blocks here and there. Why? Because this time, Marine One, the presidential helicopter, was used to transport Obama from LAX to Burbank Airport and back to LAX.

Well, you say; that's necessary, right? Well, yes-to limit the gridlock, but keep in mind the amount of tax-payer money required to use Air Force One from Washington to LA, then Marine One to skip around LA. And this was all to hold a fundraising rally for Barbara Boxer.

Your tax dollars at work, folks.

And what a day it was. At USC, the crowd was warmed up by that professional crowd warmer-upper, Mayor Tony Villar aka Villaraigosa, noted playboy, failed lawyer and failed mayor, who is considered a possible Democratic presidential candidate simply because he is a young, handsome  Latino.

This time, Mayor Tony led the crowd in that old traditional Democratic chant, "Si, se puede, Si se puede", which in Spanish, I guess means "Happy days are here again.".

(Save the cards and letters; I know what it means.)

And aside from Boxer, guess who else was there. "Run-Down" Jerry Brown himself, who gave a "rousing" speech in whcih he proclaimed that California, with its "$1.8 trillion economy", had plenty of money to provide all kinds of services for the least powerful among us-or some such nonsense (Can you say income redistribution?). He also said that with our "$1.8 trillion economy", we didn't need oil from Saudi Arabia; we could provide all the green energy we needed, blah blah blah, woof woof woof, quack quack quack. Of course, nobody told Jerry, who is running for governor again, that the state is on the edge of bankruptcy, people and businesses are leaving in droves, and the unemployment rate is 12.4%. Never mind all that.

After USC, it was off to Glendale for Obama, who was interviewed on a Spanish-language radio station by a guy named Piolin (Tweety Bird), a DJ, who was once an illegal alien from Mexico, and who was about to be deported at one point before got himself legitimized. At one point in the interview, he referred to Republicans as "enemies" of the Latino community. Where I come from, that's called race-baiting.

Then back to Burbank Airport to board Marine One, fly across the skies of LA to LAX and off to Las Vegas to join Harry Reid for a rally, then off to Washington State for Patty Murray, then.........

Do you really want to know the rest?

But all the while, Villaraigosa was at USC shouting,

"Si se puede. Si se puede."

A Question for Beth Krom, Candidate for Congress

With all due apologies to my readers in other parts of the country, in other countries and all ships at sea, I would like to be a little provincial here. We have an election coming up November 2, and in Irvine and surrounding areas, Beth Krom, former mayor of Irvine is running for John Campbell's congressional seat. As a constituent, I have a question which I would like to pose to Ms. Krom.

As you know, Ms Krom, UC-Irvine has for the past several years, experienced strife on our campus over many of the speakers brought to speak by the Muslim Student Union. Complaints have been lodged that some of these speakers crossed the line into anti-Semitic hate speech. Also, as you know, members of the MSU disrupted the speech of the Israeli ambassador to the US on February 8, 2010- on the UCI campus. After this incident, John Campbell (after considerable prodding) wrote a letter of complaint to UCI Chancellor Michael Drake about the activities of the UCI-MSU.

I would like to know what specifically, if anything, you have said on the record about this continuing controversy at UCI. More specifically, have you ever issued a written public statement, made a public statement or written any letters to the UCI Chancellor or the University of California president expressing your views on this issue. If not, I would like to give you the opportunity to make such a statement publicly describing your views.

Please note that I am not referring to any private contacts and discussions you may have had with UCI officials or UC officials.  I want to know specifically what your public position is on this issue.

Update: I just e-mailed this question to her website (10-26-10). I'll let you know if I get a response.

Harry Reid Saves the World

In yet another amazing lollapaloozer, Harry Reid tells MSNBC's butter and egg man, Ed Schultz, that were it not for him (Harry Reid), we would all be in a world-wide depression.

More Hate Coming to UC -Irvine Ben White to Speak

"One person's hate speech is another person's education"

Well, now that the radical student organization, Students for Justice in Palestine has set up a chapter at UC-Irvine, it looks like they will be off to a roaring start along with their pals in the Muslim Student Union, er, Alkalima-Muslim Students at UCI  (sorry). This coming Thursday, these two groups are bringing in none other than radical British Israel-hater, Ben White to pimp his book, "Israeli Apartheid-A Beginner's Guide".

Of course, nobody should expect a rational discourse from this flake. He is part of the international movement to destroy Israel. Many consider him a Jew-hater. Is he? He denies it, but has written in his response to the charge that "I can undertsand why some people are".

Here is an excerpt from Whites's appearance at Columbia University March 2, 2010.

(Video by Pakayhall)

No, White is not a Catholic priest; he just likes to dress as one. Did you note the kaffiya-clad "security" along the walls at the end?" Amazing how universities allow the organizers of these volatile events to provide their own security instead of the campus police, who prefer to maintain "a low profile".

This is an especially bad time for this appearance at UC-Irvine. The university is trying to convince the public that it has "cracked down" on the Muslim Student Union with a "suspension" for one quarter. Yet, they (MSU) simply create a new group and link arms with the SJP to bring in yet another radical character with a reputation for being an anti-Semite. Meanwhile, the OC Jewish Federation is going around telling the world that they have taken care of "the problem"  at UCI.

What an embarrassment.

"Are Jewish Students Safe on UC Campuses?" A Forum

Hat tip to Orange County Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism

On October 31, a forum will be held at the Beverly Hills Library auditorium. The theme is the question; "Are Jewish students safe on UC Campuses?" The event is presented by the American Freedom Alliance and is being organized by three UC professors; Leila Beckwith ( prof. emeritus at UCLA), Roberta Seid
(UC-Irvine) and Tammi Benjamin (adjunct UC Santa Cruz). I plan to be there. If you are in the LA area and are interested in this issue, I encourage you to attend. Cost of entry is 10 dollars. Further info is in the below link from the OCITF.

Aux Armes Citoyens!!

Riots are sweeping France. The reason? The government's's proposal to raise the minimum requirement age from 60 to 62.

Allons enfants de la Patrie,
Come, children of the Fatherland (Homeland),

Le jour de gloire est arrivé !
The day of glory has arrived!

Contre nous de la tyrannie,
Against us, of the tyranny

L'étendard sanglant est levé,
the bloody banner is raised, (repeat)

Entendez-vous dans les campagnes
Do you hear, in the countrysides,

Mugir ces féroces soldats ?
The wailing of those ferocious soldiers?

Ils viennent jusque dans vos bras
They're coming right into your arms

Égorger vos fils et vos compagnes !
To slash the throats of your sons and wives!

Aux armes, citoyens,
To arms, citizens,

Formez vos bataillons,
Form your battalions,

Marchons, marchons !
Let's march, let's march!

Qu'un sang impur
So that one impure blood

Abreuve nos sillons !
Quenches our lands!

Que veut cette horde d'esclaves,
What does this horde of slaves,

De traîtres, de rois conjurés ?
Of traitors and conjured kings want?

Pour qui ces ignobles entraves,
For whom are these ignoble shackles,

Ces fers dès longtemps préparés ?
These long-prepared fetters? (repeat)

Français, pour nous, ah ! quel outrage
Frenchmen, for us, ah! What outrage

Quels transports il doit exciter !
What fury it should arouse!

C'est nous qu'on ose méditer
It is we whom they dare plan

De rendre à l'antique esclavage !
To return to ancient slavery!

Aux armes, citoyens...
To arms, citizens...

Quoi ! des cohortes étrangères
What! Foreign cohorts

Feraient la loi dans nos foyers !
Would make the law in our homes!

Quoi ! ces phalanges mercenaires
What! These mercenary phalanxes

Terrasseraient nos fiers guerriers !
Would strike down our proud warriors!

Grand Dieu ! par des mains enchaînées
Great God ! By chained hands

Nos fronts sous le joug se ploieraient
Our foreheads would bow under the yoke

De vils despotes deviendraient
Vile despots would become

Les maîtres de nos destinées !
The masters of our destinies!

Aux armes, citoyens...
To arms, citizens...

Tremblez, tyrans et vous perfides
Tremble, tyrants and you traitors

L'opprobre de tous les partis,
The shame of all parties,

Tremblez ! vos projets parricides Tremble!
Your parricidal schemes

Vont enfin recevoir leurs prix !
Will finally receive their reward! (repeat)

Tout est soldat pour vous combattre,
Everyone is a soldier to combat you

S'ils tombent, nos jeunes héros,
If they fall, our young heroes,

La terre en produit de nouveaux,
The earth will produce anew,

Contre vous tout prêts à se battre !
Against you, all are ready to fight!

Aux armes, citoyens...
To arms, citizens...

Français, en guerriers magnanimes,
Frenchmen, as magnanimous warriors,

Portez ou retenez vos coups !
You bear or hold back your blows!

Épargnez ces tristes victimes,
You spare those sorry victims,

À regret s'armant contre nous.
Who arm against us with regret.

Mais ces despotes sanguinaires,
But not these bloodthirsty despots,

Mais ces complices de Bouillé,
These accomplices of Bouillé,

Tous ces tigres qui, sans pitié,
All these tigers who, mercilessly,

Déchirent le sein de leur mère !
Rip their mother's breast!

Aux armes, citoyens...
To arms, citizens...

Amour sacré de la Patrie,
Sacred love of the Fatherland,

Conduis, soutiens nos bras vengeurs
Lead, support our avenging arms

Liberté, Liberté chérie,
Liberty, cherished Liberty,

Combats avec tes défenseurs !
 Fight with thy defenders!
Sous nos drapeaux que la victoire
Under our flags, shall victory

Accoure à tes mâles accents,
Hurry to thy manly accents,

Que tes ennemis expirants
Shall thy expiring enemies,

Voient ton triomphe et notre gloire !
See thy triumph and our glory!

Aux armes, citoyens... To arms, citizens...

Nous entrerons dans la carrière
We shall enter our military career

Quand nos aînés n'y seront plus,
When our elders are no longer there,

Nous y trouverons leur poussière
There we shall find their dust

Et la trace de leurs vertus
And the trace of their virtues
Bien moins jaloux de leur survivre
Much less jealous to survive them

Que de partager leur cercueil,
 Than to share their coffins,

Nous aurons le sublime orgueil
We shall have the sublime pride

De les venger ou de les suivre
Of avenging or following them

Aux armes, citoyens...
To arms, citizens...

Meanwhile, there are fears the riots may spread to neighboring countries.
"Let's sing it again!"

"No, no. That's enough."

"Whadda'ya mean that's enough? We wanna sing it again!"

But Who Will Fire NPR?

National Public Radio sounds like something out of the Soviet Union. I often wonder why in a country with thousands of radio channels that we can access for free, why  we even have a National Public Radio-which we have to support with our taxes. It would be one thing if this outfit tried to be scrupulously even-handed, but they don't. They are liberally-biased-witness their 1.8 million contribution from George Soros. Yet liberals would rather blast Fox News as being biased as they cheerfully allow their tax dollars to support a channel that few listen to. In other words, this is a channel that is boring, biased and unable to compete in the free market. The only people who listen to NPR are liberals who enjoy side stories about butterflies in Michoacan.

So now, this quasi-governmental entity has fired commentator Juan Williams for violating the rules of political correctness. It has been an open secret that the suits at NPR were not happy with Juan for appearing on Fox News. Now that Juan has admitted (on the Bill O'Reilly show) that he gets nervous when Muslims get on a plane with him, the straw has broken the camel's back.

Fired for speaking the truth. Sorry, folks. Millions of people do get nervous when they see Muslims getting on their plane. Do you wonder why?

Of course, there are certain things that one cannot say. In Europe, you risk getting arrested just for mentioning the word "Muslim". It's not so bad in the US-yet. Here you just fired if you admit the obvious.

Oh how I yearn for the days when even Jesse Jackson could say he felt relieved when he saw a group of males approaching him at night and then saw they were white.

Of course, Williams' sin is that he has drifted from the left more to the center. He appears on Fox News-and often agrees with more conservative commentators. Now that he has made what is a truthful statement, NPR has acted swiftly. Off with his head.

Hopefully, this disgraceful episode will lead to an open discussion on why we have to support this outfit.

So who will replace Juan Williams at NPR? Surely, there must be plenty of politically correct commentators out there looking for work........

like Rick Sanchez.

Irvine, the Great Park and Other Musings

Yea while I drive through the valley of the  Great Park on my way to work at UC-Irvine, I gaze out at the great expanse of dirt and look for gophers that might be crossing the road in front of me. On a clear day, I can see the old runway of the El Toro Marine Base. Then as I enter the city of Irvine ("the Safest City in the US"-except if you are on the UCI campus during Israel Hate Week), I enoy the view of the forest (of campaign lawn posters) lining both sides of what seems like every road in town. Sort of reminds me of when I was driving through South Dakota back in the early 80s, a truly beautiful state -except for the billboards every 100 yards inviting you to visit Uncle Bob's Fish Farm (just turn left). Now when you drive through Irvine, you see nothing but campaign posters and signs telling you which way to turn to get the The Great Park (where you can hunt for gophers).  My drunk-driving friends tell me that it's hell to drive through Irvine at night because one of those posters is liable to walk out in front of you.

Most of the posters tell us to vote for the great triumvirate of Larry Agran, Shiva Farivar and Sukhee Kang. Along with Beth Krom, they take turns being mayor of Irvine while the others are on the city council. A few years ago, it was Beth Krom, Larry Agran and guy named Todd Gallinger, who also happened to be a CAIR attorney, whose specialty was suing book publishers whose books he didn't like. When word got out about who he really was, he was the only one who didn't get elected. I have no idea who Farivar is, but apparently, she is raising a ruckus because some of her lawn posters have been disappearing-which is definitely what would happen if you put one on my lawn.

Agran is the power behind the throne and the throne in Irvine. When he isn't the mayor, he is on the city council-probably telling the mayor what to do. He is also the force behind the Great Park. Everybody is still trying to figure out how to find out where all the money has gone that went into building the Great Park, which up to this point has produced only a big orange hot air balloon.

Beth Krom, of course, is now trying to get out of Irvine and join the circus-in Washington. She is running for John Campbell's congressional seat. Last night, word was she was going to speak at UCI, but instead, she was apparently up in LA at some fund raiser hosted by Howard "The Scream" Dean.

I guess I'll stop here since I have to drive home-through the Great Park.
