Horror in Rome: Stabs his wife to death. Stopped by passers-by

29 May

He stabbed her more than ten times until he killed her. It happened yesterday in Rome in front of a bar on Via Greppi (Street) in the Portuense quarter. The couple had reportedly started to argue in the middle of the street when the man reportedly drew a knife striking her two times in the chest. She, a Bangladeshi of 40 years of age, was immediately aided by some passersby who stopped the killer, 49, and he himself from Sri Lanka. The intervention of the police was immediate, and the man was arrested with the knife still in his hand. The trip to San Camillo  Hospital was in vain.  The victim died shortly after of her serious wounds.

*Note: Other Italian sources are identifying both victim and killer as Sri Lankan citizens.
