Another Bombing in S Thailand

Hat tip Atlas Shrugs

The Nation, one of Thailand's English-language newspapers, is reporting a bomb explosion in the southern town of Narathiwat. Six people were injured by a bomb placed under a motorcycle Friday and another in a pickup truck. The below video was sent to Atlas Shrugs by a Thai correspondent.

In the video, the policeman only says that a "technician must come and see"
and that he estimates 90-100 kgs. ........(On the bike there were 5 kgs. and in the truck 50 kgs but only half went off.)

Olive Tree Initiative- A Picture Says a Thousand Words

KAFFEE AND KAFFIYAS

Olive Tree Initiative in Bethlehem (West Bank) - Sept. 8, 2012
A cynical attempt to sway these students to the Palestinian cause.

A French Report on Our Involvement in Syria

"Your shoes are fantastic, Francois."

"So are yours, Jean."

According to a report in Le Figaro, US Special Forces are training Syrian rebels in Jordan.

http://blog.lefigaro.fr/malbrunot/2013/03/des-forces-speciales-americain.html

For those of you who don't read French (like me and John Kerry), here is a report in English from the Times of London:

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/world/middleeast/article3702564.ece

In some respects, this can be defended since the regime of Bashar Assad is killing its own people in a frenzy. It would also represent a defeat for Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon, both of whom are allied with the Syrian regime. On the other hand, we have the experience of Libya. Do we really have a handle on whom we are supporting here? Or will we see another Islamic regime take over with elements who will turn those weapons on us? We know that some of the fighters are tied into Al Qaeda.

The Middle East is a boiling cauldron with all kinds of fractions, tribes and religious sects killing each other. How deeply do we want to get involved in this trying to find governments that will be friendly to us? In the end, I think it is a fool's errand.

I guess that's why John Kerry is now running around over there.

Michelle Obama's TV Moments

Is this what our military is being used for?

I don't usually criticize Michelle Obama. For the most part (since her 2008 campaign comments about America) she has done what first ladies are supposed to do. Yes, she has taken a few extravagant vacations at tax-payers' expense, and her efforts to get us all to go on diets is absurd, but for the most part, I have chosen to focus on the "high crimes and misdemeanors" of her husband, who is determined to lower America down to the level of say, Belgium. Last week, however, Mrs Obama found herself in the spotlight.

First of all, I take serious offense at her using military personnel in full dress uniform as a backdrop for her to announce an Oscar award for that self-absorbed crowd of primping peacocks in Hollywood.
Lawrence
Enough said.

Secondly, did you know that ABC did some creative editing in that interview of the First Lady? That was when she was describing the shooting death of a Chicago schoolgirl, in which she referred to the perps being young people who had "automatic weapons they didn't need". ABC edited those few words out of the interview since the incident likely did not involve automatic weapons, rather handguns-the norm in Chicago gang shootings. When asked for an explanation, ABC said it was done in the interest of "time". Never mind that what they cut out only involved 3-7 seconds out of more than 8 minutes of interview.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/02/27/abc-claims-michelle-obamas-remarks-about-automatic-weapons/

In other words, ABC protected Michelle from what would have been a tempest in a teapot moment-but protect her they did.

Of course, we won't know whether the editing was done solely on the decision of ABC or whether someone at the White House asked them to do so. Whichever it was, the fact remains that we have a news media that is completely in the tank for the administration. We may as well have a state-run media.

The Hell of Pakistan

Normally, I would post something like this as part of my series on "Let's Play, "What the Hell Happened Today in Pakistan?" (or Afghanistan or Iraq) However, this is too horrific for any degree of humor. The latest outrage from Pakistan: Five women buried alive for the crime of wanting to find their own marriage partner. In effect, a group honor killing.

Is Obama Going After Whistle-Blowers?

That's the implication here from Kerry Picket of Breitbart.com. (On the one-year anniversary of Andrew Breitbart's passing, I have linked Breitbart.com on this site.) Pickett points out a one-page letter the President sent out in January.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/02/28/Obama-Trashes-Whistle-Blower-Protection-For-Federal-Employees

Having been a federal law enforcement agent, I read this with interest because I enjoyed civil service protection while in government. Keep in mind that we already have seen ATF whistle blowers and the problems they have experienced. In the wake of the DHS release of some 2,000 illegal aliens, there are questions over the sudden retirement of a top DHS official and whether he is leaving in protest over the action. Generally speaking, I have to believe that there are many many federal law enforcement officials, diplomats, and intelligence officials in our government who are disgusted by what they are seeing done and have a lot of inside information.

This story bears following.

DHS Debacle: Thousands of Illegal Aliens Released

Janet Napolitano 2010 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year

The news out of Homeland Security gets worse. It wasn't just a few hundred illegal aliens who were relased onto the streets by Janet Napolitano's ICE. It was 2,000 with another 3,000 slated for release. And poor old Napolitano says she knew nothing about it. And the reason? The prospect of budget cuts in the wake of the coming sequester.

http://news.yahoo.com/ap-exclusive-dhs-released-over-2-000-immigrants-211615464--politics.html

Words cannot describe how feckless and incompetent this woman is. And she could not be in a worse position. This is who is responsible for our security. It just boggles the imagination. One could call for her resignation, but that won't happen. Obama has her back. It was probably the White House who told her to do it.

Oh, I forgot. She didn't know anything about it. That means Obama should fire her for gross incompetence.

But he won't.

Because this is what the Obama administration is doing by design. They are dismantling this nation brick by brick. How else do you explain this action? How else do you explain Operation Fast and Furious? How else do you explain Benghazi? How else do you explain Obamacare? How else do you explain the appointments of boobs like John Brennan and Chuck Hagel to such sensitive positions? How else do you explain our unwavering support of the Muslim Brotherhood as they install an Islamic government in Egypt while persecuting its Christian minority?

In the height of the Cold War, the Comintern could not have planned the destruction of the US as ingenuously as what we are seeing happen before our very eyes.

A Report on US-Based Terrorism

The UK-Based Henry Jackson Society has released a comprehensive statistical study of US-based terrorism entitled, Al Qaeda in the United States-a complete analysis of terrorism offenses. It is authored by Robin Simcox and Emily Dyer. The below link contains an abridged report. You can also order the complete report. In the below report, a demographic breakdown is given as to the offenders in US cases of terrorism (native-born, foreign-born, converts to Islam etc.).

Hopefully, someone will pass along a copy to John Brennan, the clueless soon-to-be head of the CIA.

DePaul University Enforcing Pro-Choice

Hat tip Daily Caller

Could that be Norman Finkelstein in disguise?

DePaul University is the Catholic institution that hired Professor Norman Finkelstein, a stigma they will carry for a hundred years. Now they have a new claim to fame. Daily Caller has a report on a student who is being disciplined and forced to write a "Reflection Letter" for publicizing the names of 13 students who vandalized a display against abortion.

http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/01/depaul-punishes-student-who-exposed-vandals-of-memorial-for-aborted-babies/

I can just visulaize it now:

Justice for the DePaul 13!!

Just a thought: Has anyone informed the Pope about this?

If Mr Del Campo needs any help writing that reflection letter, I'll be glad to help.

"Upon reflection.......

And who is Norman Finkelstein, you ask?

You don't wanna know.

Iranians Blame Jews for Religious Strife in Burma

Hat tip MEMRI and Frontpage Magazine

"The genocide of the Muslims in Myanmar is ostensibly being carried out by the Buddhists, but we are certain that Judaism and Global Zionism are [behind] the massacre and the genocide against the Muslims... The tenets of Buddhism are derived from Judaism. The Buddhists are a tool [in the hands] of the Jews, and 'Buddhism' is a name behind which [hides] the hand of Judaism and Global Zionism.

-Ayatollah Ruhollah Qarehi, head of the Imam Mahdi seminary in Tehran

Leave it to the mullahs who run Iran to come up with a novel theory about the religious strife in Burma between Buddhists and Muslims to find the convenient scapegoat. It's the Jews because the Jews invented Buddhism, you see.

The below report is from the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) and is also running today in Frontpage Magazine. It features some very disturbing antisemitic cartoons on the subject produced in Iran.

http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/7029.htm

Keep in mind that this type of cartoon is hardly limited to Iran. They run in mainstream media across the Arab world.

I am no expert on the Burmese situation, and it appears that innocents on both sides are being killed. Muslims are a minority in Burma, and many of them (Rohingya) are considered ethnic Bengalis.  Irregardless of who is at fault, this is no excuse for anyone to blame a group that has nothing whatsoever to do with it (the Jews).

Let's Play, "What the Hell Happened Today in Iraq?" (February 28, 2013)

"It's today, folks, and you know what time that is. It's time to play...."

"What the Hell happened today in Iraq!"

"Here are the choices:"

a The Saddam Hussein statue was placed back in the city center

b Representative Maxine Waters arrived on a state visit

c A car bomb killed ten and injured thirty in a mostly shi-ite section of Baghdad.

"Can I call a friend, Bob?"

"Who do you want to call?"

"President Obama."

"President Obama speaking."

"Hey Barack. What the Hell happened today in Iraq?"

"Why the Hell are you calling me? We have already accomplished our mission there." (click)

"I guess I'll go with "c", Bob."

"Final answer?"

"Final answer."

"You are absolutely right!!!"

(Applause)

Quote of the Day From Maxine Waters

Hat tip The Blaze and Squid

If sequestration takes place, that’s going to be a great setback. We don’t need to be having something like sequestration that’s going to cause these job losses — over 170 million jobs that could be lost,” Waters said.

Who says you can't make this stuff up? Once again, the biggest laughing stock in Congress, Maxine Waters, has embarrassed herself with the above quote.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/02/28/maxine-waters-warns-170-million-jobs-could-be-lost-due-to-sequestration-cuts-but-theres-a-huge-problem-with-her-estimate/

How about 500 million Americans could lose their lives?

Slip of the tongue? The problem is that every time this woman opens her mouth, out comes "a slip of the tongue".
