It was a statement to the NAACP that more African-Americans are rejecting the message of the left. This is truly an encouraging development.

Obama's Petulant Speech
If you missed President Obama's speech to the
Rather than lead the nation, bring us together, or suggest his own plan, you know, the plan he doesn't have, Obama once again ripped into the Republicans, pouted and played the class warfare game. You know that line about corporate jet owners? Yeah, he used it again. If only those millionaires and billionaires would pay a little more (their fair share), then we could do all these great things-like redistribute their wealth. Never mind that the top one percent pay some 40% of the federal tax revenue and that almost 50% of Americans don't pay federal income tax.
Obama is still pushing this line that to extend the Bush tax cuts to everybody (as Bush did), the government would lose out on 700 billion dollars (spread out over 10 years) that it desperately needs That's 70 billion a year when we have a deficit of what is it today-1.5 trillion? You could confiscate all the wealth of every billionaire and millionaire in this country and you can't make up that total.
So what is Obama's plan other than deliberately bankrupting this country so he can rebuild it according to his own socialist vision? John Boehner has a plan. It's going nowhere, but he has a plan. Paul Ryan had a plan. The Gang of Six has a plan. Hell, even Harry Reid has a plan. Harry Reid, who couldn't run the Mustang Ranch without bankrupting it, has a plan. Obama? His plan is to make another speech. Last night, he tells the American people to flood Congress with phone calls and e-mails telling them to get their act together. Reports are the calls are flooding in, but not the way he wanted it.
In the end, you know the sad sack Republicans will make a deal to raise the debt limit. That means more taxes, more spending, more income redistribution. Spending cuts? It will all be smoke and mirrors.
This government, like the state government of California, does not have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem. The only way to stop it is to take the money away from them so they can't spend it.

A couple of years ago, this major embarrassment to the Democratic party became an embarrassment for UC-Irvine's Muslim Student Union, who invited her to speak on their behalf. At that time, she was doing doctoral study at UC Beserkely. What a fit!

I'll take this a step further. The kindest thing I can say is that some of these people are naive peaceniks who have fallen under the spell of the Palestinian activists like the founders of the International Solidarity Movement. They are the Rebeccas of Sunnybrook Farm types. They flock to the ISM and the web of other so-called peace organizations dedicated to destroying Israel. Others are simply anarchists who have it out for anything connected to western culture-that includes many who are products of western culture itself. If you did a study, probably a good majority are not too fond of the US-even though they may be American. Then there are the ultra-socialists, or should I say communists who had to find new causes and new labels after communism collapsed in eastern Europe? Some are just oddballs like the silly women up at UC Berkeley called "Women in Black."
If the day ever comes that Israel is destroyed and its inhabitants subjected to a second Holocaust, see how many tears these misfits shed. It has never dawned on them that they are supporting terrorists who are also enemies of the US.

Fast and Furious: It Gets Worse
Fox News is reporting a congressional report on how ATF's Fast and Furious was arming the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico while telling its own attache in Mexcio City that things were "under control."

But in May of this year, Eric Holder testified under oath in front of Congress that he had first learned of Operation Fast and Furious "probably in the last few weeks".

I think it is time to put Mr Breuer under oath and tell us what he knew and when he knew it. Then Mr Holder can be called again to explain why, if his head of the Criminal Division knew about it in February 2010, why he (Holder) didn't learn of it until a few weeks prior to May 3, 2011.

The New York Times Editorial on Oslo
It is hardly surprising that the New York Times would take the lead in linking the Norwegian terrorist to the right-wing, Christian conservatives and anyone who would speak out against the outrages that come out of the Islamic world on an almost daily basis.

The writer, Scott Shane, takes particular aim at bloggers and activists like Robert Spencer and Pam Geller. That is hardly fair. Virtually none of the individuals or organizations mentioned in this article has expressed anything other than shock and disgust of what happened Friday in Norway. Nobody is celebrating and nobody is expressing support for this evil act. Had the victims been Muslim, the reaction would be the same. It was wrong-period.
It is undeniable that many people, both in Europe and America, have spoken out against Islamic terror, as well as shariah law and its attempt to gain a foothold in the West. In Europe, especially, uncontrolled immigration has disrupted virtually every western European country. One reason is that Europe never attempted to assimilate their immigrants, most of whom came to do manual labor or came as refugees-real and imagined. Immigration is a positive thing as long as it is controlled and people come and stay legally. That immigration in the US and Europe has broken down (due to different factors) is clearly the fault of our political leaders.
It is true that decades ago, when the first Turkish Gast Arbeiters (guest workers) began arriving in Germany, many were met with discrimination. A German writer actually went undercover posing as a Turkish shop cleaner, experienced the discrimination, and wrote a book about it (Ganz Unten-"At the very bottom").
Things are different now. We have the specter of Islamic terrorism sweeping the world and militant Muslims on the march, many openly telling us that we will all become Muslim. That has offended many people on both sides of the Atlantic. In Europe, most countries - including Norway-are witnessing a dramatic upsurge in crime committed by Muslim immigrants, who, as stated, have generally arrived as part of worker-refugee families with little education and a resultant low degree of assimilation or any regard for the host country values and culture. Their abominable behavior-as always- hurts the decent Muslims in Europe just trying to live better lives and become part of their new country. That applies here as well. When a group like Hizb-ut- Tahrir holds a conference in Chicago and speakers get up and rant and rave about the US, while predicting a world-wide caliphate under shariah law, people are going to be offended. That is not racism.
It is undeniable that Muslims, especially in Europe, are not popular. Yet, is it simple Islamophobia or racism-as the Times writer would have us believe to be angry about seeing sections of major cities become areas where they dare not enter? Is it racist to resent entire streets in Paris being illegally closed off and used for Muslim prayers? Is it racist to fear that your country will not belong to the indigenous people in 20-30 years? Is it racist to resent riots in the streets by immigrants? Is it racist to resent the fact that Jews can no longer walk the streets of the cities they have lived in for decades wearing Jewish garb because of harassment and assault by Muslim immigrants? Is it racist to resent an ideology (political Islam) that will strip away the rights that people, especially women, Jews, gays and non-Muslims enjoy as a given? Is it racist to fear Islamic terrorism? Is it racist to rebel against hate and intolerance itself?
This is where the Times is blatantly unfair. This phenomena in Europe-and to a lesser extent in the US- cannot be laid strictly on the doorstep of white, Christian, conservative racists. If there were no such thing as Islamic terrorism, and Muslim immigrants simply wanted to find a better life in the West, it would be certainly racist to not welcome them just because they have a different skin color, speak a different language or practice a different religion. I think that Asian immigrants from the Far East fit into each of those categories, but they are not being met with the same resentment. Why?
The action of one crazed gunman cannot be used to paint entire classes of people. Yet, for the Times and the left, it presents them with just such an opportunity. First it was Timothy McVeigh; now it is Anders Breivik. Two deranged individuals; two horrific acts. This is not a trend. The people they represent is a minuscule group of fanatics. They do not represent Pam Geller or Robert Spencer. They don't represent Gates of Vienna. I read Gates of Vienna. I have heard Geller and Spencer speak. They do not call for the murder of anybody. Nor do I think they are calling for mass deportations, which would not be reasonable. What is reasonable is to crack down on the criminals and troublemakers and send them packing. It is also reasonable to tell would-be immigrants that they are expected to come legally, assimilate, obey the law and accept our values. If they do, I say, "Welcome."
The Oklahoma City bombing was in 1995. Oslo was 16 years later. If, God forbid, other such attacks occur, I would predict they will be few and far between. There will not be a rash of similar attacks by like-minded people. Yet, how many acts of terror inspired by Jihad have occurred in the 16 years between McVeigh and Breivik? There is no excuse for our politically-correct Department of Homeland Security to lose its focus and operate as though the threats are the same from both sides.

Stella Paul's "Jews in the Basement" Article in American Thinker
Stella Paul of Stellapundit has sent me this article she wrote in American Thinker entitled, "Jews in the Basement". It is strongly written and is strongly critical of certain Jewish men whom Paul deems have not stood up to anti-Semitism. It is certainly thought provoking.

I can name plenty of Jewish men who are actively standing up to anti-Semitism. Like Mark Levin, David Horowitz is certainly no shrinking violet. My friend Ted Bleiweis of the Orange County Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism is one of my closest colleagues as well as Dee Sterling in Orange County, who has endured a vicious backlash from the more established figures and organizations in Orange County for her activism and criticism of their own inaction.
And that is the point. Why do those who speak out against anti-Semitism suffer so much hostility from many of the Jewish organizations who should be the loudest voices? That takes us back to Paul's article. First of all, there are probably tens of thousands of Jews in the US who are not even sympathetic to Israel-maybe more. They have bought the liberal line that Israel is violating the human rights of Palestinians. They stand squarely on the side of the Palestinians to the point of actively helping them while ignoring the terrorist acts directed against innocent Israeli citizens as well as the stated objective of Hamas to wipe Israel off the map. The big organization in that category today is Jewish Voice for Peace. They are the useful idiots.
Then there are the peace activists who have drawn a moral equivalence between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong. The only vision they have is Peace. It blinds them to the real world. If I put J Street in that category, I may be being overly generous.
Don't forget the major Jewish organizations that one would think would be in the forefront of fighting anti-Semitism. From my experience in Orange County, I can only list a few like the Zionist Organization of America, Stand With Us and CAMERA that are doing their jobs. The rest you can throw in the toilet.

I assumed he was the number one guy in fighting anti-Semitism. Yet, when he spoke several months ago in Newport Beach, he pooh-poohed the events in the last several years at UC-Irvine and defended the university. Frankly, I have no idea what the Anti Defamation League does in Orange County.
Of course, in Orange County, the worst is the Jewish Federation, an organization that is too much in bed with UC-Irvine and too engrossed in raising money to even want to acknowledge anti-Semitism at UCI. They trashed my friend Dee Sterling when she pointed out their involvement and funding for a misguided venture called the Olive Tree Initiative. Here you have a major Jewish organization providing funding to a UCI program that has put Jewish students (and others) in touch with known Palestinian activists linked to the International Solidarity Movement, and in 2009 met with Aziz Duwaik, the top Hamas official in the West Bank. The Federation defends OTI by saying that Jewish students come back as better advocates for Israel after learning the debating points of the Palestinians. That is nonsensical and lame. There is anecdotal evidence that some students are coming back with an attitude of moral equivalency toward both sides. The aim of the ISM and their allies is to swing young people from the world to be sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. Failing that, if they can sway Jewish students to a spirit of neutrality, they have also achieved a minor victory.
And of course, there are those Jews who simply don't want to get involved.
Since I am not Jewish, I won't get into the issue of the so-called "self-hating Jews". It is a charge you often hear within Jewish circles. I don't fell qualified to speak on that, so I leave to the Jewish community to deal with it.
I do know this, however; the Jewish community is badly fragmented even on this life and death issue. They spend too much time squabbling with each other instead of uniting against a common threat. Believe it or not, I have made more than my share of Jewish enemies by speaking out on the issue of anti-Semitism at UCI and other UC campuses. I seriously wonder if these folks have any idea what is happening to their co-religionists in Europe today in the 21st century. Anti-Semitism is once again on the march.
And it is back in America-if it ever left.

Father Marc Boisvert
Santiago de Campostela Catholic Church in Lake Forest, California is the base for a worthy project in Haiti for Haitian orphans. Father Marc Boisvert is the founder of Hope Village (Pwoje Espwa) in Haiti., which shelters, clothes, feeds, and educates Haitian orphans. Last night, I had a chance to meet two young men who came out of Hope Village and who are studying in the US.
