I still can't believe it




A few days ago, we posted a report that Maxine Waters (for the second time) had been fooled by the two Russian pranksters known as Vovan and Lexus. After listening to the tape, I expressed reservations because I figured that even though it sounded like Waters' voice, I just couldn't believe she could be that stupid. Even tricked into addressing a fake crowd where Thunberg was "appearing".

Well, it looks like it really happened. Not only are more mainstream sources, like the Washington Examiner and the Guardian,  reporting it, apparently, Waters has admitted being fooled.

Tip to Vovan and Lexus: You really need to call Hank Johnson. You could tell him Guam tipped over.

Over the weekend, there was a large demonstration in Toronto where about 200 people protested against the strike that killed Qassem Soleimani. Many carried posters with his photograph. (There were also some counter-protesters who called Soleimani a terrorist and murderer.)

David Menzies, a reporter for the conservative Canadian news outlet, The Rebel, tried to ask people why they were protesting. He did not receive a welcome response. In addition, Toronto's police threatened him with arrest if he kept using the word "terrorist".

The Golden Globes-Another Masked Ball

 
                                                                                                               

Something unusual happened last night. I actually watched the Golden Globes-or at least a significant part of it. Don't ask me who won any awards because I didn't pay any attention to that. I didn't care. What happened was that we had some of our family over and they all wanted to watch it, so I was stuck. The Missus doesn't even want me around when they watch these masked balls because I always make snide remarks. I managed for the most part to keep my mouth shut. Some parts I missed when we were eating or chatting in the living room.

But enough of that. Here are some observations.

I am not a member of the Ricky Gervais fan club, but I was pleasantly surprised at his take down of the Beautiful People and their utter hypocrisy in his opening monologue. Boy, did he let them have it. It was great. The forced smiles and sick expressions on their faces were priceless. Tom Hanks looked like he was going to chuck his Moet.

Speaking of Hanks, he looked like he almost chucked it when giving his way-too-long acceptance speech (of something or other). He admitted that he had spent the previous couple of hours putting away the Moet (which was on every table). Not a good night for Mr Hanks even if he did get an award.

Apparently, only one person used the mic to go on a rant about our President. That was someone named Patricia Arquette (hope I spelled that right). She rumbled out onto the stage unexplicably wearing sunglasses and an absurd low cut dress. I was afraid her giant boobs were going to fall out of her dress onto the stage and roll right into the audience! Then she compounded the flop (no pun intended) by going on about the upcoming war with Iran and urging the world to vote in 2020.

Speaking of bras, did you count the number of them in the room? I counted exactly zero. Maybe some of the males were wearing them, I don't know.

Anyway, the brightest part of the evening was Gervais and his comment that this was the last year of this nonsense. Oh, you mean he was referring to him being the master of ceremonies?

Netherlands: Saturday Night in the Hague

Just another Saturday night in the Hague, the capital of the Netherlands, and a city thought by many to be dull. When a party held by the Eritrean community at a meeting hall was crashed by about 100 uninvited guests, the gendarmes were called and the party shut down. That was when things got out of hand.  We are working on sub-titling a video of the event. It is quite good with lots of (police) horsies and doggies biting people. It's even better than watching the Golden Globes. Regio15.nl has a lot of good photos.

Hague police pelted with stones after Eritrean party shut down

The Hague:

Several police officers were  pelted with stones Saturday evening after a disturbance broke out at an Eritrean party in a meeting hall on the Wegestraat (street) in the Hague. Four officers were injured. During the disturbance, 4 persons were arrested.

On Saturday evening, an Eritrean party at the Kristal meeting center was in progress, an administrator of the meeting hall told De Telegraaf Sunday evening. "The hall was hired out by us. We decided that the party would be halted. All the commotion took place outside the hall."

The Eritrean party was stopped after some visitors without tickets came inside. Visitors then turned against the police were who by then present. Several officers were pelted with stones after the party was stopped.

According to a police spokeswoman, around midnight, a report was received of a disturbance at an event. "A group of about 100 people to enter the party without tickets or security check. When they entered the party, security decided to end the event and to evacuate the room. The visitors with tickets  became angry at this and refused to leave the location."

After the report of the disturbance, the police responded to the location quickly. "A group of about 100 to 150 people did not want to leave the location and turned against the police.  There was destruction and stones and other objects were thrown at police, "added the spokeswoman. So four officers were lightly injured and one of them was treated in an ambulance at the scene. These officers are making their reports." 

 According to an eye witness several ambulances arrived at the scene to treat bitten rioters and an ill person. "One suspect, who was bitten in the leg, has been taken to the hospital", said the police.

The 4 arrested persons are still in custody. "The investigation is in full progress, more arrests cannot be ruled out."

Train ride under police supervision

Some of the removed visitors stayed around the Hague Central Station. There were no night trains there. To keep the visitors outside the station several officers blocked the Central Station hall.

Subsequently, the NS (Railways) arranged a train per request of the police to maintain peace. "The ride from the Hague Central to The Hague (Spoor) took place under police supervision. About 20-25 persons made use of it. From Holland (Spoor), people could continue to all destinations," said the spokeswoman of the NS.

On Sunday, a Muslim man known to the police for his radicalization, was shot and wounded in the area of Metz by police as he wielded a knife and shouted, "Allahu Akhbar". Naturally, the man is reported to have psychiatric problems. No other injuries were reported. Further information and translation is pending.

A man who was brandishing a knife to the cry of "Allahu akbar" on a street in the Borny quarter of Metz was wounded Sunday, January 5 in the middle of the day by police during their intervention. According to the State Prosecutor in Metz, Christian Mercuri, this man (who)  was born in 1989 was "known for his radicalization and personality disorders".

"He was wounded, his vital prognosis was not (disclosed)," a police source indicated to AFP, pointing out that the police officers "were threatened" upon arriving at the scene and had to use their arms to neutralize it. Nobody else was wounded, according to this source. The man "was placed under guard in a  hospital environment", continued the prosecutor.

A serious investigation, entrusted to the PJ of Metz, is open on attempted homicide of (police) officers, declared the prosecutor to AFP, noting that he made contact with the anti-terrorist section of the Public Prosecutor for their evaluation of the incident.

When I first saw this on Breitbart, I listened to the tape and I figured this was a spoof. Supposedly, the two Russian pranksters, Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, who go by the names Vovan and Lexus, have tricked Maxine Waters-for the second time. This time, they supposedly told her they were Greta Thunberg and her father, and they had dirt on Trump. These are the same jokesters who fooled Adam Schiff into thinking he was talking to the president of the Ukrainian Parliament in 2018 and that he had nude pictures of Trump with Russian prostitutes!!

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice.....

Then I see that numerous other sites are reporting the story as fact including RT, the Russian outlet.

No, this can't be real.

Well, it sounds like Maxine, but I'm still not convinced. I know she is dumb, but she can't be this dumb. Listen yourselves and see what you think.

President Trump Should Speak to the American People on Anti-Semitism

The rash of anti-Semitic incidents in New York is alarming. Worse yet, it is spreading. It did not start in New York City. This modern wave of anti-Semitism in the US has been centered on our university campuses. Now it has metastasized. For years now, Jewish students have felt under threat on our campuses because of the tension over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The pro-Palestinian forces, backed by pro-Arab, anti-Israel faculty (some themselves Jewish), have succeeded in making that far away conflict one of the top hot button issues on campuses around North America, just as in Europe.

Now it it has spread out into the communities, sparked in no small part by the anti-Jewish ravings of so-called leaders like Louis Farrakhan, and sparked in no small part by radical Islamic preachers in US mosques. In the greater New York City area, Jews are now afraid to walk the streets and with good reason. They are getting it from all sides, left-right, black-white, Muslim, and on and on.

Just a few years ago people like me were wracking our heads trying to get the message out to the larger communities about what was happening on our campuses to our Jewish students. We were met with denial even from large Jewish organizations like the ADL, the Jewish Federation, and Hillel.

But now it is out there for all to see. And now we are all pointing fingers at each other as to whom is to blame. Typical political horse manure.

But to my point: We have a president (no matter what you think of him) who is sympathetic to Israel and the Jewish peope. Forget the vicious charges of anti-Semitism levied at President Trump. They are garbage. On this issue, he is on our side. (Full disclosure: When it comes to most issues, I am in agreement with Trump.)

President Trump has a unique opportunity to do something major and significant. It is great that he has moved our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. It is fantastic that he has cut off aid to the corrupt Palestinians. It is great that he has put our universities on notice that they may lose federal funding if they allow Jewish students to be bullied. He must, however, do more to address what is happening right here at home. What should he do? He should use the law to crack down on the perpetrators of these attacks even if most of the crimes are state crimes. Agencies like the FBI, the Department of Justice, and the US Attorney's office can assist. In addition, he should use the bully pulpit. What I would like to see the President do is make a national TV address to the nation on the problem of anti-Semitism. True, there are many -isms out there that deserve attention, but this particular one is getting out of hand and threatens to explode. We cannot allow our Jews to suffer the same attacks and indignities that Jews in Europe are suffering now. History tells us where this leads, and yes, it could happen again.

So Mr President, please speak to the nation. Let the thugs and the Jew haters know that we stand with our Jewish citizens and will protect them. Let them know that we will devote our law enforcement resources to catching them and prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law. Encourage our religious and civic leaders to get involved in fighting this, the oldest hate in the world, which is rising again world-wide. Mr President, set an example for those feckless European leaders who are wringing their hands while Jews pack up and leave the countries where they have always lived because it is no longer safe. Finally, without singling out immigrants in general, the President should inform recent immigrants and would be immigrants that if they hold anti-Semitic beliefs, those beliefs are not welcome here.

President Trump has a unique opportunity and a responsibility to lead the way on this issue for the good. I hope he takes it.

France: Police Shoot and Kill Knife Attacker

Today in a suburb of Paris, an unidentified man went on a random knife rampage, killing one person and wounding two others before being shot to death by police. The attack occurred in an area outside Paris called Villejuif. It may just be a coincidence, but Villejuif means "Jewish town" in French. I am unaware if this is a Jewish neighborhood. The name apparently has a long historical background.

We need more information as to the identity of the attacker and the victims as well as what he was reportedly shouting, but at first glance, it appears to have the markings of a lone wolf jihad attack. But we don't know that yet. The below video is from Vlad Tepes.




*Update (H/T Vlad Tepes). The Daily Mail (UK) reports that the suspect is identified only as Nathan C. He was reportedly a recent convert to Islam and was reportedly shouting, "Allahu Akhbar" during the attack.

Charles De Gaulle Re-Visited: Anderson Cooper

"So I tells the company commander the vice president of the United States is Charles de Gaulle...."


Every year, I attend a reunion of the 404th MP company, with whom I served in Germany back in the 1960s. We sit around, drink German beer, and re-tell the same old war stories from those days we shared back in Germany.

One story that gets told every year is about one of the guys whose name is long lost to me. He was apparently sort of a Beetle Bailey type soldier. Nonetheless, the company decided he should be promoted from specialist 4th class to sergeant. One of the prerequisites was that the promotion candidate had to be interviewed by a board consisting of the company commander and a couple of other officerss. Part of the interview would be standard military questions about whether the soldier knew his general military orders about not leaving his post of duty until relieved and other such nonsense. There were also questions as to whether the soldier had any clue as to what was going on in the world. Thus, it was that the company commander asked the soldier, "Specialist So and So, who is the vice president of the United States?"

The soldier thought for a moment, looked straight at the company commander and replied, "Charles de Gaulle."

The company commander, shocked, sat back in his chair, sent the others out of the room, then quietly told the soldier: "Specialist So-and So, I want you to take your time and think carefully for a minute about your answer." He then called the others back into the room and said to the soldier, "Specialist So and So, I am going to ask you again, who is the vice president of the United States?"

The soldier paused, looked straight ahead and said, "Sir, the vice president of the United States is Charles de Gaulle, Sir!"

At which point the company commander reportedly yelled, "Get him outta here!"

I am reminded of this story when I see CNN's Anderson Cooper and Fareed Zakaria discussing the killing of Qassem Soleimani and actually comparing him to the former vice president of the United States, French president, Charles de Gaulle, while Zakaria compared him to the French Foreign Legion (not exactly a bunch of choir boys).

So I am tempted to dig into Cooper's past to see if he ever served in the military, specifically the 404th MP Company in Germany in the late 1960s. Nah, he's too young. Or maybe the soldier went on to have a love child named Anderson Cooper, who knows?

Iran, Hollywood, and the Dems Mourn Qassem Soleimani

Isn't it amazing how certain segments of our society are lining up to attack President Trump over the death of  Iran's Qassem Soleimani? In fact, the Democrats and the left in America are all shaking in their collective boots fearing Iran might do something rash-like sponsor another terror attack, which they do anyway. Some actress named Rose McGowan has sent out a tweet desperately apologizing to the mullahs and begging them-begging them- not to kill us. Meanwhile, another actor by the name of John Cusack has tweeted that...... well, I don't know what he has tweeted because it is incomprehensible.

Of course, McGowan is too young to remember the hostage crisis when then-President Jimmy Carter allowed our country to be humiliated by Iran and its mullahs. I guess she would have preferred that Trump send them a planeload of cash in the dead of night like Obama did.

And how about Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT)? After our embassy in Baghdad was attacked, he tweeted about how impotent the US was under Trump. Today he is condemning Trump for the killing of Soleimani.

Never Again Is Now

In December 2018, I was contacted by Evelyn Markus, a Jewish Dutch emigree and daughter of Holocaust survivors. She was about to release her documentary entitled, "Never Again Is Now", about anti-Semitism. The film recounts the story of her family during the German occupation of the Netherlands and brings us up to date with the worldwide problem as it exists today including in the US.

Ms Markus had seen the video of the disruption of a pro-Israel event at UC Irvine by Students for Justice in Palestine in May 2017, which I had videotaped since I was present.  She was asking for my permission to use clips of that disruption in her film, which I readily agreed to.  I just saw the film in its entirety last night, and I urge all my readers to watch it. It features interviews with people like Ben Shapiro, Muslim apostate Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Muslim reformers Shireen Qudosi and Dr Qanta Ahmed. Unlike many depictions of today's anti-Semitism, the film does not limit the finger of blame to just right wing, white anti-Semites, but also points out the problem of anti-Semitism within Islam including among immigrant communities in Europe and anti-Israel forces on American college campuses.
