Maybe Ottawa needs a statue of Raoul Wallenberg :)

A statue of Raoul Wallenberg?

Sure, why not.

Gary seems to be obsessed with getting statues of Raoul Wallenberg put up everywhere.

Anonymous,

I could propose a statue of you-perhaps in Ramallah, but we don't know who you are.

So what?

Siarlys,

Is there a legitimate reason why?

"Is there a legitimate reason why?"

Same question can be asked for placing Raoul Wallenberg statues.

Here's the reason why: To remind people where Jew-hatred leads and to remind people that there are decent and courageous people in the world.

Even in Sweden.

All that a statue of Raoul Wallenberg is going to do, or a statue of V.I. Lenin, or Ronald Reagan, or King George III, or Kim Il Sung, or Albert Schweitzer, is provide another place for pigeons to sit. Statues are notoriously unreliable for reminding people of anything.

But what does ANY of this have to do with what the Ottawa Police are celebrating, and so what if they are?
