Deb Pauly Speaks Before Act of Corona
Deb Pauly (l) with Allen West
On Saturday night, I attended a meeting of Act for America in Corona, California. The featured speaker was Deb Pauly, a Republican politician who stirred controversy a couple of years back (February 2011) due to her speech at a Yorba Linda rally protesting the speaking appearances of two radical imams at a dinner hosted by the Islamic Circle of America (ICNA). (I was also present at that event, which was marred at the end by a separate group who had their own agenda-to heckle the dinner attendees.)
The event in Yorba Linda had featured many speakers including local politicians, two US congressmen (Ed Royce and Gary Miller), Yorba Linda mayor Nancy Rikel, and a few religious leaders. (I also spoke briefly as well.) But it was Pauly, whose words were twisted and edited by CAIR, who took most of the heat. Since she was a sitting Villa Park City Council member, efforts were orchestrated to have her thrown off the council. She received death threats and daily harassment. Yet she stood firm and refused to apologize. (She shouldn't have.) The below links chronicle how CAIR, the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), and ICNA manipulated the issue to attack Pauly.

Here is some background on ICNA, a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. You can also access their handbook.

As for the two speakers who caused all the furor in Yorba Linda, Siraj Wahhaj and Amir Abdel Malik Ali, they have been featured on this site numerous times. Ali is a regular at the UC Irvine anti-Israel hate fests every May, in which he throws out anti-Semitic smears on a regular basis.
Yet, in all the hullabaloo surrounding Pauly, everyone lost sight of the background of ICNA and more importantly, the two speakers they brought into Yorba Linda. It should also be noted that community members had met with ICNA officials before the event and asked them not to bring these particular two speakers to their community. In response Shakeel Syed of the ICNA Southern California chapter pointed his finger at the lady who asked and angrily told her that it was their right and that was what they were going to do.

In her talk before ACT on Saturday, Pauly, (an Air Force veteran) described the experiences she went through after the rally and how her colleagues on the Villa Park City Council refused to defend her from the false accusations and the rent-a-mob who showed up at the Villa Park City Council meeting. The term rent-a-mob is accurate because protesters were bused into Villa Park, some of whom were heard making remarks about how long the protest was going to last because they had to prepare for exams. In addition, the local Orange County Republicans were afraid to defend her, basically throwing her overboard. Political correctness run amok.
Most recently, Pauly was defeated in a race to win election to the Orange County Board of Supervisors, a body that sorely needs someone like her.
The Pauly saga is a textbook example of how these bully organizations like CAIR, ICNA and MPAC are attempting to intimidate not only officials, but everyday citizens into submitting to their agenda right here in our country. Thankfully, we have people like Deb Pauly who will not submit.

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand, but I thought you might like the following article, as this seems to be the sort of action that you'd applaud (I do as well). I was almost expecting you to have posted on it.

Thanks. I was not aware of it.
A touching inter-racial picture of two losers.
