Add Energy Secretary Steven Chu to the list of Obama cabinet members who need to resign. After Chu's testimony before Congress this week, it is clear that Chu was either committing perjury, or he is so incompetent that he should resign or be fired. (I know. Who's going to fire him?)

If Chu says that he made the decision to approve the Solyndra loan without any outside pressure (from the White House), that fails the laugh test. Yet, as a legal defense, he can always fall back on the explanation that he made the call in spite of any pressure. If he says there was no pressure, then I think Mr Chu has problems. The evidence indicates very strongly that the White House and the Vice President's office were exerting pressure. The involvement of Steve Spinner also casts doubt on Chu's statements.

There is also the matter of the reluctance of lower officials to go ahead with the loan.
No matter how you slice it, Chu has screwed up big time. He has either been corrupted, or he is incompetent. Don't forget that this guy is a scientist. I suspect he belongs back in a laboratory rather than leading the Dept. of Energy.
No political pressure to grant the Solyndra loan? Who does Mr Chu think he's kidding?

Is there any cabinet member you DON'T want to resign? Isn't that par for the course when your candidate lost the last election?
