DOE Adds Anti-Semitism to Title VI Enforcement

Hat tip to the OC Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism

In an act that is long overdue, Education Secretary Arne Duncan has added complaints of anti-Semitism to Title VI protection in US schools. This is the result of years of effort principally by the Zionist organization of America. Kudos also go to Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) and Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter for their efforts in this matter.

Kind of hard to argue with that. Good move on their part.

Yes, Previously, they had excluded religions from title VI. Now we have a clear problem. The way I figure it, it will also protect Muslims from any harrassment.

Nicely balanced Gary.

By the way, would this have induced you to advocate the re-election of Arlen Specter over Mr. Toomey, if that is how the race had shaped up this fall?

I know, its difficult. I was talking to Erin Manning (whose site is unabashedly Roman Catholic and pro-life) about a congress rep who supports high speed maglev rail and is pro-choice, vs. one who is pro-life and opposes high speed rail as a waste of taxpayer's money. Erin and I are both fans of maglev.

No I would not vote for Specter over Toomey. I give credit where credit is due.

Does this mean that if the MSU has another rabid anti-Semitic speaker they will be prosecuted by the Feds. Or does it just apply to the Administration? For if only the Administration is responsible, nothing will change. There will be a "loophole" for them.
