Viva Palestina-No Anti-Jewish Sentiment?

On May 21, 2009, British MP George Galloway spoke at UC-Irvine (I was present). While lambasting Israel, Galloway spoke with "compassion" in his references to the Holocaust. He insisted that he held no hostile feelings against Jewish people only against Zionism and the state of Israel. Yet, when I told him of anti-Jewish chants in the US during anti-Israel protests, he called me a liar. Galloway's appearance at UC-Irvine was to elicit monetary support for his Viva Palestina convoys of supplies to Gaza. As you may know, one such convoy is en route now. In his last convoy this summer, Galloway was accompanied by a "reporter" for the virulently anti-Jewish website, "La voz de Aztlan", which has taken up the Viva Palestina cause. I invite the reader to peruse this website and draw your own conclusions.

While in Gaza and the West Bank you need a permit to build which they won't permit

debris is used to rebuild because they don't allow wood, glass, steel, nails cement or glue in

schools, hospitals,homes, roads,bridges reduced to dusty grey rubble

so in Gaza with winter again approaching many live in UN tents and a few mud homes, they shiver and freeze


Dimes tossed to burn the faces of children

depleted uranium bullets to later cause cancer

systematic policy of evictions,confiscations,eradication's,occupation, isolation,deprivation, middle of the night incursions,kidnappings and blatant assassinations

all white washed by 'military security concerns' ethnic cleansing and then called 'Justified Self-Defense'


The ignorant and foolish spout in in frivolous disdain; "In this sandbox they have always have fought each other and always will"

The truth is quite the opposite and the holy land could be peaceful again if we call out for a secular,democratic nation living in egalitarianism

If we quit feeding a racist military occupation with our guns, bombs and complicit acquisition


We have betrayed these people and we must do something

call your congressman, call the president boycott the Israel money machine

for you are guilty just as much as the settler, the soldier, the politician

guilt and blame spreads from the center web of our nation as it supports this iniquity


What crime did the Gazans commit for them to suffer so?

They voted in a free and fair election for the first and last time so far in the middle east

they voted in Hamas because they were uncorrupted and spent their $ on the people

America and Israel went nuts, and did everything they could to destroy them

they robbed and bullied them,then financed armed and trained their now corrupted political foes


Then last year Israel did what it does to non-jews who refuse to surrender and cow down

they curtailed,cut,and limited services as collective punishment

then they humiliated and terrorized them by incursions,random shelling,assassinations kidnappings and sonic booms

then the 4th strongest military in the world assaulted a virtually defenseless prison for 22 days and murdered 1400 people with everything in their arsenal


They were put on a diet of cast lead and war crimes to punish like they were Rotterdam in 39

This was Leningrad, Stalingrad,Nanjing and Wounded Knee all rolled into one

And what did obama say and do?

He washed his hands of the blood by stating; "We only have one president"


What has changed in one year?

Gaza is still collectively punished,beat, starved and hectored

The situation is the same but worse

And we descend down the slippery slope to our own demise by our own dirty deeds"

I know nothing about Michael Hall. I would ask those readers who sincerely sympathize with the Palestinians in Gaza to ask themselves why Mr Hall chose to use the word "Jewish" instead of "Israeli" or "Zionists"? A slip of the tongue, perhaps? Who knows? Maybe Mr Hall himself is Jewish. I have no idea, but if so, he would be just another radical Jewish figure, like Norman Finklestein, who calls for the destruction of the Jewish state. There are plenty of them out there. Why does Mr Galloway's Viva Palestina website have such a poem posted?

Could it be that this entire conflict has less to do with land than it does with religion? Remember that the entity who will receive Viva Palestina's supplies is Hamas, designated by our government as a terrorist organization, one whose charter rejects negotiations and calls for the total elimination of Jews from the disputed land.

If George Galloway and Viva Palestina are going to continue to deny there is no anti-Jewish sentiment in their movement, they need to stop associating themselves with words like those from Mr Hall and La Voz de Aztlan.
