LA Jewish Federation as Judenrat

Hat tip to Squid and Family Security Matters

Shari Goodman, who is an Act for America chapter leader, has written an important piece in Family Security Matters in response to the shameful cancellation Sunday of Pam Geller's speech on anti-Semitism in Los Angeles. It covers several main points that Americans need to understand. In this article, she compares the LA Jewish Federation to the Judenrat.

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/todays-judenrat

A couple of points here. This is not a call to turn against Muslim Americans.

Second, people must understand that in simple terms, Islam is more than a religion. It is also a political ideology-one that does not recognize a separation between religion and the State. It has a legal code called sharia. Much of sharia is benevolent and defines the rights of people. However, there a part of sharia called hudud, which spells out the punishments for "Crimes against  God". This is where you find so-called crimes, such as adultery, apostasy, homosexuality, and blasphemy. This is where things get dicey. This is one area where sharia definitely conflicts with our laws. Another area is that which defines the status of women and non-Muslims.

As for the Jewish Federation, it should be noted that while it is a national organization, there is considerable autonomy from one chapter to the next. I have often written about the Orange County chapter, which has been an obstacle in trying to publicize and counter anti-Semitism on the UC Irvine campus. Part of the problem is that the organization is much too embedded with the university. Another part of the problem is money. The Federation is an organization that actively solicits, gathers and funnels out money for Jewish activities and causes, most of which are fine. Their funding, through the Rose Project, of the Olive Tree Initiative, on the other hand, is a disgrace to anyone who supports the state of Israel.

From what I have been led to believe, similar problems exist in various parts of the country when it comes to the Jewish Federation as a whole. For example, after an embarrassing episode in San Francisco a couple of years back in which the Jewish Federation sponsored an event and film dedicated to Rachel Corrie, followed later by the slaughter of an Israeli family in the West Bank (Fogel), a letter was prepared and sent to every Jewish Federation chapter in the country, asking them to sign the so-called Fogel Pledge-that they would no longer support any activity designed to be harmful to the state of Israel. To my knowledge, only the chapter in Manatee, Florida has signed this pledge.

The incident Sunday highlights a dilemma that seems to exist within the Jewish community. It is easy to speak out against anti-Semitism when the perpetrator is a white neo-Nazi type scrawling swastikas on a wall. It is speaking out against Islamic anti-Semitism that is a problem because Muslims are a minority group that itself complains about hate directed toward themselves. This is not to suggest that all Muslims have a problem with Jews especially here in America. But it does exist, and it has a basis in Islamic texts.

Pam Geller is not a bigot because she dares to speak out about it. I say it for the thousandth time, we cannot tolerate intolerance in the name of tolerance. That is a lesson the Jewish Federation needs to learn.

Three Dems to Vote for Contempt Against Holder

Is the dam starting to break?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/06/27/house-democrat-breaks-ranks-to-back-holder-contempt-as-vote-looms/

Probably not. There just are not enough Dems in Washington to realize what a serious issue this is and put decency and honest government ahead of politics. At any rate, at least 3 Democrats are now putting their votes where their mouths are when they express sympathy to the family of murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

Meanwhile, White House hack Eric Schultz is now seemingly the mouthpiece on Fast and Furious. And what a mouthpiece he is, as CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson learned to her shock and dismay when Schulz yelled at her for her impertinence in asking too many questions about Fast and Furious.

Speaking of Schultz, Eric's namesake Ed and his pals at MSNBC are now being forced to at least talk about Fast and Furious. Of course, in their spin, it is a "partisan witch hunt".

Nevertheless, the public is now really starting to learn about Fast and Furious. That is a good thing.

The Greatest Comment in the History of Blogging

Not long ago, after the acquittal of John Edwards, I posted a short article entitled, "John Edwards-Into the Dustbin of History".

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2012/05/john-edwards-into-dustbin-of-history.html

Tonight, I received this comment from someone identifying himself as Joe Swartzburg. Here is what he said.

Joe Swartzburg said...
Wrong completely dude...He would have been
such a better president than Obama...its not even close.
He should re-enter politics to shut-up know-it-alls like you, you condescending creep.

Thanks, Joe. You made my day. Your comment should go viral and make my blog number one.

What is Absurd is Eric Schultz

So White House hack Eric Schultz says that the letter Darrell Issa sent to the White House is "absurd"?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/06/26/issa-challenges-obama-executive-privilege-claim-on-furious/

This is the same Eric Schultz who screamed at CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson because she had the temerity to actually try and investigate Fast and Furious.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/cbs-news-reporter-says-white-house-screamed-swore-her-over-fast-and-furious_595011.html

Now that's absurd.

Donate Grandma's Funeral to the Obama Campaign

"Friend,

Are you expecting a death in the family soon? Funeral expenses looming on the horizon? Today, funerals can cost up to $7,000. Why not consider a cheaper alternative, like cremation, for example, and donate the savings to re-elect President Obama?

Yes, cremation can cost you less than $1,000, and you can use the savings to do something good for your country-like re-electing President Obama.

And don't forget the good it does for the environment.

And consider this: Once the Supreme Court approves ObamaCare, and those death panels get up and running, we are all going to have to face these choices sooner rather than later.

So what are you waiting for? Forget those pricey funerals and use the savings to donate to the Obama campaign."

"I'm President Obama, and I approved this message."

All the "Right Statements" Coming Out of Egypt

State Department Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland

If you think White House press spokespersons are bad, you should watch the State Department ones in action. (Isn't that where Jay Carney broke his teeth?)

Introducing Victoria Nuland. In trying to figure out what the Hell is going on in Egypt in order to answer a reporter's question, Nuland had this to say yesterday about in-coming Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi.

http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/dpb/2012/06/193995.htm#EGYPT

QUESTION: You mentioned respect for women for – of the rights of women, of minorities, but what are the signs you’re getting so far from President-elect Morsi both before the election and since?

MS. NULAND: Well, he’s been saying a lot of the right things both privately, and then you saw him say many of the right things publicly on Sunday. So now he – as he gets inaugurated and begins taking up his duties, he needs to turn those pledges into action, obviously.

You mean like calling Israelis vampires and killers?

Or this? (Hat tip Christian Post)

http://www.christianpost.com/news/how-the-muslim-brotherhoods-victory-affects-the-us-76874/

"According to the Egyptian website, El Bashayer, Morsi was asked by a journalist about Egyptian Christians who were supporting his opposition. This conversation took place at his party's headquarters, suggesting that he thought he could speak frankly. Here is his reported reply: "They need to know that conquest is coming, that Egypt will be Islamic, and that they must pay jizra or emigrate." (Jizra is the tax the Prophet Muhammad required non-Muslims to pay in lands conquered by Islam.) At his first political rally, Morsi reportedly chanted the Brotherhood's slogan, "The Qur'an is our constitution."

Wake up, Washington! It's the Muslim Brotherhood that is taking over.

Speaking of the Muslim Brotherhood, here's a memorable statement from their spiritual leader, Yusuf al Qaradawi, who had to leave Egypt and go into exile under the previous regime. He's obviously back in favor now. If you search this site, you can find some great not-so-oldies of him talking about dying in battle against the Infidels and calling the Holocaust God's punishment on the Jews. Below, he weighs in on the subject of female masturbation. (Hat tip MEMRI-TV)

Now I should point out in the interest of fairness that the above statement was made in Qatar in 2006. At the risk of digressing, I am reminded of the statement made to me a few months ago at the Islamic Center of Orange County by LAPD Chief Michael Downing of the terrorist intelligence squad, when I told him that the mosque and its director, Imam Muzammil Siddiqi, had played host to the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman, in 1992 (before Rahman was sent to prison for plotting to blow up New York City), and that Siddiqi had reportedly translated in real time a barn burner of a sermon by Rahman that said something to the effect that non-violent jihad was useless. And Downing's response to me?

"Well, you know, Gary, some people change over time."

                                                          (Sunnybrook Farm)

So, in the spirit of what Chief Downing told me, let's assume that Qaradawi's views on female masturbation have changed over time.

The Latest Droppings From Jimmy Carter and the NY Times

Good old Jimmy Carter has written an op-ed in the New York Times attacking President Obama for violating human rights.

Here's Jimmy Carter embracing the leader of Hamas

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/25/opinion/americas-shameful-human-rights-record.html?_r=3

I don't often defend President Obama, but on this one, I am on his side. If Jimmy Carter were still president, we never would have done anything after 9-11. Ten years later, we would still be trying to get the UN to pass a resolution condemning the Taliban for not turning over Usama bin Laden.

The plain fact is that Jimmy Carter was a boob in the White House, and he has continued to be a boob ever since he left office.

Hey! I have an idea that Mr Carter might want to pursue.

Spectral dust.

That's right. Spectral dust is the answer to avoid collateral damage to civilians. I learned all about this when Israeli anti-Israeli activist Jeff Halper, an anthropology professor, came to speak at UC Irvine a year or so back.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2011/02/jeff-halper-at-uc-irvine-cont.html

Yes, folks. The Israelis have actually invented a dust, with which each grain can be programmed with a person's DNA. It then tracks him, locates him and kills him.

Can't make this stuff up, folks.

So I say to Obama-ignore Jimmy Carter and keep those drones flying.

OC Human Relations Commission Funding Cut

The OC Human Relations Commission "Rusty Award"

Today I attended a meeting of the Orange County Board of Supervisors in Santa Ana. The topic of interest was their decision on the funding of the OC Human Relations Commission for July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013. The vote had been postponed from the previous week since Supervisor Pat Bates wanted to review the monies spent by OCHRC and determine if there was a problem with double-dipping. As things stood last week, the vote to continue funding at the current level of $302,000 a year was 2-2 with Bates asking for another week, which was granted.

Prior to the vote, public comments were open. I was the only person requesting to speak. I told the board that I had been informed that OCHRC CEO Rusty Kennedy was receiving a salary of $100,00 a year on top of his pension of $102,000 a year for his work in the same position going back to 1981. I added that I was not sure of this information or whether Mr Kennedy's salary was being paid from outside sources. I said that I was not saying this was illegal or even unethical, but if it was true, to continue funding at the current level would be a slap in the face of Orange County tax-payers.

Bates opened the discussion by saying that she had done a lot of work on this the past week and proposed a cut to $252,000 with an aim of phasing out public funding in the coming years in favor of private funding. She  questioned whether this was part of the county's mission.

Supervisor Nelson, who had proposed a cut to $202,000, criticized the OCHRC for not being around or initially involved during the Kelly Thomas beating incident in Fullerton. He questioned the usefulness of the Interface program. Nelson stood by his iniitial proposal.

Supervisor Janet Nguyen continued to defend the OCHRC giving an example from last year when there was an incident in her district involving an insult in a public forum. She also defended Kennedy against the charge of double-dipping saying that last year, Kennedy's position was one of three eliminated and that he was forced into retirement. She asked Bates to compromise and keep the same level of funding this year coupled with a commitment to continue studying the option of phasing down the funding in the coming years. To that Bates declined saying that she had put a lot of work into her decision and felt it was a reasonable compromise as opposed to eliminating funding altogether with little prior notice.

Supervisor Bill Campbell, a supporter of OCHRC, also lauded what the organization did last year when a cross was burned on the lawn of a black family's house. He did agree to the compromise figure of $252,000, however.

So, by a vote of 4-1 (Nguyen dissenting), the cut to $252,000 was passed. The consensus is that in the coming years, consideration will be given to phasing out public funding so the OCHRC will have time to arrange for private funding.

Conclusion? Rusty Kennedy might want to consider smaller Rusty awards next year and beyond.

Issa Focusing on One E-Mail

On February 4, 2011, the Justice Department sent a letter to Senator Charles Grassley flatly denying the ATF had allowed guns to "walk" into Mexico during Operation Fast and Furious. That letter was not withdrawn until December 2011, when DOJ had to admit that guns had, indeed been allowed to "walk" into Mexico, and thus the February letter was not factual.

Now it appears that acting ATF director Ken Melson sent an e-mail after February 4 (March) that contradicted the letter. According to the below Daily Caller article, Melson's e-mail was to senior DOJ officials and discussed wiretap applications that he had reviewed and which contradicted the February 4 letter. This is apparently what Melson told Congress under oath when he voluntarily went to the Capitol to testify in spite of being instructed not to by Justice. Of course, that is one of the tens of thousands of documents that Issa is demanding from Justice.

http://dailycaller.com/2012/06/25/atf-leaders-email-could-be-fast-and-furious-smoking-gun-and-holder-admitted-obama-cant-shield-it/

As even Holder has had to admit, an e-mail from the acting ATF director to senior Justice officials could hardly be claimed under executive privilege by President Obama.

Hello??? Is there a scandal out there?

Pam Geller's Speech in LA Yesterday

Hat tip Atlas Shrugs

I am cross-posting the video of Pam Geller's speech before the Zionist Organization of America yesterday in Los Angeles. This is the event that the Jewish Federation of LA cowardly cancelled at the last minute. Due to last-minute scrambling, it was held in an alternate location. She was there to talk about anti-Semitism, and the Federation decided that they didn't want local Jews to hear about it.

http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/

Geller referred to the Federation as kapos. I use the term Judenrat. Take your pick. They both apply.
