Kristin Clarke-Joe Biden's Disastrous Choice for Asst AG for Civil Rights

President-elect Joe Biden has nominated Kristin Clarke to be Asst. Attorney General for Civil Rights in the in-coming Justice Department. By any measure, this is a terrible choice. 

Joseph Klein has written a piece in Frontpage Magazine that clearly documents why Clarke is a bad choice.

Clarke, as noted in the Frontpage piece, has expressed regret at having invited Jew-hater Tony Martin to speak at Harvard when she was a student there and head of the Black Student Union. We can all be forgiven for the dumb things we did in college, and many people have changed their thinking as they get away from academia and get older. Does she still think that black people are physically and mentally superior to others because of their melanin? God only knows. But it is highly questionable whether Clarke has really evolved. 

I do not begrudge Clarke for fighting for the cause of black civil rights. But aligning yourself with Jew-haters like Tony Martin and arguing for black supremacy casts real doubt on her suitability for the position of Asst. AG for Civil Rights.

Still there is the question: Should we discount her record in college due to her youth? People do evolve. But has she?

More recently, Clarke has expressed support for the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement against Israel (BDS). In addition, she has supported the teaching of Critical Race Theory and defunding the police.

Will this be the new DOJ? I don't have a problem with someone who will be an advocate for black causes that are just-as the Civil Rights Movement was a just cause. But will she be an advocate for anyone else?

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out what is needed in this important position; someone who will look out for the rights of everyone-with malice toward no one. Clarke does not fit that bill.

Last July, we reported the story of a convicted murderer, an immigrant gang member, who escaped from custody while on a supervised visit to a local mall!! It is now reported that the 19-year-old killer has been captured by police. He is identified as Abdirizak Abdimalek Osman.

Killer on the run caught by chance

Killer Abdirizak Abdimalek Osman is under arrest. He escaped from juvenile detention in July and has been free since then.

It was by chance that he was arrested in a basement room in Hjulstra on Thursday, Aftonbladet reports. The preliminary investigation leader in the police is silent, however.

"I can neither confirm nor deny at this time."

The now-19-year-old Osman shot a man to death from behind in a pizzeria when he was 16. He was sentenced to only a few years in juvenile detention, but from there, he escaped last summer without his guards intervening. The expression, "revolving doors in the prison system," has gained new relevance.

He has since been free for a half year. He was arrested in the company of others for new criminal suspicion. Police probably did not know who he was when they intervened against the gang.

Fousesquawk comment: It is easy for us here in the US to shake our heads at what Sweden is doing. Before we get too smug, we should realize that this stuff is coming here. We are going to have a new Department of Justice whose priority is not going to be locking up criminals. (They'll probably be too busy coming after us conservatives and Trump supports. In San Francisco and Los Angeles they have DAs who basically don't believe in incarceration. 

The insanity is spreading worldwide.

The Brussels Riots: Follow-Up

The Belgian capital of Brussels was hit by riots this week over the death of a 23-year-old immigrant while in police custody. Here is what we posted this week from the Flemish (Dutch)-language daily, De Morgen.

Fortunately, the policewoman feels better today.

The demonstration in tribute to the young Ibrahima this Wednesday evening gave way to riots and scenes of extreme violence. Among the videos disseminated that evening, we can see a policewoman being kicked while she is still on the ground. If today, she is almost recovered, nevertheless, she had to be hospitalized because she showed signs of paralysis. The day after her attack, the officer recounted the events with our colleagues from Nieuwsblad. "I have just gotten out of the hospital. Last night the tingling sensation in my legs disappeared. I still have pain all over but the pain medication relieves (it), I am covered in bruises, but I will probably make a full recovery." 
Kelly, mother of a little 9-year-old boy, was called in for backup after she had finished her service after the incidents in progress in Schaerbeek (district in Brussels). The policewoman explains that a group of rioters rushed her and her colleagues as they were trying to secure a street. She lost her balance and wound up on the ground, for several seconds, she was kicked in the belly and face. "Suddenly, I heard a man scream. He asked them to stop and told them that I was a woman, not a man. It was a resident of the district, a Moroccan, I believe. He saved me from these young men by intervening. My colleagues were able to get rid of their attackers and immediately took me under their (wing). I am very grateful to this man and to my colleagues. If I wasn't wearing my robocop protective clothing, I probably wouldn't have survived," she confides.

The Muslim Brotherhood in America (CAIR)

Swedish writer Johan Westerholm is the author of a Swedish language book entitled, Muslimska Brödraskapet: Islamismen i Sverige (Muslim Brotherhood: Islamism in Sweden). He has written the below article for the Swedish blog, Ledarsidorna. The article specifically concerns the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has documented ties to the Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood. In this article, Westerholm expresses the view that with the election of Joe Biden and the takeover of Congress by the Democrats, the position of CAIR and the MB will increase. As an example, he cites a letter written to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg asking him to take measures against expressions of hate against Muslims. The below article is translated by Fousesquawk.

Muslim Brotherhood strengthens its influence over the American Congress

The Muslim Brotherhood's most influential North American networking organization, CAIR, is advancing its position. The (Muslim) Brotherhood now has support from 30 American members of Congress.

Earlier in December, one of the Muslim Brotherhood's largest and most influential  North American networking organizations, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), was noted by Member of Congress Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and 29 other Congressional colleagues who together urged Facebook to take immediate action to eliminate anti-Muslim exaggeration platforms.

In the call to Facebook, examples were given "(how) platforms are used to de-humanize Muslims" as well as how Facebook stays passive in relation to this.

In the letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Dingell demanded that Facebook immediately put through the following measures:

* Form a working group consisting of higher-level executives with a focus on anti-Muslim issues and responsible for coordinating work within the company to confront hate groups and education against discrimination.

* Ensure that policies prohibit whites from using the platform for events and group sites in order to terrorize Muslims and other vulnerable groups.

* Undertake an independent review by third parties into the company's role in enabling anti-Muslim violence and genocide against Muslims.

* Commit to working proactively in discovering and removing anti-Muslim content and all other forms of hate before it is even seen.

* Conduct regular training against discrimination for all of Facebook's personnel.

*Education of key personnel in civil rights issues and common words, phrases or images used by hate actors in order to de-humanize and demonize Muslims.

That the Brotherhood's role will change, with increased influence with a Democrat president in the White House is considered inevitable. That CAIR will advance its positions will come as no surprise. An influence that will increase with the majority Democrats have in the American Congress. 

The question is more how CAIR and Swedish organizations like Ibn Rushd, Islamic Association of Sweden, and Islamic Relief choose to tone down their connection with the ever more pressured Brotherhood.

But that the Brotherhood continues to make demands upon, among others, Facebook, with US Congressional support, is a reasonably expected development. Whether that is directly through network organizations like CAIR or via a second network which is not as clearly associated with the Brotherhood will be shown in the future.

Here is CAIR's reaction to the letter. The reader will note there is a slight difference in language as to the points demanded by Dingell et al and how Westerholm describes them. The meaning is the same, but there might be additional words in one or the other version. We have translated Westerholm's words. The actual Dingell letter can be viewed here.

I myself would like to respond to Dingell's letter. I can't speak for the whole world, but this site is not about dehumanizing Muslims as people. Yes, we have criticized Islam as an intolerant and violent  ideology. Yes, we have attacked organizations like CAIR because they masquerade as a civil rights organization while acting as a front for the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. Yes, we speak against the Islamization of the West. Yes, we criticize the insane immigration policies of Western Europe because its own citizens are being killed on an almost daily basis by refugees, asylum-seekers, and migrants from the Islamic world, people who have no intention of assimilating or contributing anything positive to the countries they choose to go to.

But it would be unfair to paint every single Muslim with the same wide brush, and this site has always spoken out when innocent Muslims were targeted, such as the Christchurch, New Zealand massacre.

But where is the internment and genocide against Muslims that Dingell speaks of? No decent person is advocating that. If Dingell is concerned about genocide, she should direct her attention to what ISIS was carrying out recently in Syria and Iraq against Yazidis and Christians. Maybe she should direct her attention to the persecution carried out against religious minorities in virtually every Muslim-majority nation. To speak out against these outrages is not hate. It is not human rights abuse. It is no more wrong to do so than to speak out about what Nazi Germany was doing from 1933-1945. It is also legitimate to discuss the connections between Islamic teachings and the horrors we are seeing today. Does that incriminate all Muslims? No. Does that justify treating innocent Muslims as second class citizens? No.

However, Mr Westerholm is correct: Under this new administration, they will be coming after those who speak out. Under this administration, there will be no investigation into what organizations like CAIR really represent. I have no doubt, Zuckerberg will do their bidding.

The Democrats Literally Kicking the Dead Horse

The Democrat party continues to sink to new lows. With the support of ten Republicans, the Dems in the House of Representatives have brought impeachment back to the country, just days before President Trump leaves office. Trump now stands as the first US president to be impeached twice. Is that the point of it all, or is the point to keep Trump from running again in 2024? 

It is clear that this is a pointless vendetta. Not only that but the soon-to-be Democrat majority in the Senate, realizing there is no time to conduct a Senate trial, now plans to start the trial after Joe Biden takes office. In other words, Trump will be tried after he leaves office. Hey! Why not start impeachment proceedings against Woodrow Wilson while we're at it?

Aside from the absurdity of it all, why are we putting the country through this again? Isn't the country divided enough? Hasn't Biden asked the country to come together now? Well, he can forget about that. A Senate trial against former President Trump is going to leave about half the country outraged and can only increase extremism on some parts of the right in this country. It will also increase fears that the all-powerful Democrats are coming after all of us who say things they don't like. In other words, our First Amendment rights are in real danger. The Democrat party, aligned with their allies in Facebook, Twitter, Google, and YouTube etc, are really going to crack down on conservative voices. The universities, already bastions of leftist censorship, will really feel emboldened now. This could out to be the snowball that turns into an avalanche. 

Consider this: They want to go after Trump at this late stage because of the words he uttered on January 6 that allegedly "instigated" the riot at the Capitol. I have read the transcript of the speech. Yes, he encouraged the crowd to march to the Capitol. That they did so was not wrong in itself. What Trump did not encourage them to do was to breach the Capitol, wreck the place, and put a stop to the Electoral College proceedings. 

I wonder how many of these Democrats were calling for the head of Al Sharpton after he gave his fiery speeches in the midst of the deadly Crown Heights riots in 1991. Four years later, in 1995, there was "Reverand Al" again stoking the flames which helped lead to the murder of 7 people at Freddie's Fashion Mart in New York. MSNBC never cared about all that because they gave him his own talk show where he could join the chorus calling for Trump's head.

Joe Biden has already signaled that he doesn't think another impeachment trial is in the best interest of the country. Now we will see how much power he will wield as president. Is he the leader of the Democrat party? Or is it Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or soon-to-be-anointed Kamala Harris?

You don't have to be a fan of Trump to see the hypocrisy in all this. They say Trump should not be in office one more minute, let alone a week. But they cannot stop him from filling out his term. All they do now is conduct a trial after the prisoner has already died, so to speak. Whether they can get enough Republicans to give them the necessary 2/3rds majority necessary to convict is another question. 

It is not just about Trump; the whole thing reeks of, "We have won it all and now we are going to destroy all of you." The new Justice Department will vigorously investigate groups like the Proud Boys, Boogaloo Bois, and Qanon. Perhaps, they should as to the extent they were allegedly involved in the events of January 6. But will they investigate Black Lives Matter and Antifa just as vigorously? What if, after conducting their kangaroo trial of Trump, it is found that Antifa was also involved on January 6 posing as MAGA folks?

Whatever happened to the old adage, "Let's don't make a martyr out of the guy"? The Democrats would do well to remember that. Trump is just days away from being history. Let the man go off in peace and let's see if Joe Biden can really close the chapter, take control of his party, and bring the country back together. I am speaking rhetorically, of course.

Belgium: Brussels Erupts in Riots

Breaking: Apparently, this riot in Brussels is still on-going.

On Saturday evening, a 23-year-old year man was arrested after he fled from police during a police stop on a gathering in violation of Covid regulations. The man, identified as Ibrahima B., reportedly collapsed at the police station and later died at the hospital.

This afternoon in Brussels, a demonstration at the police station deteriorated into a riot. The below article from the Flemish (Dutch)- language newspaper, De Morgen, is translated by Fousesquawk. We are currently working on providing sub-titles to one of the videos found in the below link.

Riot after a demonstration for deceased arrestee: Protesters throw stones,  water cannon deployed

More than 500 demonstrators gathered this afternoon at the police headquarters where 23-year-old Ibrahima B, died Saturday after his arrest. The young man was earlier arrested in the area of the Brussels-North station. At first, the protest was peaceful, but around 4 pm, the atmosphere became worse. Protesters threw stones and set fires; riot police are at the scene en masse and have deployed a water cannon.

More than 500 people gathered to demonstrate at the police headquarters, although only 100 people were allowed to gather. Just about 100 people were stopped by police before the beginning of the demonstration. About 400 demonstrators are reported to have gathered at police headquarters on the Brabant Street.

Friends, family members, and sympathizers of the (23-year-old) wanted to ask for clarity over his death. Around 4 pm, the atmosphere worsened. Stones and fireworks were thrown at the police, and demonstrators shouted, "Police, murderers". In the tumult, a window of a police car was destroyed. Here and there, small fires were set.

Several rioters moved about in a cat and mouse game with police to the Liedtsplein (square) in Schaarbeek. They smashed windows of a police post and set fire to the office, according to Het Laatse Nieuws (news outlet). The atmosphere is still very turbulent, and riot police are at the scene en masse.

The riot police are massively present in the area of the North Station.  The water cannon has been used several times against the demonstrators. Officers initially tried to send the demonstrators home, but the calls received little response. The organizers of the demonstration also unsuccessfully did everything they could to calm things down. One youth of 17 was taken injured to the hospital. According to witnesses, he was hit by police with a  nightstick, reported Het Laatste Nieuws. According to Belga, one person was injured after a fall. At the moment, nothing has been communicated by the police as to arrests.

King Philipp

Noteworthy: Close by the riot, was the car of King Philipp, recognizable by the license plate "1". A police source confirmed to Het Laatste Nieuws that the prince was in the car. The car was protected by the police and was not pelted by protesters. According to the press agency, EPA, the vehicle of King Philipp was en route from his workplace in Brussels to Laken Castle.

"Crucial Moments"

The 23-year-old Ibrahima B. was arrested Saturday evening about 7 pm at the North Station. According to the prosecutor's office, police there stopped a group of people who had gathered and thus, were not following the Corona regulations. Ibrahima reportedly ran and was arrested after a chase. The young man was subsequently brought to police headquarters on Brabant Street, where he reportedly collapsed. The police reportedly called an ambulance, which took the young man to the hospital. There, Ibrahima reportedly died around 8:20 pm.

According to the family's lawyer, the police reportedly let the young man lay on the ground for 5 minutes, writes Bruzz. "The several minutes without care are crucial moments in which Ibrahima's life could have been saved. The officers let him die," says attorney Alexis Deswaef. "That is unacceptable. Unfortunately, we see that is no exception in Brussels."

"The family of the deceased young man and their counselor met this morning with the King's Prosecutor to get answers to a number of their questions," says the prosecutor's spokesperson, "and to (be assured) that all means have been and will be utilized to provide clarity over what occurred."

The investigation into the death is in the hands of the Investigation Service of Committee P. Meanwhile, Standing Committee P has opened an investigation but limited to the course of the notification of the family of the victim. They were only informed hours after the facts and reportedly received conflicting explanations.

"The Standing Committee P came to this decision on the basis of what appeared about this in the media," says spokesperson Nancy Van Barel. "Should elements emerge in the course of this criminal investigation that suggest one or another non-unlawful shortcoming, the  Standing Committee P will also investigate this further."

Barbara Dansby at UC Irvine-UC Santa Barbara: The Universities Respond (Kind of)

A few days ago I posted an article about a scheduled Webinar at UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara featuring Dr Barbara Dansby, a professor of African-American studies and gender studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. As advertised, I sent emails to both diversity officers at the respective institutions asking when they might sponsor conservative speakers. I also informed them that I would be happy to post their responses in the event they cared to dispute my belief that the universities do not sponsor conservative speakers. 

Today, I have received replies from both diversity officers at these respective universities.

Here is my original email of January 6.

Dear Vice Chancellors Robnett and Haynes,

My name is Gary Fouse, and I am a former part-time teacher at UC Irvine Extension (1998-2016). I am writing to you regarding the January 13 Webinar featuring Dr Barbara Dansby, which is being sponsored by your offices.

Rather than go into details, I am linking what I have posted on my blog, Fousesquawk. I am not asking that the event be canceled since I do not believe in censoring the views of those I disagree with. What I am asking -challenging, in fact- is that you consider bringing in speakers with opposing points of view from those of Dr Dansby. If, in fact, you have in the past done so, please advise, and I will be happy to post your responses.

It is my opinion, based on experience and my own observations, that students in our universities are being exposed to a very one-sided view of issues affecting our country. While I have seen some conservative and/or pro-Israel speakers appear at UCI, they have invariably been invited by conservative student groups. On many occasions, they are disrupted.

Denmark Wins Appeal on Deportation

Here is an interesting report from the conservative  Swedish site, Fria Tider. The European Court of Human Rights has upheld the deportation of a Pakistani career criminal from Denmark, where he was born, back to Pakistan. What makes this interesting is that the subject, Shuaib Khan, was born in Denmark. It is not clear whether he had ever visited Pakistan, but as the article outlines, he is not a Danish citizen, thus, is deportable even though he was born in Denmark.

European Court: The right of  Denmark to deport second-generation criminal immigrants

Foreign: Denmark's deportation of the criminal, Shuaib Khan, leader of a gang that made itself known for several serious violent crimes, does not go against the so-called human rights. That is reported by the European Court (of Human Rights) today.

Khan, who was born in Denmark in 1986 and is of Pakistani, third world, (nationality),  argued in the European Court that Denmark had "offended" his so-called human rights when the northern country deported him through a judgment by the Danish HD (Higher Court) in 2017.

To force him to live in his own country was, according to Khan, a "disproportionately" severe sentence. He had no (issues) with the other parts of the punishment, only appealing the deportation.

One reason Khan never became a Danish citizen is that he has hardly done anything other than commit crimes in Denmark. Between 2003 and 2017, he has been convicted 13 times, mainly for crimes against persons. 

Now Denmark has the right to execute deportations to Pakistan. 

"The Court reiterates that a state has the right to control foreign citizens' entry and stay there," wrote the Court in a press release. According to the European Court, deportations must still be proportionate, and it was in this case, the Court determined.

Comment: From an American point of view, this raises eyebrows because, under American law, a foreign child born in the US is entitled to citizenship. That is not true in all countries, however. I think we can all agree 2020 has been one crummy year in world history. When it comes to campus anti-Semitism, 2020 has been no exception. Ashley Stultz of Campus Reform has compiled a list of some of the worst incidents of the year.

I would like to mention the professor who invited Leila Khaled to participate in an SFSU webinar, who is Rabab Abdulhadi, arguably the biggest embarrassment in US academia, and that's coming from a loaded field. The link in CR's article pertaining to SFSU features an interview from a sympathetic source with Abdulhadi in which she rails against several Jewish and Zionist organizations. Yet she claims not to be anti-Semitic.

Keep in mind as we encounter more and more anti-Jewish attacks in our country, it is the campus from which most of this has sprouted.

Mexico: President Obrador Criticizes Facebook Censorship

On Thursday, Mexican President  Andrés Manuel López Obrador made a critical public statement about the censorship policies of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. 

In the translation, which is from RT (Deutschland) and done for RAIR Foundation, there are two segments where a question is being asked from the press. Both segments are cut off mid-sentence and the context is unclear, so we have not translated them.

He's Baaaack! Arnold Schwarzenegger's Soapy and Hypocritical Video

 Yes, Folks, Arnold Schwarzenegger, aka Governor Katzenjammer, is back in the news. The scruffy-faced, failed former governor of California has produced a 7+-minute video, with flags of America and California in the background and on his jacket, symphony music playing and all. He is piling on President Trump, calling him the "worst president in our history" and comparing what happened at the Capitol on January 6 to the "Night of the Broken Glass" in Germany in 1938. 

Whatever one thinks of Trump and the events of January 6, Schwarzenegger's video smacks of opportunism. I myself have condemned the actions of the rioters, but it's a stretch to compare it to "Kristallnacht", which happened in cities all over Germany and were specifically directed at Jews. If Arnold wants to compare the Proud Boys to the SA, he may or may not have an argument, but I would compare the SA more to Antifa, who Arnold neglected to mention. 

As for refusing to accept the results of the election, there is a reason millions of people do not. They believe, rightly or wrongly, that it was a stolen election. Schwarzenegger should also recall that for four years, the Democrats, the media and the left refused to accept the result of the 2016 election and used every hook or crook to try to remove Trump from office.

And if Arnold thinks he can hold himself up as some kind of moral voice at this sad time in our history, he is delusional. The only thing this guy could do well was pump iron. He may have made millions as an actor, but those skills were non-existent. He was also an incompetent governor, who, in his final day in office, became a corrupt governor when he commuted the murder sentence of the son of his political pal, Fabian Nuñez. Not only did he not advise the family of the murder victim, but this is the guy who scoffed and joked when a reporter tried to ask him about it. And all the while, Arnold was producing a secret love child while playing hide-the-baloney with his housemaid.

None of the above is meant to defend Trump's actions and definitely not the actions of the Capitol mob, but Schwarzenegger is a total hypocrite and a phony. So put away the Conan sword and the flags, Arnold, and please send the sym-phony orchestra home. We don't need your moral lectures.

UK: Life in Prison for Libyan Refugee Who Murdered 3

Khairi Saadallah, a 26-year-old Libyan refugee has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the knife attack last June in which he killed three men and injured three others while shouting, "Allahu Akhbar". The court rejected the defense claims of insanity and determined that Saadallah was motivated by terrorism.
