On May 5, the Netherlands celebrated the 75th anniversary of their liberation from Nazi occupation by Canadian, British and American armed forces. The below video shows greetings from various ambassadors posted to the Netherlands, including the US Ambassador, Peter Hoekstra.
As part of the 2018 commemoration (below video), a ceremony was held at the American Cemetery at Margraten. Surviving family members attended and brought photographs of their dead soldiers, which were placed on the graves.

Michael Flynn and the FBI
The headline of today is that the Justice Department has moved to formally drop the case against Michael Flynn for lying to FBI agents. This is long overdue.
The judge overseeing the case still has to put the lid on it by dismissing the charges, which should be a formality. That should have been done even before the DOJ dropped the charges. The revelations this week regarding FBI notes discussing how they should interview Flynn and to what objective ended any doubt that the FBI had acted in an unethical manner.
I take no pleasure in writing this as a former federal agent (DEA). But I feel in my heart what those agents did to Flynn was against the very spirit of the law under our democratic system of justice.
During my own career I had several occasions to interview people who were targets of an investigation, usually after arrest, but occasionally prior to actually being charged. In most cases (unless they exercised their right to a lawyer etc.), they told me lies. Sometimes I knew at the time they were lies. I was later able to testify in court that they had lied and present the evidence that contradicted their statements. To me, it was just another element of proof that they were guilty of the underlying drug offense. However, I never charged anyone for lying to a federal agent (18 USC 1001), and I never conducted an interview with that end in mind. I never went into an interview with the aim of getting somebody fired from a job. And similarly, I never went back after I submitted a report favorable to the suspect and in effect, changed that report to the suspect's detriment.
On that latter point, let me explain the proper procedure. We are human and sometimes investigative reports are written and submitted that later turn out to have factual errors in them. In that case, the agent who wrote the original report has an obligation to write a follow up report to the case file pointing out the error and correcting it. You don't make the original report disappear.
Once the agent signs a report, it is reviewed and signed by that agent's immediate supervisor. From there it is distributed to the relevant parties. Who are the relevant parties? Those would be other field offices involved in the investigation as well as the relevant headquarters sections. Naturally, a copy goes into the case file(s). Those reports, in the event of eventual prosecution, are legally available to the defense attorney. It is called the Law of Discovery or the Brady Act. (There are some exceptions if the material is not deemed relevant to the actual prosecution, but in Flynn's case, the original report made after the interview, which reportedly indicated that Flynn was being truthful, should have been turned over to his defense council under Discovery-especially if it was exculpatory. Instead, what they (and the public) got was drips and drops over a three-year period.
The treatment of Flynn is much like the treatment of Carter Page, who was subjected to electronic monitoring based on a fraudulent dossier prepared by a former British intelligence agent hired by entities who ultimately were paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC. The FBI knew the dossier was highly suspect, yet included it in affidavits to the FISA court to conduct electronic surveillance on Page, a man who has never been charged with anything. James Comey himself signed off on three of the affidavits himself. And here is Comey crying about today's action and telling DOJ officials to stay and fight back. Fight back against what-bringing corrupt agents to justice?
James Comey, Rod Rosenstein, Bruce Ohr, Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page and others violated the civil rights of people in the Trump camp because they wanted to influence the outcome of an election and continued to do so even after the election and after the inauguration to bring down a duly-elected president-all based on a lie. The lie was that Trump and people in his campaign were complicit in Russian efforts to meddle in our election.
I don't condemn the rank and file agents, but the FBI suffered from a rot at the top, a feeling of superiority that led them to think they could white wash the Clinton email case-which they did- and then submarine Trump. This attitude of superiority goes deep back in history-all the way to J Edgar Hoover. He was the man who built the FBI into the law enforcement agency none other could match in turns of resources and sophistication. He also made it into an agency that at times was above the law. Several directors since Hoover's death have tried to reform the agency-with mixed results.
Like your average DEA agent, I was not a fan of the FBI. Yet I ended my career with DEA as a trainer at the FBI Academy, a great experience. In the war on Islamic terror, I have been a solid supporter of the FBI and the terror strikes they have thwarted. As I stated, this present corruption was at the top and should not be considered as something most field agents would do. Indeed, it seems that the operations aimed at Carter Page and Michael Flynn were not carried out by field agents at the Washington Field Office-rather by high level supervisors at Hqs. That itself should have raised red flags.
James Comey, in spite of all his moral posturing, brought disgrace to the FBI. He himself was part of the cabal aimed against both Flynn and Page.
And about the current director, Christopher Wray? True, the scandal took place before his watch, but he has an obligation to help clean up the filth. If he is not, if he is merely trying to withhold information that would damage the agency-then he too should be fired.
Meanwhile, DOJ must continue the investigation into possible criminal wrongdoing by government officials. If indictments are warranted, let them come.

David Randall has a great op-ed in PJ Media for how the federal government should treat universities looking for bailout dollars. There should be some strings attached. The National Association of Scholars has sent a letter (which you can sign onto) to President Trump outlining the strings that should be attached. I have signed it and I urge you to do so as well.

To those of you who cry, "freedom of expression," I say that it is not a matter of closing schools or firing professors. But where does it say that we tax-payers have to fund this insanity passing as education in our universities? It is a fact of life that those who fund things will have a say in how they are run. For publicly-funded universities, it is not their job to advance certain points of view at the expense of others. If,say, the University of California wants to advance the causes of illegal aliens, Palestinians, communism, the Democrat party, and the idea that there are 50+ genders in the world, let them become private institutions and pay their own freight.

Operation Rimfrost in Sweden

Here is the latest news out of Sweden. It is about Operation Rimfrost, a police operation to cut back on the shootings and murders. Apparently, it didn't work out too well. Naturally, what is missing in this report is the fact that the shootings are carried out pretty much exclusively by Muslim gangs.
Too bad Operation Rimfrost didn't include shutting down the borders and kicking the foreign criminals out of the country.

Tariq Ramadan Tweets About Freedom of Expression

Tariq Ramadan, the Swiss-born Islamic scholar and intellectual, who is the grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan al Banna, has just put out a tweet this week regarding scholars and intellectuals who are imprisoned and/or tortured for their beliefs. Ramadan is currently being prosecuted in France for rape based on the accusations of several women.

Ramadan made headlines several years ago when he called for a moratorium on stoning for adulterers, claiming that it was being applied unfairly. In 2012, I saw him speak twice in Southern California, and on one occasion at Loyola Marymount University, I got a chance to have a 5-minute one-on-one with him in which I asked why he didn't simply call for its abolition. His response was to refer somewhat vaguely to "the texts" and added that it would have to be gradually abolished other- wise "the Muslims wouldn't accept it."
Previously, Ramadan had complained about being "abandoned" by many Muslims and that his case is a political set-up. He has admitted engaging in sexual affairs that undermine his religious piety as a Muslim.
“Now if you come to the case, the way I was put in jail, the way I was treated. Now I am vocal. I am able to speak out and to say what happened to me is happening to so many Arabs and Muslims in the European jails and in the French jails as it’s happening to black and Muslims in the American jails."
I have no idea as to whether the rape charges against Ramadan are true or not. As to this week's tweet, I am not entirely clear in what kind of context it was made. (This week, he has also tweeted in defense of Julian Assange and prisoners in Bangladesh.)
Is Ramadan including himself in this category? Is there something between the lines here? I also see a bit of hypocrisy here.
If some Muslims are being imprisoned for their beliefs, how many of them are imprisoned in Muslim countries? As for the Muslims in French, European, or American jails that Ramadan references above, I disagree. They are there because they have engaged in terrorist activities or committed other crimes. In the case of Europe, many have engaged in violent hate speech, which under European laws, can be prosecuted just as non-Muslims in Europe have been prosecuted for hate speech-and in some case, what is deemed hate speech.
What about all the non-Muslim minorities in Muslim-majority lands who are in jail, isolated and/or tortured for thinking freely-in other words, belonging to another religion or no religion at all-or for having left Islam? Many, probably most, are not scholars or intellectuals but simply ordinary people, such as Asia Bibi in Pakistan or the Baha'is in Iran. The list is long. I have always found it amazing how so many Muslim leaders constantly complain about Islamophobia while denying the obvious- that Islam is the most intolerant religion on earth. Ramadan speaks of freedom of expression, but under Islam, there is no freedom of expression when it comes to criticizing Islam or the Prophet Mohammad. That calls for the death penalty.
Ramadan is believed by many to be a reformer within Islam. I don't buy it. To me, he is just another one of those skilled communicators who makes non-Muslims feel good. In his case, he is one of the most skilled. He is smart, eloquent, urbane, and impressive in both English and French.
I have no desire to see Ramadan locked away for his beliefs. Given the climate in France today, I have a hard time believing they would try to imprison him for that sole reason. As to the rape charges, I only hope that truth will prevail. Taken alone, the words in his tweet are benign. With Ramadan, however, it seems there is always something between the lines.

We must not forget all the scholars and the intellectuals (many are Muslims) who are in jail, isolated and/or tortured. Their only fault, mistake or sin is to think freely. We may agree or not with their thoughts, yet we shouldn't be silent when freedom of expressions is trampled

Muslim Brotherhood in Sweden (4)

This is the fourth in a series of translations of Swedish articles regarding the presence of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sweden. It is part of a larger series of translations on the MB in Western European countries written in the original languages. * Agreements for crisis readiness in order to increase stamina in case of crisis in, for example, communication, health protection, hazardous substances, or nuclear accidents.
Defense trainers are responsible for comprehensive activity within both Sweden's defense and crisis readiness.
Together with the municipality of Huddinge, defense trainers arrange free digital training in crisis readiness-for your security. Training consists of three 15 minute films, and there are texts in Arabic, Kurdish, and Turkish as well as Swedish sign language. The training is offered in cooperation with ABF Huddinge and the Swedish Church in Huddinge, as well as the Ibn Rushd Study Association.
The Ibn Rushd Study Association is one of the Muslim Brotherhood's network organizations in Sweden. Through personal unions and activity, like for example, the now-defunct Muslim Family Days, there is a direct connection with the Islamic network organization. Mainly through the connections between Ibn Rushd, Sweden's Young Muslims, and FIFS, (United Islamic Associations in Sweden), which constitutes the links to, among others, the Muslim Brotherhood's Egyptian organization as well as the Brotherhood's ideological leader, Yussef al Qaradawi.
It is not only in Johan Westerholm's "Islamism in Sweden" (Greycat 2020) where personal unions between the Muslim Brotherhood and Ibn Rushd are presented. Also, not least, that the Muslim Brotherhood rests upon a totalitarian and basically fascist ideology.
Within the defense sectors, there is knowledge, and the Public Education Council has come to the same conclusion. The Public Education Council's report on the Ibn Rushd Study Association by Professor Erik Amnå, "When Trust Is Tested", comes to the same conclusion. Amnå points out earlier warning signals in the form of the report that FOI (Swedish Defense Research Agency) produced for the SST (Swedish Support to Faith Communities) authorities through Rickard Lagervall. This study concluded that the study association, at the founding of the organization, rested upon the Brotherhood's ideological and theological interpretation of the Koran.
That the Muslim Brotherhood is now taking the opportunity to strengthen its position in society together with the Swedish Church is something that isn't surprising, and is as Ledarsidorna earlier pointed out. Partly because the government has now been influenced to remove requirements for self-financing of aid projects, but also through cooperation with the Swedish Church. Cooperation with the defense forces-connected civil society organizations comes as no surprise either.

In the shadow of the Corona-crisis, the Muslim Brotherhood network of organizations has begun to establish cooperation with defense forces' civil society organizations. An establishment together with ABF (Worker Education Association) and the Swedish Church which again makes it clear the high level of the Brotherhood's organization as well as communication skill. A capacity that is built up over a long time.

In an earlier article, Ledarsidorna described how the Swedish Church initiated cooperation within the framework of the project, A World of Neighbors", with another of the Muslim Brotherhood's network organizations, Islamic Relief.
The cooperation also includes the Muslim Cultural Heritage Center in Kensington, London. The Center is more known as the Manaar Mosque, and should be considered as one of Great Britain's more extreme Islamic milieus. Al Manaar has among its former parishioners, ISIS executioner, "Jihadi John", who became known for his videotaped executions of war prisoners, along with the at least as brutal "The hip-hop jihadist". The Corona crisis provides a possibility to take a further step in the Brotherhood's wider establishment in different societal functions. It can now be seen to have begun an establishment in the Armed Forces civil society organizations and thereby in the Swedish total defense.
The cooperation also includes the Muslim Cultural Heritage Center in Kensington, London. The Center is more known as the Manaar Mosque, and should be considered as one of Great Britain's more extreme Islamic milieus. Note: The municipality of Eskilstuna has recently stopped all payments to the Ibn Rushd Study Association (citing) that the association is one of the Muslim Brotherhood's network organizations in Sweden.

Corona Virus in Italy: Are the Numbers Inflated?

As the debate opens up as to when countries and states should start reopening, a debate is also beginning as to the numbers of infections and deaths caused by the Corona virus.
I take no position on the latter question Yet, I am translating and posting a video from late last month, in which Vittorio Sgarbi, an Italian MP from the Forza Italia party is speaking and claiming that the number of 25,000 deaths in Italy from the Corona virus is grossly inflated, and that the vast majority of deaths have occurred from other diseases. He is quoting statistics reported by the Higher Institute of Health.
The video is 4 minutes long and worth a view. Sgarbi argues passionately that the numbers of deaths are inflated for the purposes of bringing about a dictatorship in Italy.

Anti-Semitism in the Netherlands: Who?

I am translating and cross-posting a column by Ozair Hamid in the Dagelijkse Standaard (Nl). In this piece he reacts to a recent news report in the Netherlands linking some members of the conservative Forum for Democracy party to anti-Semitism. While decrying anti-Semitism from the right, Hamid points out that the biggest danger to the Jewish community comes from the radical left and radical Muslims.

Ozair Hamid Column: Who are the real anti-Semites in the Netherlands?
HP/DeTijd published an article a few days ago in which the Whatsup reports (messages) from a number of people, within their own circle, who are or were possibly connected in a certain way to (J) FVD (Forum for Democracy) were revealed. That confirmed what was already known: The extreme right structurally undercuts Jews. How big is this problem in the Netherlands, and which actors are involved in this?
In spite of the beautiful, progressive philosophy, anti-Semitism is present as a parasite nestled in our society. To fight this, it is important that the concerned exterminator (read: all of society) discovers the base in order to be able to destroy such a poisonous ideology. The damage that the parasite does is incalculable for many. From recent publications, it is revealed that 45% of Jewish youth do not dare to show any Jewish symbols or wear them in public, given the decreasing safety-while the Netherlands was once the cradle of religious tolerance.
The situation on the European continent has gotten so out of hand that more than 4 in 10 Jewish youth are considering emigrating, since the safety can no longer be guaranteed by our fellow-Europeans. And, as has been stated, the perpetrators must be brought before justice.
The most recent incident demonstrated the role of right-wing youth, but it is important that society doesn't point all its arrows at them alone. They are only a relatively small group of the perpetrators with their number at 17% (which doesn't diminish the act).
In the interest of society, it is vitally important to keep in mind who makes up the largest threat for the Jewish community, extreme Muslims and extreme-left, Marxist scum.
The number of neo-Marxists and radicalized Muslims is more than 50%. Just as before the Second World War in Germany, the left side of the political spectrum is active in advance, which must be prevented at all costs. The National Socialists, from the SP (Socialist Party) and the Labour party to Hamas (or are they inherent to each other?) make the lives of Jews more toxic every time through always-increasing isolation and an increase in threats, etc.
By that- by accepting what lies on the fringes-such as what was done last week, in spite of the relatively valid reasoning, always shifts the moral boundary a little more, in which escalation can not be observed- and it is just this that went so wrong from (19)33.
So do not be tolerant towards leftist intolerance, in order that the liberal, tolerant character of our society remains guaranteed.

More Bad News out of Pakistan
As is normal, the news concerning Pakistan this week is depressing. The below three hyperlinks represent a confluence of three sad stories that have characterized this country in recent years, the murder of US journalist Daniel Pearl, a government minister calling for the be heading of those who blaspheme Islam, and the discrimination and persecution of the minority Ahmadiya sect.
Last month, a Pakistani court threw out convictions against four men convicted in the beheading of Jewish American journalist Daniel Pearl. The parents of Daniel have joined in a challenge to this decision as outlined in the below Algemeiner report. Fortunately, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the man who has proudly admitted he actually carried out the beheading of Pearl, is in US custody.
Now comes Pakistani Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Khan with his statement this week that blasphemers (of Islam and the Prophet Mohammad) should be beheaded.
Which probably shouldn't raise too many waves in Pakistan since the penalty for blasphemy against Islam in Pakistan is, indeed, the death penalty (which is normally by hanging).
Also mentioned in the Instant article is the Ahmadiya issue, also very sensitive in Pakistan. The Ahmadiya Muslims are a branch if Islam that mainstream Muslims do not recognize and consider as heretics. They believe in a 19th century prophet (Ahmad) who preached in what was then British-ruled India. Today, Ahmadiya in Pakistan are badly persecuted and not allowed to practice Islam openly. Hence the controversy over having one of their members in the Pakistani government.
The Ahmadiya have a pretty good track record in not being involved in terrorism, and they preach a message of mutual respect among religions. However, they do consider themselves Muslims and will use all the nice talking points about Mohammad, shariah, and Islam that you hear from mainstream Muslims in the US interfaith activities.
I happened to attend one of their events at UC Irvine in 2013 when their representatives from the Chino, California mosque came to lecture. Prior to the start of the event, I spoke at length with the main imam about the persecution they faced in Pakistan, and he was quite open about it. Yet during the event's q and a, I had to work overtime to get him to tell the audience that they were, in fact, persecuted by mainstream Muslims.
It's not a pretty picture coming out of Pakistan, a country that is supposed to be considered one of our strategic allies, sort of like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. And let us not forget that this is the country where Usama bin Laden was hiding in a compound just down the road from the national military academy.
My prayers go with the Pearl family, and I can only hope justice will prevail in Pakistan. I am not optimistic.

It's Wakeup Time in Ottawa

Ottawa, Canada has joined other cities in setting a 5 am wake up call for all. That's because it's Ramadan, and mosques are being given permission to blast their early morning prayers for the whole neighborhood to hear.
And not just that, aside from the religious verses recited in Arabic, they are getting a healthy dose (in English) of prayers for the Palestinians and damnation for those Zionist Jews. That's because the man with the microphone standing in the street in front of the mosque, Firas Al Najim, is a fervent supporter of the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

None of them have lowered the shutter; they are considered the same as super markets, "In reality they have been transformed into meeting places for the foreigners who camp out with their beer in hand," complains Roberto. "They can do what they want, they have always done what they feel like, while we don't even know if we will reopen," he explains. The bad news spread in the area where this kind of activity has by now taken hold is evident from a series of videos.
Testimonies that tell how for some categories of operators, the anti-contagion measures are waste paper. Augusta Montaruli, deputy of Fratelli d'Italia, has recounted dozens of reports like these. They all come from the ex-worker quarters of the city, from the multi-ethnic streets of Turin that escape the radar of the institutions: Corso (Street) Vercelli, Corso Giulio Cesare, Along Dora Firenze, Via Martorelli. The so-called free zones, often protagonists of the news for episodes of drug dealing, fights and decay. Corso Giulio Cesare, for example, ended up under the spotlights about 10 days ago. when some 100 people tried to prevent the arrest of two robbers. Scenes of urban guerrilla warfare which have aroused sensation and indignation. But yet, after that afternoon of madness, things have not changed. In Barriera di Milano, anarchy still reigns.
"Shutters lowered, businesses closed, workers who, unfortunately, fear for their wages. Many already do not receive them and in some cities, even the takeaway (take out) is prevented, as happened in Turin. It is said that is why gatherings must be prevented. But we have been complaining for some time, the gatherings already occur: Just take a tour in our peripheries to realize it. They happen when the sun comes up. In front of the eyes of everybody. Unpunished," explains Montaruli. In the complaint videos received by the parliamentarian, dozens of migrants are seen crowded (in front of) the exit of the mini-markets, without masks or gloves. The comings and goings are continuous, and there is no sign of the police.

Fousesquawk comment: For the millionth time since I started this blog (2007), let me repeat that I am not anti-immigrant and that I happen to be married to one. Illegal immigration and false claims of refugee status are another matter-especially as it pertains to the situation in Europe. Italy is flooded with unaccompanied young males from the Middle East and Africa who are not contributing to the country they have chosen to migrate to, nor do they intend to. In Europe, the entire principle of immigration, asylum and refuge has been perverted. By what right do these people arrive in a new country and flaunt its rules during a pandemic. Italy is one of the hardest-hit Corona virus countries in the world, and they cannot cope with both these crises at the same time.
And Italy, like most other Western European countries, will not survive as a society if they continue to turn a blind eye to the outrages being committed by far too many of these so-called "immigrants".

Fousesquawk comment: For the millionth time since I started this blog (2007), let me repeat that I am not anti-immigrant and that I happen to be married to one. Illegal immigration and false claims of refugee status are another matter-especially as it pertains to the situation in Europe. Italy is flooded with unaccompanied young males from the Middle East and Africa who are not contributing to the country they have chosen to migrate to, nor do they intend to. In Europe, the entire principle of immigration, asylum and refuge has been perverted. By what right do these people arrive in a new country and flaunt its rules during a pandemic. Italy is one of the hardest-hit Corona virus countries in the world, and they cannot cope with both these crises at the same time.
And Italy, like most other Western European countries, will not survive as a society if they continue to turn a blind eye to the outrages being committed by far too many of these so-called "immigrants".
