Rutgers Under Investigation by US DOE

If the number of articles I have written about anti-Semitism at Rutgers is any yardstick, Rutgers is one of the worst universities in the country when it comes to campus anti-Semitism. One of its professors, Jasbir Puar, has been featured often on this site. She has been at Rutgers for two decades and is still there as best I can tell. In 2017, Puar and two other Rutgers professors, Mazen Adi and Michael Chikindas, came under criticism for anti-Semitic statements. Their "academic freedom" was defended by the university president.

In 2020, Rashida Tlaib (2023 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year) spoke at Rutgers, and a Jewish man was thrown out of the event for asking a hardball question about her history of anti-Semitic statements.

On December 11, 2023, the US Department of Education-Office of Civil Rights, opened an investigation into complaints of discrimination by Jewish students. This is how the Daily Targum (Rutgers campus newspaper) reported it two days later.

On December 12, 2023, Rutgers (New Brunswick) suspended the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter for their tactics of disruption of campus activities in the wake of the October 7 attack by Hamas. On December 13, the Daily Targum , published a statement by SJP crying over their suspension. Not to be outdone, the Rutgers Faculty for Justice in Palestine also issued its own hysterical statement, which was also duly published by the Daily Targum. I must compliment Rutgers for suspending SJP. Hopefully, they will make it permanent.

Ironically, Rutgers' website has a page entitled "2023: A year in Review". Naturally, there is no mention of the events going on since October 7, the SJP suspension, or the investigation by DOE. It's all happy-face stuff.
