"No more blah blah blah"
Joe Biden wasn't the only bizarre presence in Glasgow for the UN climate shindig this week. Greta Thunberg, Sweden's Sweetheart, was also there putting in her two kronors worth.
The below video from the Swedish news outlet, Expressen, is translated (in part) by Fousesquawk. Greta does the rest in perfect English.

You sure are good at mocking some teenage girl.
I'd like to see you take on the actual scientists (who represent an overwhelming majority) who are talking about climate change.
Don't clutch those pearls too hard. You might choke yourself.
Anonymous,
If you are not careful, I might name Greta as the 2021 Jerk of the Year.
Thanks for poking fun at a figure who takes herself much too seriously. Hysterical teenage girls sure get the media attention. When she's older she'll look back on all of this with chagrin.
By the way, here we go again: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-59181509
There are governors who are currently doing all that they can to prolong the Covid epidemic, but the biggest jerk you can think of is a teenage girl.
That definitely tells us something - just not what you think it does.
"There are governors who are currently doing all that they can to prolong the Covid epidemic..."
That's a very subjective comment. Would you care to defend it with reasons and examples?
The governors of Florida and Texas, despite having some of the worst transmission rates of the disease, tried to ban mask mandates in schools. Do I need to explain why that's bad?
This is just simple reality. The places, like California, that are promoting masks and vaccines, are doing far better.
I have to wonder if those governors actively want their constituents to get sick.
Of course not. Give me a plausible motive. You forget that the kids are not getting the covid.
Kids aren't getting Covid? Are you kidding me?
They get it less, and less serious than adults, but they do get it. There ARE kids who have died because of it (and disproportionately in black and Hispanic communities).
But even if there were zero who died, they can still spread it.
But yeah, Swedish teenager says bad words...
And how many children have died of covid? Do you really want every kid in every school to wear a mask and get the vaccine? How long is this supposed to go on?
I don't consider myself an ideologue on this issue, but a never-ending lockdown is not the solution.
Seems to me that if you don't want a never-ending lockdown, you'd be all in favor of masks and vaccines. (You know that schools are in session now, right? How well do you think the ones that don't have a mask mandate are doing compared to the ones that do?)
How do your two points even cognitively go together? Do you think that it's just going to magically go away if we don't do something about it? I know that Trump thought so - at least, that's what he liked to say.
And kids are already required to get vaccinated for several different diseases. How is this different? (It's not.)
A quick search shows that about 700 kids have died of covid. A small number compared to the overall population, but I doubt that their parents see it that way.
But again, even if every one of them survived it, they can still spread it to people who will get far more sick and die.
Come on, Fouse. These guys are actively advocating policies that bring real harm. Their Covid cases weren't so high because of a coincidence.
But I suppose it's easier to pick on a teenage girl, isn't it? That's gotta make a grown man like you feel good about yourself.
You really need to get off of this "picking on a poor teenage girl" line. I laid off of her before but now she is an adult going around getting in peoples' faces. That's her right, but she is open to mockery and criticism like any other adult.
As I said, I am no ideologue on this, I wear a mask where mandated in public and I have been vaccinated, but I think parents should have a say in whether their kids get vaccinated. I am not anti-vax, but I think people should have a choice especially when it comes to their kids.
They do have a choice. And if they choose to not vaccinate, they have to home school.
How old are you? Did you go to public school? You know that mandated vaccinations aren't a new thing, right? How do you think that polio went away?
How did we get sidetracked on covid? My post was about Greta and climate change.
To answer your question: I am 76, and I was vaccinated for polio in my public school way back around 1950 or so. Children were very susceptible to polio as opposed to children being susceptible to covid.
Some people are concerned that the vaccines were rushed through the testing process in the US (thanks to Trump). I assume that the polio vaccine went through all the rigamarole mandated at the time.
You are aware, aren't you that some people have died after taking the vaccine. In Europe, they have had a lot of problems with Astra Zeneca.
How did we get sidetracked on Covid? You know that this whole conversation is still posted on your page, right?
I love the double-sided talking point of "We need to thank Trump for the vaccines" AND "the vaccines were rushed." Do I thank him for rushing a vaccine? Or do I blame him? Do we thank him for the ones that didn't receive "Operation Warp Speed" funding? (Like Pfizer, which I got?)
Some people have died from taking the vaccine? You know that people have died from Covid, right? Your chances are better - even with the AstraZeneca (which isn't even the one that people here are getting, so that's a red-herring.)
The fact is that the overwhelming majority of epidemiologists, doctors, etc. recommend the vaccine.
But, considering that you attack some 18 year old girl for siding with the overwhelming majority of climate scientists, I guess that facts, science, and expert consensus don't matter as much to you as ideology.
I guess I'll revert to my original comment - why don't you try debating the actual climatologists of this planet instead of some 18 year old girl who's passionate about the subject? Is it because she's an easier target and you're afraid the actual experts will put you in your place?
You didn't have to be so long-winded. The truth is I don't know what the truth is about the climate. I'm not debating anybody on this except to say before we dismantle our economies and turn our countries over to some international body or bodies, we need to know exactly what the truth is.
My reference to thanks to Trump was merely to point out the irony.
