CAIR's Latest Propaganda Offensive

Hat tip Steve

The Southern California chapter of CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) is engaged in a new propaganda venture. Together with the liberal attorney general of California, Rob Bonta, they are setting up something called the Center for the Prevention of Hate and Bullying (CPHB), which will be devoted to stop bullying of Muslim children in schools.

Let me be clear: To the extent that any Muslim child might be bullied in school due to his or her religion is wrong and should be confronted and stopped. Bullying among children is a sad fact of life. I was bullied as a child, and to my great regret, I engaged in bullying too. Bullying also goes on between children of the same race or religious background.

Having said that, it would be nice if CAIR's Southern California chapter CEO, Hussam Ayloush, a man with whom I have crossed swords, showed the same concern for Jewish kids who are being bullied, not just in secondary schools, but in universities as well.

I might also point out that Ayloush is hardly the right person to be leading campaigns against anything. This is a man who many have said is a bully himself. This is the man who asked-in my presence- why people were talking about fighting extremism in mosques and talking about  Muslim Americans who traveled to join ISIS and not talking about the "thousands of Jewish American kids who were joining the Israel Defense Forces and killing the people of Gaza". Don't take my word on that. Here is the video of Ayloush speaking at the Orange County Islamic Center in January 2015. The video was shot by Yours Truly. Ayloush is hardly concerned about Jewish students being bullied directly as a result of the campaign of hate directed toward the Jewish state of Israel by Ayloush, CAIR, and their cohorts too numerous to list here.

Years later  (May 2019), when I attempted to ask Ayloush about that specific comment, he refused to even address the question. He simply attacked the questioner.

According to this report from the Investigative Project on Terrorism, on October 22, 2000, Ayloush spoke at a protest in front of the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles. On that occasion, members of the Muslim Student Association UCLA were reportedly chanting, "Death to Israel; death to Jews". (I am unaware of any existing video of that.)

As stated above, all bullying is wrong, and I don't want to see Muslim kids bullied. I suspect, however, that this latest venture by Ayloush and his organization (CAIR) is more designed to silence criticism of Islam than it has to do with bullying.
