Hunter Biden's Chinese Connections and Our Media

More news is coming out on Hunter Biden's business deals. Yesterday, it was Ukraine. Now it is China. The NY Post has details surrounding e-mails recovered from a  laptop reportedly belonging to Hunter Biden.

We have long known that while Joe Biden was vice president, then-President Obama handed him the portfolios of dealing with Ukraine and China. It is also known that Vice President Biden took his son, Hunter along with him on an official trip to China, and that Hunter Biden returned with a lucrative business contract. It appears the e-mails give supporting details as to how Hunter profited from his relationship with his vice president father.

"Neither Biden’s lawyer, the Joe Biden campaign, Gilliar, Dong nor Ho’s lawyers returned requests for comment, but Biden’s lawyer has previously said, “There is no need for comment on any so-called information provided by Rudy Giuliani.

“He has been pushing widely discredited conspiracy theories about the Biden family, openly relying on actors tied to Russian intelligence. His record of dishonesty in these matters speaks for itself,” lawyer George Mesires added."

Fousesquawk comment: Mr Mesires and the Biden circle can try to discredit the story based on Rudy Giuliani's reported role in releasing this information. However, these e-mails, while they may or may not be indicative of anything illegal on Hunter Biden's part, do suggest that Joe Biden may have used his position as vice president to enrich his son. Yesterday, it was reported that the Senate Committee on Homeland Security was working to "validate" the e-mails. That is what they should do. If it turns out that these e-mails have been somehow cooked up by opponents of Joe Biden, that should also be brought out. In the meantime, it would be helpful and informative if the Biden camp came out and said those e-mails are somehow falsified or have an entirely different meaning.

And of course, the mainstream media is slow in catching up to the story. CNN has nothing on it on their website, and MSNBC is only running an op-ed attacking the earlier Ukraine aspect of the mysterious e-mails. Nothing about the China revelations. I have been unable as of this writing to find anything on the news websites of ABC, NBC, CBS, or the New York Times. The Washington Post website ("Democracy dies in darkness") shows this article relating to the story. It defends the actions of Facebook and Twitter while omitting any reference to the Chinese allegations.

There are also two other related articles below that story, but they are open only to subscribers. I can, however, give you the titles:

Trump allies go after Hunter-and Joe-Biden

So there it is. The MSM either ignores the story or gives a pro-Biden slant. And I don't buy into these so-called "fact-checkers" either. Too many of them are biased as well. In addition, yesterday, Rush Limbaugh claimed that the NYT and the Washington Post are holding back anti-Trump "revelations" until just before the election to maximize their impact. Is this true? I do not know. However, I urge readers to follow the online news sites of these major media outlets. They are filled to the brim with articles that are pro-Biden and anti-Trump. To be fair, the Fox News online site is full of articles that are anti-Biden and pro-Trump. The sad fact is that aside from news about train wrecks and ball scores, our news media is basically nothing but opinions. That's OK if you are a radio talk show host or a blogger like me. But is it OK for our mainstream news media?
