We have been following the controversy over the proposed ethnic studies bill (AB1460) which was up for Governor Gavin Newsom's signature. The bill had been opposed by several Jewish organizations who had urged Newsom not to sign it. On Monday, Newsom signed it.

Newsom's signing of this bill is disappointing for reasons I and others have already outlined. It is hardly surprising, however.
