Since the death of DHS whistle blower Philip Haney, questions persist as to how he really died. Officially, the death is still under investigation.Those who knew Phil best insist he would not have committed suicide, which was the original report. The Amador County (Ca) Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the FBI in its investigation.
It is now being reported that the weapon involved was a shotgun, which was recovered from the scene. Haney was previously reported to have suffered a bullet wound to the chest area.
Members of Congress, most notably Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and Steven King (R-IA) are attempting to hold the authorities' feet to the fire in conducting a full and thorough investigation into Haney's death.

Whatever the true cause of Haney's death, it is imperative that the truth come out. Haney had enemies, and any time one who has enemies dies unexpectedly, foul play cannot be ruled out. I myself am venturing no opinion, but, if in the event authorities rule the death to be a suicide, they should be prepared to present compelling evidence.
