What to Expect Today

Sometime this afternoon, two things are expected to happen. First, Britain officially leaves the EU. Second, the Senate will vote not to hear witnesses and will vote to acquit President Trump.

Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski (R) has just announced she will vote "no" on the question of witnesses. With Mitt Romney and Susan Collins expected to vote 'yes", that would give the Republicans a 51-49 majority.

Of course, the Brexit vote has long been in the books, and finally, the British people will have their way. That is set to take effect at 3 pm, PST-jsu about the time the impeachment trial ends.

*Update: Oh wait! What's this?

"The resolution may set up a process that would allow senators to speak about their views on the floor in an open session. Senators who have not spoken on the floor for days are eager to get a chance to speak."

That's all we need. Now we need to listen to 100 senators pontificate.
