Why Did We Take Out Ghaddafi?

Hat tip Gates of Vienna, Vlad Tepes and HeHa

On January 22, we posted claims by Italian Fratelli D'Italia (political party) leader Giorgia Meloni bringing the public's attention to the use of French Colonial Francs by France for use as currency in 14 African nations.

Now Meloni has produced a copy of a State Department e-mail apparently released in 2015, which would suggest that one reason France removed Ghadaffi from power in Libya (2011) was because he intended to replace this currency with a Libyan-based currency. Hillary Clinton, who was secretary of State, is also mentioned as receiving this email from an American official. The date of the email is not given, but it was reportedly sent to her when she was secretary of State.

Of course, Meloni did not read the email in the video, and there is much we don't know about the details. As is well known, the US was also involved in the military action against Ghadaffi and Mrs Clinton was closely associated with our involvement in the Libyan civil war. (NATO supported the opposition fighting against the Libyan government.)

The results for Libya have been obvious. Not to defend Ghaddafi, who should have been taken out after the Pan Am 103 attack, but the country is now in chaos. It is a staging ground for African migrants trying to get into Europe (if they aren't sold as slaves in Libya).

I cannot vouch for the veracity of the referenced email, but it sure seems worth exploring.
