The Los Angeles chapter of CAIR has witten a letter to the regents and chancellors of the University of California complaining about a 2018 joint letter from the chancellors voicing their opposition to the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

The CEO of the Los Angeles and SoCal CAIR chapter is none other than Hussam Ayloush, a man with many objectionable statements about Jews in his past.
But here is where it gets interesting. Back in 2013 at the CAIR national confrence in Anaheim, Ayloush told a questioner that CAIR was a US civil rights organization and "wasn't in the business of getting dragged into in Middle East affairs." That was before he lost his cool when asked about CAIR's support for Hamas.
