The Swedish Immigration Debate

I am posting a debate that took place in the Swedish Parliament way back in  2013. In this video (Swedish w. English sub-titles), Kent Ekeroth of the Sweden Democrats makes the case against the unlimited immigration that has turned Sweden from a once peaceful nation into a place where Swedes no longer feel safe.  Ekeroth is then confronted by several politicians from other parties who challenge his assertions with silly arguments with little substance. None of them acknowledges the crime among the (mostly Muslim) immigrant communities. Ekeroth easily refutes them.

Ekeroth himself is of Jewish-Kazakh extraction.

The first woman who challenges Ekeroth is a woman of Finnish-Sami origin. (Sami are the indigenous people of Sweden, largely concentrated in the north.) She points out that her people were once subject to great discrimination in Sweden. At one time, they were the targets of the proponents of eugenics. They had their heads measured by "scientists", were sterilized, and were told not to speak their native languages. Ekeroth correctly points out that these people were the victims of none other than the Social Democrats, who subscribed to many racist and Nazi policies back in the time of Nazi Germany. For decades the Social Democrats dominated Swedish politics.

The video is 23 minutes but well worth watching even five years later. The same arguments hold true today.
