Hat tip Daily Bruin
We have previously reported about the drive to require incoming UCLA students to take a "diversity course", so they can be properly educated as to their "white privilege" and all that other nonsense UCLA is teaching the kids.
"Privileged bruin"
In the below Daily Bruin Op-Ed page, a group of faculty have written a letter urging that the diversity requirement (that they themselves have voted on and passed) be adopted. To make it even more ridiculous they attack the suggestion that a campus-wide faculty vote be taken on the measure as being undemocratic.

"Nevertheless, a small group of opponents has undermined this democratic process, taking unprecedented steps to impede the adoption of this curricular change by forcing a campus-wide faculty vote."
Sounds like the Democratic Peoples' Republic of California at Los Angeles
Naturally, I added my comment. I also inserted something in there about the two ladies who teach "Chicano/a Studies". I can't believe they are still calling it Chicano Studies. When I was growing up in the West LA area about a mile from the UCLA campus, Chicanos is what the kids in the gangs called themselves. They were the guys who wore khakis and Sir Guy shirts. (Full disclosure: I did too for a couple of years.) My wife, who is Mexican, would be insulted if someone called her a Chicana.

As a long-time exponent of the observation "Ain't nobody white except lepers and albinos" (II Kings 5:27), I love your "priveleged bruin" photo.
Good to see you are catching up with current events, Siarlys, albeit belatedly. You are not reading my blog everyday. Bad boy.
Don't know how else to contact you....Gary are you going to the talk tonight at UCI?
David Makovsky will be speaking to the UC Irvine community on "Seeking Justice: Strengthening the Prospects for Middle East Peace" at 7pm in Engineering Tower 204.
Anonymous,
I wasn't planning to. Are you planning a hit on me or something?
ha ha.
I thought I'd bring it to your attention that he was giving a talk in case you didn't know since I thought you might be interest in what he has to say.
Anonymous,
Actually I plan to go to a Christian church event supporting Israel and Jews in Irvine instead. I have posted the announcement of it here. Frankly, I am not a big fan of Hillel and even less so of the Rose Project and their masters at the Jewish Federation.
I have to earn a living Gary. I'm not retired. And this rehab house I'm paying taxes on still needs a lot of work. Besides, there is more interesting stuff to comment about at The American Conservative.
