At War or Not at War?

"Are we at war, Ollie?"

"Why no, Stanley. It's a sustained overseas contingency operation."

"We are not at war with ISIS."

If you are confused, so am I. Some weeks ago, our "commander-in-chief" announced that we were not at war with ISIS. That was long after Bashar Assad crossed that infamous red line by using chemical weapons on his own people-bit I digress.

Now comes John Kerry repeating that line about the organization (ISIS) that we are dropping bombs on from the air. So I guess that pretty much clears things up except that Josh Earnest, the WH spokeshole,  has stated unequivocally that we are, indeed, at war with ISIS.

Well, hopefully Fox lends some light to the question because this humble blogger sure can't. I'm still trying to figure out which side we are on in this complicated little garden party. We are against Assad and supporting the rebels except most of those rebels are killing Christians and the strongest among the rebels is ISIS. That's who we are going to be dropping bombs on.

That's just in Syria. That's the place where two weeks ago Obama told us he had no strategy and two nights ago said that he had a strategy.

In Iraq, ISIS is fighting against our friends , the wonderful regime of Al Maliki, who is supported by us and Iran.....

Did I just say, "Iran"? I did, didn't I?

Let's just wait until the next press conference.
