While Protests Continue Against Israel, the Bloodbath Continues in Iraq

ISIS fighters are laying siege to a town in NE Iraq inhabited largely by Shia Muslims of Turkmen origin. If the town is captured, the inhabitants will face certain massacre at the hands of the ISIS Sunnis. In addition, a Sunni mosque has been bombed this week resulting in some 70 deaths. Iraq has sunk into chaos since the Americans left. Yet, worldwide protests against Israel continue on the streets of Western cities because the Jewish state has chosen to fight back against the Hamas terrorists who have been attacking her.

This is a hard choice for any US president, but it has become clear to most everybody that this army must be crushed and stamped out before they consolidate their "Islamic state" and organize attacks against us using their fighters who carry Western passports.

A good start would be to start hitting those ISIS killers who are laying siege to Amerli. At the same time, the US government should start acting like we are really allies of Israel.

Unless you can blame the killing on Israel and/or the Jews there is no way the world will give a damn.

OK, Findalis, if that's what it takes, let's spread the word that ISIS was created by the Mossad to destroy Shias and discredit Sunnis in the eyes of the world, a devious plot to save Israel's bacon by creating havoc and mayhem in the Arab world...

(Its no more far-fetched than the CIA boosting the Muslim Brotherhood and the progenitors of the Taliban in order to weaken international communism).

Now, back to reality. I'm all for killing ISIS at any opportunity, but let's apply the lessons of history here.

Because WW I was a pointless slaughter, the appetite of the people of Britain, France, and the U.S. for engaging in ANY war was exhausted, which gave Hitler his opening to build himself up to the point he was a formidable power... and we belatedly noticed that there was good cause to fight a war against him, whatever the cost.

Likewise, because George W. Bush (the clueless boy who really believed it) and his cabinet (a cabal of cynical evil) took as gaily to war in Iraq when there was no good reason, dragged us into years of nation building in Afghanistan when we should have kicked butt for six months and left the mop-up to the Northern Alliance... now the appetite of the people of the United States for ANY warfare in the middle east is exhausted... except now, thanks to the political vacuum we created, there is an enemy we really NEED to fight!

The president can't move out too far ahead of where the people are willing to go, and President Obama knows that. Just as Roosevelt tried to do the right thing, while he and Willkie both promised that American soldiers would NOT be sent into another European war, Obama is doing what he can.
