Iraqi Christian Refugees Arrive in France

As critical as I often am of France, I have nothing but praise for them taking the lead in accepting Christian refugees who have been forced to leave Iraq with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Other European countries must do the same as well as the US, Canada, Australia, Israel, and any other civilized country willing to help. There is no question that many people have abused refugee status, but in this case, these are true refugees in every sense of the word. There will be many more thousands who will need this type of assistance. The sad fact is that there is no future for Christians in Muslim countries.

True refugees: the ones Gary Fouse is comfortable admitting. Never mind that some of those he is uncomfortable with may have been subjected to cruel atrocities as well.

Recalling what Gary has said about the Somalis admitted to the U.S. (who had all the attributes of "true refugees" at the time), I have read that Yazidis have a history of stoning to death Yazidi girls who have the temerity to fall in love with a Sunni boy. Given how endemic such things are to all middle eastern cultures (including Jews before they were filtered through a millenium or so in Europe), I wouldn't be surprised if there are some Chaldean Christians who do similar things.

So what will it do to our tolerant, democratic culture to let these barbarians in?

(Yeah, I know, many Chaldeans have already settledin the U.S. and become good productive citizens, and for that matter, so have many Somalis. But what's good for the goose is good for the gander.)
