On July 6, I posted an article by the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California in which they condemned the sectarian barbarity being committed by Muslims in Iraq and neighboring nations. Also linked was something called the Muslim Code of Honor.

In response, I sent an e-mail on July 7 to the chairman of the Shura Council, Muzammil Siddiqi. It read as follows:
Dear Dr Siddiqi, My name is Gary Fouse. We have met and chatted at several events in the past few years, specifically at an interfaith event at Chapman University, a sharia-themed event at Loyola Marymount, and a speaking appearance at Cerritos College. I have used those occasions to ask you questions about Sharia, apostasy, and other related issues. I have read your recent statement on the sectarian violence, which is posted on the Shura Council website and also includes the Muslim Code of Honor. In response, I have posted an article on it on my blog, which is linked below. The main point I noticed was that the statement and the Code of Honor seems to be limited to various Muslim denominations (Sunni-Shia), but excludes Jews, Christians and even Ahmadis. It is my opinion-which I wrote- that to include references to Christians and Jews in the Muslim Code of Honor would conflict with Islamic texts (Koran-hadith). I was wondering if you would care to comment on what I have written, and, if appropriate, tell me where I am wrong. I would be happy to provide you a forum and post your response, or you may even use the comment thread on the link to respond directly. I look forward to an open and courteous exchange of views with you. Sincerely, Gary Fouse http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2014/07/islamic-shura-council-condemns.html
