How ironic that the Presbyterian Church USA leadership still aligns itself with Israel's enemies even after Korean Presbyterians were targeted in an attack in the Sinai. Times of Israel has a report on the US Church's consideration of an anti-Israel divestment measure.

One can only wonder how many American Presbyterians are even aware of what their national leadership is up to.

They seem confused about the sequence of events in the Israeli Palestinian peace talks.
The first thing that ran it off the rails was the PLO/Hamas reunion. Inasmuch as Hamas has parts (Article 6 -"Banner of Allah over every inch of Israel, Article 8 - "... Qur'an is our constitution, jihad is its path, and death for the sake of Allah its most sublime belief, etc.) of their Charter the destruction of Jews not only in Israel but everywhere, there was no sense for Israel to be bound by restrictions to build on they own land or land that would be part of Israel under any condition. There was no sense in releasing any more prisoners would would return to attacking Israel.
There is no sense in trying to negotiate with another party whose main goal is not to build a nation but to wipe you out. I am not aware of any country whose main purpose in formation is to destroy another people.
I believe the distinction between the PLO and the Hamas is that the PLO is determined to wipe out Israel and not necessarily all the Jews in the world. I suppose that makes them "moderate" in the view of Barack Obama and John Kerry.
It was also interesting to note the absence of any Muslim grave markers in observance of the anniversary of D-Day. That is because the Arabs were on the side of the Nazis. What a surprise.
If it is being "considered again" that means it has to date been voted down. Presbyterians vote on everything, unlike RC's and Orthodox, so all it takes is one delegate, or some minimum number of signatures, to bring it up for consideration. It will probably be voted down again, but apparently Fousesquawk wants it ruled off the agenda by fiat, in the style made famous by Otto von Bismarck. (See, I didn't mention Hitler).
