Ohio State University Spares No Expense in Finding New President

Hat tip The Lantern, Campus Reform and John Speedie for audio

As we out here at UC Irvine prepare to bide adieu to our departing chancellor, Michael Drake, who is about to become the new president of The Ohio State University, a report says that OSU spent over $600,000 in its search to find its new president.

"Ah wunnerful ah wunnerful ah."

Unrestricted funds, of course. It all came from donors.

All I can say is couldn't they have found a worthy candidate for a lot less than that? I mean what does it take? People in those higher education circles know who the best and the brightest are in their field (I am not saying Drake isn't one of them. I don't know the gentleman.)

That's a ton of dough.

"That ain't hay."
