Obama: No Apologies- "Controversies Whipped Up in Washington"

Hat tip PJ Media

President Obama, speaking in Brussels, says, "No apologies" for the release of Bowe Bergdahl. He refers to the storm of criticism as "a controversy whipped up in Washington". He also says we "leave no one in uniform behind".

1  So we leave no one in uniform behind, Mr President? What about Benghazi? Oh, silly me. They weren't in uniform. Withdrawn.

2  Controversy whipped up in Washington? No Sir. It is a controversy whipped up in dozens of places around the US where former fellow soldiers of Bergdahl are now living and speaking out. It is a controversy whipped up in other parts of the country where the families of soldiers killed looking for Bergdahl are speaking out.

The arrogance of this man is positively suffocating. For all his glowing words about our military, he has nothing but contempt for them, just as Bill Clinton did. According to Time Magazine, when this release was being discussed in the White House and the military and intelligence services were voicing their opposition, they were told by the White House and State Department that they would "have to suck it up and salute".

Suck it up and salute.

The more I hear, see, and read about this deal, the more it smells like at least week-old unrefrigerated fish, and the less I like it. It is quite clear to me that Bergdahl is almost certainly not only a deserter but at least possibly, and maybe even probably, a collaborator (perhaps as a result of the "Stockholm Syndrome" or something similar, but a collaborator nonetheless) as well.

Although he is not the son, the father is an obvious fruitcake(the nut normally does not fall too far from the tree, no??), and his appearance with Obama is nothing short of bizarre on the parts of both.

I am disturbed by his use of Arabic and his apparent sympathy for radical Islam by espousing revenge, and am further disturbed both by Obama's hosting of such a kook and his weird/inappropriate little smile at a time in the father's statement which contains wording which coincides (at least according to some who obviously know a lot more about radical Islam/jihad than I could ever hope to) with usage indicating Muslim claim/domination of a particular territory.

And no, Siarlys, I am not suggesting that Obama is a closet Muslim or that he was born in Kenya. It may, however, give some pause to consider where some of his sympathies, semi-dormant or otherwise, may actually lie.

I guess the real point is whether, after over five years in office, this is just another example of "amateur hour" for Obama and his staff, or if it is more ominous than that. It should be readily evident even to Siarlys that if Obama did not know/was not advised of all this stuff, his actions were exceedingly careless, incompetent, and irresponsible.

If, however, he was knowledgeable of the total situation, then it is much worse and a totally different thing altogether, and his actions may be indicative of the accuracy of the opinions of some/many relative to ulterior motives, whatever they may be.

We shall see what we shall see but In any event, be prepared to hear again from this so-called "Al Queda Dream Team" in the fairly immediate future.

Ooops, looks like a couple of probable errors in above post, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa, another instance of fingers outrunning brain, I guess, or maybe more current info received by me, or both.

Best I can see it now, the five mopes are apparently part of the Taliban, not Al Queda, which I understand to be two separate but related terrorist/criminal organizations.

Secondly, I have heard the language spoken by the father separately identified as either Arabic and Pashto (Pashtun??). I am no linguist, but the language has also been fairly widely described as "the language of the Taliban", which is, in my view, the more significant factor.

Finally, as to collaboration, since I posted the above, scoop has come out on an "official" Pentagon report which apparently documents, accurately or otherwise, that Bergdahl converted to Islam, that he fraternized with his "captors" by playing soccer, taking target practice with them with his very own AK-47 and even carrying it around off-range, and stated that he was now a "warrior for Islam".

Sounds a lot like collaboration to me, but it very well may have been coerced or the aforementioned "Stockholm Syndrome" at work, which may or, then again, may not, excuse the behavior.

Elwood,

Without confirming this through Google, Pashto is the language of those who are predominantly in the south of Afghanistan It seems most of the bad guys are Pashto speaking. Dari, a persian language is the other major language. A friend of mine served long ago in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan. he said the nastiest Afgans and the most unfriendly were the Pashto speakers. makes sense.
