I've been watching and contrasting the coverage tonight between Fox News and MSNBC on the Bergdahl controversy. Let's be clear at the outset: The two networks are diametrically opposed on this issue-as they are on almost every issue. On the one hand, Fox News is going wall to wall on Bergdahl while MSNBC is covering it among their usual fare of bashing everything Republican.
While Megyn Kelly was interviewing six of Bergdahl's platoon members-all of whom were livid about what Bergdahl did and insisting he deserted the unit, Rachel Maddow was telling her viewers that Bergdahl was being "swift boated". Meanwhile Sean Hannity was interviewing parents of soldiers who died searching for Bergdahl. Add to that the release by Fox of a report that Bergdahl had actually joined the enemy. (The report also states that he tried at one point to escape.)
Then there was Chuck Hagel, fresh from telling a silent troop audience in Afghanistan that it was a happy day that Bergdahl was free, now in Brussels telling the press that he was unaware of any reports that US soldiers had been killed looking for Bergdahl.

With all due respect to Chuck Hagel who was an unlisted man who fought in Vietnam. He should know better. How many ex-soldiers who were on the ground is he going to contradict?

Who cares what MSNBC says? They're as lame as Fox News.
