Chuck Hagel on the Hot Seat

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel took a lot of heat today while testifying before the House Armed Services Committee. He conceded that he and the administration could have done a better job of informing Congress of the impending swap of Bowe Bergdahl for 5 high-ranking Taliban detainees.

Just like the administration conceding they could have done a better job with that Obamacare rollout.

Hagel also took umbrage at pointed questions as to why Bergdahl is still sitting in Germany.

Maybe Hagel is forgetting what happened with the Benghazi survivors who were held incommunicado for so long. Maybe that's why he was asked why Bergdahl is still in Germany.

In addition, Hagel could not answer a question  as to whether any US troops had been killed or wounded in capturing any of the five detainees who were released. (He had no direct knowledge.)

Chuck Hagel never seems to know much of anything. That's probably why Obama appointed him in the first place. He is sort of like the Rudolf Hess of the Obama administration.

Sounds like a good deal of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Don't those Republicans in congress have any real work to do?
