How Not to Execute Someone (Viewer Warning)

Oklahoma is in the news, and its not for tornadoes. Seems they "botched' the execution of a convicted killer. (He died anyway).

Which brings to mind other famous "botched" executions (They also died). Take, for example, when the Poles hanged Nazi concentration camp commander Amon Goeth after WW II. (Goeth was the man made famous by actor Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List.) In this video above, you can watch the actual execution.

Recently, our friends in Iran held a public hanging of a murderer. They made the mistake of not securing his hands and feet before they led him to the gallows.

It looks like we need to turn to Iraq for guidance on how to do these things properly. Below is the hanging of Saddam Hussein. (George Galloway: If you are reading this, you might want to stop here. I know you and Saddam were good friends.)

"It's OK, George. He's in a better place now."

Before we shed any tears for the Oklahoma killer, Clayton Lockett, let's remember that he kidnapped, shot and buried alive a 19-year-old girl. Do I care if his last moments were "uncomfortable"? Not a bit. Think how "uncomfortable his victim, Stephanie Neimann, was as she spent her final moments on earth. And this guy, Charles Warner, who had his execution postponed? He raped and murdered an 11-month-old girl.

I personally don't care if these executions "go horribly awry". As long as they're dead, that's what's important.
