Benghazi: The Lie Unravels

"To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy."
"To reinforce the President and Administration's strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges."

Newly released e-mails released to Judicial Watch under the Freedom of Information Act show White House aide Ben Rhodes telling Susan Rice what the talking points were to be before she went on those Sunday talk shows. It is damning.

I am sure the president will get to the bottom of this.

"He is not a crook."

*Late night update: Fox is the only network covering this. Only CNN has it, and it is buried.

Not to worry, Ben Rhodes will probably say that an aide told him to do it. He may resign, only to get a six figure job with the Clinton Foundation.

The first sentence is half right and half wrong. There was no broad failure of policy, the incident was not exclusively or primarily a response to an internet video.

The second sentence is politics as usual, and nothing particularly illegal about it. Its morally no better than what the Republicans were doing with the issue, but goose and gander, pot and kettle, ho hum.

Don't tell me the Republicans were deeply concerned about the loss of life in Benghazi. They were laughing all the way to the bank, except they found their account was empty.
