Trayvon Martin and Queer Feminist Theory

Hat tip Campus Reform

"Daddy, what's a queer feminist scholar?"
(Better to ask what a straight masculine scholar is)

“[T]he web of interconnected histories and contexts that made it possible for George Zimmerman to shoot Trayvon Martin and walk away cannot be separated from white supremacy, colonialism, heteromasculinity, and capitalism,” said Meiners.

The above quote comes from some Northeastern Illinois Professor of Gender and Women's Studies named Erica R. Meiners at a some symposium at the Jane Adams-Hull House in Chicago. All of the panelists were described as "queer feminist scholars"

Even Trayvon Martin must be turning in his grave.

In this case, "queer feminist scholar" is really Marxist.

Ah, the one big happy family approach to oppression. I'm oppressed, you're oppressed, we're all oppressed, each in our own way, and we will help each other fight our respective oppressions, all for one and one for all, except when we are fighting each other over who is oppressed the mostest, and why or why not. Ultimately summarized in the sign reading "United We March."

Nothing Marxist about it Squid. Read what the construction worker said to Mark Slackmeyer in the Doonesbury series about the student radical trying to radicalize the workers. That is about all the seriousness this stuff calls for. There is no such thing as a radical revolutionary.

Stay tuned for a state-funded conference with these folks tackling Bradley (Chelsea) Manning's gender reassignment plea. The conference will be called "Prisoners in Love: Sex, Lies, and WikiLeaks." Submission(s)welcome.
