The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung is one of Germany's biggest newspapers. A review of today's articles on the Egyptian situation shows a clear favoritism toward the Muslim Brotherhood. Their lead article features the attacks on the Brotherhood, the arrests, and the defensive posture of the Egyptian government in the face of international disapproval. There is a side article about the Christian minority that only in passing mentions the current attacks on the churches, but ascribes it not to religion but the allegation that the Copts largely opposed Mohammed Morsi and supported the "Putsch" against Morsi.

In this article, the FAZ reports that it is not just the Brotherhood and the Islamists who are taking to the streets. It is a vast cross-section of Egyptian society that is reacting to government violence.
