It is encouraging to see CNN breaking this story. That is largely because they have brought in a real journalist, Jake Trapper, who came over from ABC. There are very few like Trapper on the national level. This report from Trapper, if accurate. explains a lot about why we have seen so many lies coming out of Washington about the tragic event in Benghazi.

Now we see why Congress has had such a hard time bringing in survivors to testify. Now we see why the FBI seemingly has so little to show for whatever investigation they have been allowed to do. Is this why the perpetrators of Benghazi are seemingly walking around free in Libya accessible to journalists but out of the reach of our justice?
Phony scandal? Hardly.
And why has Rep. Frank Wolf been unable to get a select committee to investigate Benghazi, one that would draw in the resources of the overlapping committees instead of them all tripping over each other? The overwhelming majority of Republicans want it, but they can't bring it about because the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, doesn't want it. He is standing in the way.
I have no idea whether this was all about shipping arms from Libya to the rebels in Syria via Turkey. If it was, it just shows what a dirty business and lousy idea it is to get involved in these Middle East cauldrons. What the Hell are we doing getting involved in these bloodbaths anyway?
But leaving that aside, what we see here is a mountain of lies coming from the White House, the CIA, now run by that mysterious John Brennan, and the State Department-then under Hillary Clinton, who is gearing up to run for president. And the victims and witnesses of Benghazi are being hidden away and threatened if they talk-even to Congress.
Is this a government or a mafia?

Now this is plausible, as anyone who was in or around the New Left, the anti-war movement, exposing COINTELPRO, or reading Phillip Agee, could attest.
What this is NOT about is the previous narrative of fumbling misleadership by an incompetent Obama administration trying to cover up that they really just loved Islamists.

If this is true, then it would confirm that the Obozo administration supports the more extreme Muslims (the Syrian rebels) than the less extreme, (Assad, the devil we know).
We would have been better off staying out of it and letting the Muslims fight each other as long as possible.
If the Iran Iraq War would have continued without our interjecting "aid" they would still be at it, saving us a lot of aggravation of all kinds.
After chastising Gary above, I myself may be just about to double-post (yet again), but maybe not.
I am just about ready to believe we should just let them kill each other until they quit, if they ever do, and let God sort 'em out in the end.
Miggie, the CIA has been pumping Islamists since at least the Nixon administration. They were the "conservative" alternative to communist and socialist influence, as well as secular Arab national socialists (three different things, but all anathema to the CIA). The Afghan jihadis were our friends, Charlie Wilson's war and all that garbage. If the CIA is still doing that, it just goes to show, the CIA doesn't take orders from the president, not on the details they don't. Its only when something has to be done in the light of day that the president has to sign off on it. (Or publicly announced after its done in the dark of night).
