President Obama, Where Are You?

The Trayvon Martin backlash of violence continues. Here is what happened in Houston as protesters blocked a highway.

Last night, about 30 young blacks rampaged down Hollywood Blvd, assaulting pedestrians and vandalizing stores. They apparently assumed the LAPD was occupied in S Central.

This is being being driven by our irresponsible news media, racial hucksters like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and others as well as our corrupt attorney general, who just yesterday, was fanning the flames at the NAACP convention as he is determined to put George Zimmerman in jail by whatever means necessary. Meanwhile, we have prosecutor Angela Corey being interviewed and calling Zimmerman a "murderer"-
notwithstanding the verdict of not guilty. Today on MSNBC, obnoxious British host Martin Bashir, who loves to opine about the "ills" of America, was interviewing Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, a Democrat from Houston, who was probably unaware of what was happening in her own district, and both of them were taking shots at the juror who had said she didn't find trial witness Rachel Jeantel credible. Such insensitivity in the words of Jackson-Lee. What a sorry spectacle as the media, politicians and prosecutors are trashing the jury who restored sanity and justice to this ugly spectacle.

And where is our post-racial president?

It is time for President Obama to address the nation and call for an end to this madness. Our society is being torn in half by those who want to divide us by color and ethnicity. Yet, the president seemingly would rather wear his community activist hat than his presidential one. How can it be that since we have sworn in our first African-American president that racial relations are becoming worse? A large part of it is because Obama is giving free rein not only to Eric Holder to pursue a racial agenda with the Justice Department, but that he is allowing people like Al Sharpton to control the narrative. So we have death threats against Zimmerman, irresponsible reporting from our media, sour grapes from prosecutors who brought a case without merit, and growing violence on our streets.

All the while, Holder wants to "have a conversation on race". Sure Mr Holder; as long as it is on your terms. I suggest Holder have a conversation on race with people like Larry Elder, Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice, Shelby Steele, and other black conservatives. He might learn something.

How disingenuous and obtuse this "Let's have a conversation about race." Where, when, who, and in what format? Anyone who believes people will change their behavior because of a "conversation" about race is nuts. There is nothing in the Constitution or anywhere else where this has any basis in law or effect.

The president, attorney general, the race baiters, and rioters in the street have the same "get even" mentality and agenda.

If there were a "conversation" then the whites should be able to bring up their grievances with the black community as well, including high black crime rate, low educational achievement or interest, high dependency rate, gangs, high illegitimate birth rate, among others.

I think that there is really a very small innate difference between the races and a wide range of abilities and accomplishment within each. The liberals (typically) perceived some crises and passed laws that felt good to them but ignored likely consequences. So now we have a hostile, violent, dependent segment of the population because of the lower expectations for the blacks which is more racist and destructive than they ever imagined.

Now it seems like nothing less than putting an innocent man in jail will placate them. It would also be helpful, according to Holder, to erase the Stand Your Ground laws, to diminish the ability of people to defend themselves and to make assaults on them easier and less risky.

Don't be silly Gary. A band of thirty thugs is opportunistically using any cover available. A few notes from the Rodney King protests and riots:

When a peaceful march formed up in SF, it proceeded peacefully, except for a handful of gang-bangers who executed a plan to break into jewelry stores along Market Street while the police were preoccupied.

Over half the people arrested for looting in Los Angeles were Hispanic, and most of those had been here less than a year.

A black-owned business was robbed by a Hispanic man and a white man, at gun point, who both went out the door saying "F--- Rodney King."

None of this "represents" either a racial group, or a political point of view, or a culture. It represents a handful of thugs who seen their opportunities and took them.

When the cops show up, will they cry "black" and "Trayvon"? Sure they will. Tell them to cut the crap, nobody is falling for that line.

Siarlys,

I do recall that many Latinos participated in the King riots. (Koreans chose to defend their stores instead.)

This weekend's protests have been organized by Al Sharpton. If any of them turns violent, he will have about line on his resume to go with Tawana Brawley, white interlopers, and Crown Hts.
