The Shame of the Catholic Church

Sorry to offend my Catholic readers. This is not about you, but it is about the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. After years of a priest-pedophilia scandal in the archdiocese of Los Angeles, in which Mahony
stonewalled investigators for years, a settlement of over 600 million dollars was reached that this week resulting in the release of 30,000 documents from the archdiocese. It proves that Mahomy and Monsignor Thomas Curry (among others) conspired for years to hide the cases of scandal from the authorities and transfer pedophile priests.

Here is Curry's "mea culpa":

"I wish to acknowledge and apologize for those instances when I made decisions regarding the treatment and disposition of clergy accused of sexual abuse that in retrospect appear inadequate or mistaken," Curry said in a statement obtained by the Ventura County Star. ""Like many others, I have come to a clearer understanding over the years of the causes and treatment of sexual abuse and I have fully implemented in my pastoral region the archdiocese's policies and procedures for reporting abuse, screening those who supervise children and abuse prevention training for adults and children."

Which of the three above is the sickest and most pathetic?

Keep in mind that this went on for two decades under Mahony. It involved hundreds of cases. For years, prosecutors and investigators couldn't  get the records from the archdiocese. And now it appears that due to the statute of limitations, these protectors of predator priests will not be prosecuted.
