Glad to see that they're being accommodating to their Jewish employees who keep Kosher, as is their right to do as a private enterprise.

Way back in the 80's my elementary school had to cancel the annual Christmas show because a few of the Jewish students complained that members of a local church sung a song about Jesus during the presentation.
And I say the school was wrong to cancel it.

Anonymous beat me to it... this is obviously a concession to Jewish employees.
But I agree, the religious law that a given employee, or group of employees, adheres to, is not legally binding and should not be binding as a matter of good manners on anyone else.
On the other hand, this edict comes from the Almighty Employer. Friends of the Right to Work for Less Committee, and advocates of the free market, will no doubt uphold this exercise of employer prerogative against the greedy arrogant workers who think they own the company.
After all, if eating pork is important to them, they can always go find another job, right?

Your school was stupid Anonymous. Instead of cancelling the program they could have added a Chanukah song or two.
In fact I went to a school that was 85% Jewish in the early 60's. Instead of cancelling the "Christmas" program the principal added a few Chanukah songs and a few Patriotic hymns. By including everyone into the circle of the nation made a richer program. This was way before the idea of PC.
Good thinking, Findalis, because everybody in this country is either Christian or Jewish. Diversity!
Since Christianity and Judaism are contradictory religions, wouldn't a show/pageant that features both Christmas and Chanukah songs also be contradictory?

Actually it worked very well and does. In fact there would be no Christianity without Judaism and there would me no Christmas without Channukah.
