SoCal Insider held a debate in the past week with moderator Rick Reiff hosting a panel consisting of Edina Lekovic of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Professor Mark LeVine of UC Irvine and constitutional law expert Karen Lugo (one of my colleagues).
LeVine, who teaches at UC Irvine, is an activist against Israel. He is a supporter of the movement to boycott, divest and sanction the Jewish state. About 3 years ago, he was a panelist at the Whither the Levant seminar at UCI, which I attended and wrote about. It was a totally one-sided attack on Israel and featured that well-known academic crank, Norman Finkelstein. At that event, Mark (and a couple of others) referred to George W Bush as an "idiot".
