Syria: Kofi Annan Turns to Hillary Clinton

Kofi Annan in his office in Geneva

Can this man save Syria?

If you can't bribe your way to a cease fire, call in the Little Woman to lay down the law. The corrupt former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, unable to do anything more than "observe" the slaughter in Syria, is now reaching out to none other than our feckless Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, to do something.

So Annan is coming to Washington, is he? I wonder what Hillary will do. Will she expel the next highest-remaining Syrian ambassador? How about economic sanctions? They work so well with Iran. How about Madame Clinton demand that Assad  stop the killing?

Short of invading Syria, which we are not going to do (at least, we shouldn't do it), there isn't much Clinton can do. Many are suggesting that we give arms to Syrian rebels especially those encamped on the Turkish side of the border. Sounds reasonable-then we can sit back and watch another domino fall to the Muslim Brotherhood.

I suspect that when Kofi arrives in Washington, he will find that his effort to save the day through Hillary Clinton will amount to little more than a call to the Chicago Cubs bullpen as yet another game goes south.

"Hello. You have reached the Cubs bullpen. We are unable to take your call right now. Please leave your number, and we will get back to you as soon as possible."

^*#*^%!!!
