The Salafist Movement in Spain

Hat tip to Gates of Vienna and Alerta

As my readers know, I try to follow events in Europe pretty closely. I also try to get over there every couple of years. My last trip to Spain was about 6-7 years ago. Up to now, I have not posted too many reports on that country, but one recent report from Gates of Vienna is well worth a read.  It concerns the activities of Salafist Muslims in that country. You can also read the original article in Spanish from Alerta.

Keep in mind that the southern part of Spain was once occupied by Muslims (Andalusia). As such, Islamists consider that territory, as forever Muslim; therefore, it must be recaptured as part of the Caliphate.  This, of course, is the land of the so-called "Golden Age" of Spain and Islam, when "all faiths lived and worked together to achieve great heights". If you hear Faisal Abdul Rauf give his saccharine speeches, you've probably heard him refer to it. It is the stated reason he decided to call his Ground Zero mosque, "Cordoba House".

It was probably true that Jews were living in better conditions there at that time than they were in Christian lands. It is also true that non-Muslims lived in dhimmi status. They were still second-class citizens. Given what is occurring from one end of the Islamic world to the other, it should be assumed that if that grand world-wide caliphate ever comes to reality, second-class citizenship will be the fate of all non-Muslims-if not worse.

If you don't believe me, just look at Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen-have I left anyplace out?

Oh yeah. Europe.

The grand world-wide caliphate wet dream is to the Abbasid and Umayyad caliphates as the Third Reich is to the first Reich.
