Steve Emerson's Investigative Project on Terrorism has posted an indictment on the LAPD and LASD when it comes to counter terror. Specifically, it zeroes in on LAPD "Sheriff to the Stars" Lee Baca, who, when he is not hosting celebrity prisoners like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, is hanging around with the folks from CAIR, MPAC and all the other suspicious Islamic organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. Baca insists to anyone who will listen that there is absolutely no hate or radical speech going on in any of the mosques in his jurisdiction. He dismisses people who speak out about certain suspicious figures and organizations as "Islamophobes".
Also mentioned in the article is the chief of LAPD's counter terrorism squad, Michael Downing.

On February 19, 2012, I had a chance to meet Downing at the Islamic Center of Orange County, where he was a featured speaker at a Sharia town hall organized by imam Muzammil Siddiqi. When I informed him that in 1992, Siddiqi had hosted the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdul Rahman, he told me,
"You know, Gary, some people change over time."

I think you get the picture. The IPT article is spot on. I would go even further. If, God forbid, a homegrown terror attack takes place in LA, some people are going to have a lot of explaining to do when it comes to their negligence. Yes, they must cultivate as many contacts within that community as possible and protect the innocent of that community from harm. There is a fine line, however, between maintaining positive relations and becoming an apologist for people who would, for example, play host and translate a violent sermon from the likes of the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdul Rahman.

who will face a painful doom unless they believe in Allah (4:160-161).
