LA County Sheriff Lee Baca was honored by CAIR in 2010 with a community leadership award. He was not present to receive it but made this video in his acceptance.
I would never fault Baca for being concerned about protecting the rights of Muslims in his jurisdiction. I do fault him, however, for embracing despicable organizations like CAIR. In doing so, he has used extraordinarily bad judgement and has allowed himself to be used by CAIR and other organizations with radical members.
Baca is a man desperately in need of an education. Does he not know that CAIR is a creation of the Muslim Brotherhood? Does he not know that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial in Dallas in 2007? Is he unaware of CAIR officials who have been indicted for terror-related activities? I know for a fact that many citizens have tried to tell him of these facts, but he is unwilling to listen.
Sheriff Lee Baca is doing his community a tremendous disservice with his willful ignorance of the facts and for giving credibility to organizations like CAIR. Someday, hopefully, he will wake up. When that day comes, he will be a very embarrassed man.
