The Muslim Brotherhood-in English and in Arabic

  Muslim Brotherhood Seal

Hat tip to Investigative Project on Terrorism and Middle East Middle Research Institute

One of the chief complaints against Yasser Arafat in his later years was that in English, he talked of peace, while in Arabic, he told his followers they were going to achieve complete victory over Israel. After reading the below article from Steve Emerson's Investigative Project on Terrorism, we should ask the same question about the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood goes to extreme lengths to convince the West that they are moderate reformists. They have been somewhat successful even within the Obama administration. In reality, they are anything but moderate.

On this site, I have linked the English-language website for the Brotherhood (Ikhwan). I have even posted one of their articles. In my view, this site tries to present a somewhat softer image to the Western reader. But what do they say on their Arabic- language web site? The below IPT article based on research by the Middle East Media Research Institute will open a few eyes.

Here is an important lesson: What many of these folks say in Arabic may be starkly different from what they say in English.

"Arab Spring", you say? How about "Springtime in Germany"?

"I reckon won't hold up in a court of law... or even in a footnote.
